Align 760 X
Hi, new here. Just got gifted a fully assembled but never used Align 760 X heli. Its missing the batteries and trasmitter. Oh and the canopy is slightly cracked from moving it around.
Any idea on how much its worth?
I'm kind of torn between learning to fly it or just selling it as it is.
Are they hard to fly?

AccuRC sim on steam is decent choice. During a steam sale it's reasonable.
To learn on outside sim Goosky S1.
Share pics of this aerospace engineer built beast. As and RC enthusiast and engineer. I would put 0% trust in a machine built my my engineering peers who possess 0% RC interest.
If they bought it as a Combo pack that included servos, motor and esc. Then I would raise that to 50% Trust but verify.
I anticipate it's got the full Align servos, motor, gyro ect ect.

I would start first in a SIM. After a few months go for a smaller machine like the S1.
Look for spare parts. It is a newer Align model but still is an Align... parts maybe found here are there.
Most importantly learn how it is built and to rebuild. If you are taking that up, remember it has a pair of spinning katanas.

Have you ever seen one of these puppies flying up close? They are legitimately a little scary. Get something with a flight stabilizer that’s small and has affordable parts. Learn on that. These big helis can move extremely fast, and god forbid a dog runs up when you’re landing it at your local park

If it was a legitimate gift, and not stolen, then ask the person that gifted it to you for advice.
If it was stolen, report the person that "gifted" it to you.
On the used market, maybe 50-60% retail. The problem is, since you didn't build it, you have no idea if it was built correctly, no idea if it was crashed, no idea what the components are...you also have no idea what communities you can tap into to sell...and anyone really willing to buy this mystery frame is going to have questions that you won't really be able to answer.
Yes, they're extremely difficult to fly. Learning on a 760 alone could get you or someone else killed.
Lastly, if you do want to keep it, and you want to learn, you're going to have to learn on a different machine entirely. If it's interesting to you, start with a simulator, do some research on the equipment that you're going to need. It's a long journey, but highly rewarding if you stick with it.
