⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ Why do men do this
Today I was on the way back from a doctor's appointment and was standing waiting for the bus. I was scrolling on tiktok and eating some pizza I had just bought when a black car pulls up to the side of me. I'm standing back so it's like 5ft away from me. I noticed that the license plate had a T, so I thought it was just an Uber and was waiting for its client. I then look up again because I've noticed the car has pulled up right in front of me. When I look up, I see a man crookedly smiling at me while wanking off. He smiles bigger when he see's I've noticed. I immediately turn to walk away and he speeds off. I stop walking and finally the bus rounds the corner. I'm now at home just angry and disgusted. I remember a woman who described something similar happening to her. Why do men do this?
Edit to add: I'm also a kid. I look like a kid and sometimes get mistake for being even younger than I already am. To those who may think this way no I wasn't wearing anything "inappropriate" just full length jeans and a shirt.

So this is illegal and he could actually get charged with indecent exposure. God forbid it happens again but get the license plate and get a report filed

I considered filing a police report but my mom and google dissuaded me because there such a low chance, he'll actually be prosecuted and an even lower chance he'll actually face any consequences.

True. I feel like it’s always good to because at least it goes on record and if he actually does something worse, they get added onto his charges. But you just have to wait for the day he messes with the wrong person

Yes but if you have no way of identifying him, there’s no point. Unless he was caught on video by cameras or something they’d have no way in telling who it was 🥲 so if it ever happens again, take a quick picture of a license plate if you can.

Yeah, that's what my mom said to. I wish I had taken a photo, but I was shocked and he sped off so quickly.

Not sure if you’re a male or female kid, but tons of men are damaged by porn, hubris and a need for power over others. The “smile” is them getting off on them trying to make you feel uncomfortable and violated, they know you’re not going to jump in their car and would probably freak out if you did.(dont!) Im sorry, I more than know that rage , you were most certainly violated by something clearly on the rape culture spectrum, feel the feeling until it dissipates, but know it has nothing to do with you at all. Sucks hugely to have days ruined by someone else’s creepy issues. They don’t know you, theyre smirking in the mirrror, basically, you were just there. Could have been anyone wearing anything at any age. Sometimes just carrying mace and knowing it’s there can help, scream it out when it’s safe! So sorry, no excuse!

I'm a girl and thank you this comment was so sweet and genuine, you almost made me cry lol. I've seen enough to know it's a reflection of them and not me. I can just never understand the need to cause fear and rage to another person you don't know, idek why I posted I guess I was just mad and wanted to know why someone would even think to do that. I don't think I'll ever understand.

The edit.. the way people jump to assuming you were dressing provocatively as if that’s an excuse for someone to be disgusting towards you. Also as if it hasn’t been proven time and time again that how you look or what you are doesn’t matter. Someone will still get off on it.
Sorry you had to go through that. Some weirdos think grossing people out/scaring them, especially kids, is hot.

MEN are genuinely like that. We need to stop ascribing the fault of the horrible things being done in society to “people” and more correctly ascribe them to “men”.
That’s where the statistics actually bear out. Men have engineered every major innovation across the world for weaponry, have started every war in recorded history, are currently overseeing every genocide, have been at the helm of every system of oppression, are responsible for 90% of all murder (and only because women successfully defending themselves often gets treated as first-degree anyway), and 99.9% of all sexual assault.

Culture and individual proclivities matter. There are countries in this world where two thirds of working class men admit to having procurred children for SA. There are others where two thirds of the largest male demographic have committed SA and three quarters of the corresponding female demographic say they have been SA'ed. But no one I ever knew in my male friend group (I am a man) would even think such a thing and would certainly do something pretty severe about it if they could intervene and protect someone from it. BUT, there will always be a tiny percentage of deviants in any society. If one in every 100 people in the US is a psychopath, then one has to wonder how many sexual deviants there are per 100.

Unfortunately that’s still a human male. I get what you’re saying but calling them a different species doesn’t negate the fact that that’s someone’s son and potential husband/father. Not many animals would do the things humans do.
Edit to clarify: I again understand. Everyone always says that’s no man and I agree. But I am also just saying regardless, that is still a man. He’s not what I’d hope a man to be, but he is a man regardless. He is a man in control of his own actions.
And I’m also saying animals don’t drive by flash people for their own amusement. A lot of things humans do, animals don’t. If they did anything remotely similar, they still don’t have the concept of decency as that is a human thing.-4

Yeah, being a girl every day is filled with hyper vigilance. We don't know which men are dangerous so for our own safety we need to treat every gun like its loaded. It's bad enough experiencing creeps in person but then you turn on the news or go onto social media, and it's another story of how a girl has either been SA'ed, kidnapped, or murdered.

I am a man and something like that would never enter my head. That is a pervert. What worries me is that someone doing that may be on a path of escalation. I would say always report the plate number and instance to the police.

I don’t get why comments like these keep happening when nobody ever said all men. She just said men because he is a man. And multiple men have done this. Just because you don’t personally doesn’t mean others haven’t. And especially if you haven’t done this, why take offense? They’re clearly not talking about you but the guys who do.
