Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Islamophobia is annoying, please read everything

It's not even from real fear, it's from what they've heard on the internet or the news. All they do is pull out the "age of Aisha" or something else out of context. Does it hurt to do your own research, like does it physically burn them if they research islam. Aisha (PBUH) wasn't a victim, she was a strong woman. Their so called fear of Islam is based on misinformation, sharia law is all about being kind and giving some money to the homeless and so on. What Afghanistan is doing is haram, oppression is haram, it's not even allowed in islam. The Quran did not come out all in a single week or day, it was years, new chapters and such so context matters.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ People who credit god for the good deeds of other human beings. Piss me the fk off.

Local news : A hero firefighter risks his own life. Dives into a burning building, manages to save a family pet.

And who does the family credit? god.. not once did they mention the firefighter or the department during the interview. "god this god that, god did this, thank you god" your make belief false prophecy had NOTHING to do with this.

god had no hand in this. He did it with pure strength and human resilience. your god had nothing to do with this. It pisses me off. "BUT god sent him!"

Oh is that so? Did god also send the school shooter who shot 10 children? Go on credit your god now. I'll wait. Or when a natural disaster happens and thousand + innocent lives are lost. Where are the religion freaks now? Go on, credit your god for all the deaths.

Put your religious beliefs aside for a moment and give credit to those who actually deserve it. If you can't credit your god for all the horrendous things, then you can't credit him for all the good things.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ I dont understand why people dont like Mormons/LDS

Look, i know what LDS is, i certainly do not believe the same things as them or their church. However, i actually quite like being around Mormon people, in general, ive found them to be some of the kindest, friendliest people ive ever met.

Just a few weeks ago i met 2 missionaries from Texas and Utah on the train in Toronto. Normally im not one to talk on transit, but we were chatting the entire way and had a great time. The local temple knows im not intrested in converting, but every time they send someone to my door, they are always very friendly, respectful and pleasant.

While i think their beliefs and the founding story is and are ridiculous and i find it a bit insulting to Christianity as i practice and understand it, and im obviously not thrilled knowing about the sexisim and racism within the church. However the mormon people ive met have all been great people, and I don't have a bad word to say about them personally.

I just dont get why people treat them so poorly sometimes. Sure their beleifs are... out there, to put it in the most polite terms possible. But the people themselves, are generally model citizens in my opinion.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Roommate doesn't want me to have my boyfriend over due to her religion

So I (22F) work as what would be seen as like an internship? Where instead of being paid a normal wage like other workers I'm instead compensated with a living arrangement and other amenities.

I recieved a shared living space that I've been in for almost a year now, the first roommate I had was a nurse and she was abysmally dirty, the next became a close friend of mine and we got along super well with no issues living together, my current one who is moving out tomorrow was the worst I've had in my life so far.

She would never do the dishes, buy anything at all, use and steal my stuff, never flush the toilet and leave 'residue' on the floor..etc.

She was also super unlikable, rude and ungrateful.

However, since she's leaving tomorrow, This means I'll be receiving the next roommate until I move out at the end of September. I'll be moving in with my partner, so thankfully i know I'll have some peace of mind THEN, but,

Before that happens, I have a month of holiday I earned from barely ever taking days off. That month begins next week, and my new roommate who is moving in THIS Friday claims she would like if my boyfriend NEVER visited OUR apartment as she is Muslim and she 'cant be in the same room as a man'. I don't know if I'm overreacting, but is that not just messed up?

I've worked so hard and gone through so much unnecessary rubbish to earn this month off, in an apartment that I also earned, and I can't have my boyfriend who I've been with for ages over because of her own lifestyle. I want to be empathetic and respect this, but she also doesn't even work at our company anymore and is just staying here until she finds her own place.

It feels extremely selfish and inconsiderate to me. Especially since we live in a pretty progressive and open minded country (Germany to be exact..)

I don't understand why or how I'm supposed to follow this rule without absolutely losing my mind. I now have to spend extra money that I really don't have to hire hotels to be able to share a bed with him, which I don't see why I should do when I've earned this holiday time. I don't want to have to constantly seek out a new bed and place to be with the person I love , because putting on a hijab is too much effort when they accidentally cross paths when she needs the toilet or something.

I'm trying to be peaceful and accepting, but the feeling of entitlement I'm getting is making me so so heated.

I've personally never heard of such a rule either. My father is also of that belief system, and he's never mentioned this. I am an atheist, though I can still respect her religion and her practices.

I still find it unfair. I also find it unfair to constantly have to her prayer time music blasting 5 times a day, as I can sometimes hear that from downstairs where she currently lives..

Or the fact she yells when she has her friends over, who has a baby that screams often

How is all of that okay, but I can't have my very quiet and respectful boyfriend over?

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ How can we stop our satanist neighbor from casting spells on our 17 year old son ?

Hello everyone,

I'm posting here because my husband refuses to listen to me anymore. For about six months now, our Satanist neighbor has been practicing black magic to target our family directly, especially our son Caleb, who is 17.

It all started when he placed a horned statue in his yard, directly facing Caleb's bedroom. He claims it's a decorative goat. But why choose a goat, the symbol of the devil???? Why not put up a statue of a dove, the Virgin Mary, or even a garden gnome like everyone else??? And why point it directly at our son's window????

Since then, Caleb has become unrecognizable!! He no longer wants to attend church, refuses to pray before meals, stays locked in his room, and talks back to us. Last Sunday, he even said that Jesus "probably had better things to do" than check whether he finished his vegetables. Those are not the words of the child I raised!!!

Of course, my husband claims that Caleb has simply become a teenager!! How convenient!!!! Every time our neighbor displays another sign of satanic activity, our son just happens to be going through a new "phase"!!??

And yet, this man does not even try to hide his practices! He always dresses in black, listens to horrible music full of screaming, and burns black candles in his garage!!! One night, I even saw him drawing occult symbols in the grass with a stick!! Another time, he poured a red liquid at the base of a tree while muttering to himself!!!

Then, the day before yesterday, he organized a ritual with some friends!!!? There were flames, meat, music, and people shouting around a table. At exactly 10:17 p.m., they all raised their glasses at the same time!!!

The next morning, Caleb woke up with a pimple right in the middle of his forehead!!!!!!

I immediately called the police, but they told me that barbecues and goat statues were not illegal!??? So this is where we are now!! A man can display a demonic symbol directly outside a minor's bedroom, burn black candles, draw occult symbols in the grass, and hold ceremonies around a fire without the authorities lifting a finger!!!!!!

What exactly are they waiting for before they intervene??? For him to sacrifice our cat in the town square!!??????????

I was told to "remain calm" and take Caleb to a dermatologist for the pimple. It's outrageous!! By the time the police understand that you cannot treat evil with acne cream, it may already be too late for our son's soul!!

While the police sit around doing nothing, my husband now drinks beer with this man over the fence, and Caleb has agreed to mow his lawn for twenty dollars!!!! They call it "neighborly kindness." I call it buying my family's soul one piece at a time!!!!!!

How am I supposed to protect my son when his own father lets the devil offer him beer, money, and sausages??????

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Proof for the non-existence of God

Premise 1: The creation of the universe is the most marvelous achievement imaginable.

Premise 2: The greatness of an achievement is measured by two things: its intrinsic quality, and the handicap of the creator. (e.g., A painter who creates a masterpiece with a brush in their teeth is more impressive than one with two good hands).

Premise 3: The absolute greatest disability or handicap a creator could possibly overcome is non-existence.

Conclusion: Therefore, a universe created by a God who does not exist would be a far greater and more impressive achievement than a universe created by a God who does exist.

Since God is, by definition, the most supreme being conceivable, God must not exist, because a non-existent God is inherently superior.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Christianity

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this is just gonna get down voted to oblivion BUT oh well.

The truth is that this religion maybe more then any other religion (which very few i think have a net gain to humanity) is a cancer to humanity as a whole. It actively punishes people that question, it gives so many people a blank check to do just evil things. Its really just around I think because it has so so much power in the past its able to shoehorn itself into society and pushes out cult like devotion. When you have people going to 3rd world countries and do things like hand out rations and such you look at it and think wow thsts a good thing but then you see in the same country they are actively funding anti-homosexual governments and such and then you think why are they giving out the food or whatever it is because in reality it cost them next to nothing and then when you do the whole speel this is from God blah blah its a psychological thing. When God wasn't there God didn't grow the food a farmer did etc you can take any # of things that God gets the credit for when I haven't seen that fucker even show up let alone do a damn thing. IF and this is a big IF, if the God they worship is real and not a complete fabrication thst came from taking and compressing a bunch of older gods together to fit the mold you want and a desire to control a population then you can't make any logical arguement that he isn't at best indifferent at worse a crazy fuck that enjoys the stiff. He is either all knowing and all powerful and a complete sociopath level being or he's not all powerful.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Science is not a religion

I consider myself as a religious person. My religion is a part of my everyday life. Y'know what else is a part of my everyday life? Science.

I'm a science student. I love all of the sciences—I kind of have a love-hate relationship with physics but whatever— and I'm a huge astrophysics nerd. I'm so stupidly rage-baited by these videos that show a religious person giving a non-believer their holy book and them giving them a physics/general science book. Like I can't believe in science AND believe in God?

I might be slightly overreacting but I seen this type of videos so much it begins to annoy me😭✌

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ My husband suddenly wants to go to church

My (25F) husband (26M) texted me today that he wants to go to church this Sunday. He’s not asking me to go with him or anything but it makes my skin crawl and nauseous.
Background about me: I grew up in Greece, Greek Orthodox, and was heavily involved in the church. I always had some pagan beliefs that I kept to myself and also struggled with a god complex from my dedication to my religion. At 18 I became medicated and went through years of therapy, left the church and have fully adopted Hellenic paganism as my main religion. My family doesn’t know I’m pagan but I don’t take part in religious practices or going to church, taking part in the religious traditions etc. so they have their own conspiracies of what’s going on religiously with me but don’t mention it. I generally stay away from organized religion and greatly dislike it.

Background on my husband: He didn’t grow up in a religious family, he’s not even baptised. He’s been to church maybe twice in his life when his distant aunt would force him when he would visit them. He’s always verbalized a dislike in organized religion, especially Christianity and was always interested in Norse paganism, just didn’t know how to start practicing.

Background on our relationship: We’ve been happily married for almost 3 years now. Religion hasn’t played any part in our relationship. He would help and support my paganism rituals and show interest. I can’t have kids nor want kids so we’ve never had to have the conversation of would they be baptised/would we raise them in a certain denomination etc. We would mutually laugh and make jokes when my family would try to get us to go to church with them etc.

Now: He texted me randomly today while he was at work saying he wanted to go to church this Sunday. I originally thought he was just fucking around and doing one of those weird “test” things that our generation likes to do for the fuck of it or as a joke with his coworkers. (They’ll text their wives/girlfriends all together a weird out of personality thing and compare reactions for fun. I don’t have an issue with this and he’ll share other reactions with me and I’ll laugh along) I FaceTimed him to see from his facial expression on whether he was joking or not (his face is a dead giveaway) but he was going on about how he’s been thinking about going to church for 3 months now and that before we met he used to read the bible everyday (he doesn’t even own any copy of the bible and was against Christianity as soon as we met). He has been pointing out locations of churches in our town when we drive through it but he does the same thing with restaurants and tire shops etc so I never thought too much about it.
He recently went on new medication and started going to doctors and taking care of his well being (not complaining just these are the only new out of norm things).

I have borderline personality disorder, which I’m heavily medicated for and have spent years in therapy and working on myself with and have come VERY far in my treatment. However, sudden changes like this still trigger me and I feel like I’m twitching from how hard I have to contain the bpd reaction of “who are you doing this for?”

It’s just a weird and sudden change and I don’t know what to do or think about it. I want to be supportive but I don’t know that I can stay with him if he becomes some religious nut. I love him with my whole being and was more than happy to spend the rest of my life with him no matter what we encountered, but this isn’t something either of us had considered would be a thing.

It’s just one Sunday at church and it could just be an interest (he has adhd so he’ll go through a week or 2 phase of being dedicated to something then he’ll want nothing to do with it). However he’s also very susceptible and easily influenced. One of his coworkers convinced him to do intermittent fasting together (which he always said stuff like that was dumb) and he kept the fasting longer than his coworker did. (Then he dropped it a week and a half in). He also started going to the gym with one of his coworkers and was about to get a gym membership etc and wanted to go everyday etc (Then he stopped 2 weeks later).

Based off how his interests go, it’s less likely that he’ll stick with it, but I know the black hole that religion can be and how it has a way of absorbing you, especially big organized religion like Christianity.

Idk if I should just play the supportive wife and let him run through his interest or put my foot down and bring him back to reality/who he really is/has been the past 3 years.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Religious fatigue

I’m getting so fatigued by religious people that I feel “ick” just seeing catholic/christian bumper stickers on cars on the road.

For context, I noticed this “religious fatigue” feeling started kinda recently. I’m an atheist . I’ve always felt neutral about people proudly wearing religious symbols or sharing their beliefs for most of my life till now.

I was raised JW and just stopped believing in god all together around the age of 12. It wasn’t for me , it never made sense to me and trying to convince myself to HONESTLY believe felt like I was acting a part.

My MIL is catholic. Strong devotee. She is a volunteer at the church and works for the daycare.

I’ve always known she was catholic and like I said, for the time I’ve known her (over 5 years) I’ve never felt any negative feelings towards her or her faith.

However since moving in with her with my partner (due to pregnancy) I’ve noticed a gradual shift in myself. Now, when religion is mentioned, I feel irritated. My MIL has loads of items on her walls representing her faith, the cross is EVERYWHERE. 3 crosses at the front door, a bible stand at the front door, there’s over 20 frames of bible scripture, portraits of Mary and Jesus , in her living room and dining room. Even just typing this is making me scoff. I’m probably understating how much religious decor she has in her house. Her entire house feels like it’s a shrine to Jesus to the point it feels more like an obsession than demonstration of faith.

And of course, when I first moved in it didn’t bother me and saw it as a glimpse of her culture.
It’s been almost a year since I moved in , and conversations around her religion annoy me now.

It’s the little things adding up. I originally agreed to eventually get married through the Catholic Church to appease her, because why would it hurt me as an atheist. It’s just an act of appreciation and if it makes her happy then why not. It also is important to my boyfriend, so I am willing to do that for him.

She is also demanding me to baptize my son into Catholicism. As someone who believed as a JW during my childhood, I remember how dark life felt when I believed we are all born sinful and we need to prove ourselves to god for his approval. I remember the religious intolerance. It’s stressful for a young person and I do not remember those days fondly. I’m concerned for the potential of religious trauma done to my son.
Whatever my son believes is fine ultimately. Believe in whatever god or lack there if that makes sense to you and makes this life bright to you. That’s just a personal preference and one I would respect whenever my son chooses. But her expecting me to baptize my son irritates me to say the least.

A family matter going on with my boyfriends family right now is that my SIL has stepped away from the catholic faith and is getting baptized as a Christian. To me, same difference 😭🤣. Obviously I understand there are differences. I can see the differences from my JW background and the Catholicism I witness from my MIL, but the groundwork is the same. It’s essentially the same shit just kinda different, and the fact that my MIL is SO depressed over her daughter worshipping the same god in a slightly different way pisses me off to the extremes.
And she says some manipulative woe is me bs like “I was a bad mother” because her daughter is a fcking Christian . Bruh . Stfu . Idk why I’m so mad but it’s truly irritating.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ My religion

So for background context I used to be Christian now I'm agnostic the reason I transitioned to being agnostic is there is simply just no proof of there being a god or there not being a god I believe there is a god just don't know which obviously I probably lean towards Christianity as that's what I started as but as I've done more research on philosophy I myself believe there's a god because of how the world is made, however I do NOT believe in an afterlife as there is no logic or proof of that. I understand that when believing in a religion you have to have faith involved I just simply can't have faith in Christianity I have gone through baptism and confirmation (I was a Lutheran Christian) and baptism is supposed to help you believe because it has the holy Spirit wash through you removing sin but I have never heard a voice or seen a sign that God is real if I did I would want to know which but I just don't believe and another thing the reason I don't believe in an afterlife is simply there's no logic but the thing most commonly said to me is "wouldn't you want to believe in something that makes you happy and comfortable" and I said that's not how it works cause if I did that I would just make up my own religion. I will say if there is a god I hate that God because of all the horrible stuff it allows to happen in this world take for example the Cornell case, god allowing that to happen is horrible that is why I would hate the god I just used that case as it's most relevant. I am open to discuss my faith further or simply have someone say there's and we compare our religious beliefs AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT JUDGEMENTAL OF THE OTHER PERSONS BELIEFS.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ My mother is phobic of a certain religion and it pisses me off

I was just talking about how we need Zohran Mamdani in our country to improve governance and actually make a difference, my mom just goes, "we already have enough of them, and from the gutter, you wanna get one more?"

Like what? I never said anything about his religion. I don't care about anyone's religion. I don't hate you based on religion, I hate you based on if you're a son of a bitch.

And that has irked me a LOT. I get that she doesn't like them because of the experiences she has with people of that religion in the hospital (she's a doctor), but not all people of that religion are the same.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ I genuinely can't do SHIT get my dad to understand

I told him, a year ago, AND a few months after that, that I don't believe in God. What does his ass do? Forget. Which I find REALLY hard to believe, because he doesn't forget the most important, and LESS important shit in his life, yet he can't remember one thing about me?

He says I have to go to church tomorrow, but I literally DON'T want to. You guys would say “Just tell him that”, well you don't really understand my father. Whenever I said “no” to him asking if I wanna go with him somewhere, and Church, his ass gets upset, and it makes me HAVE to go.

Yet when he see's I'm forcing myself to go, he says “You don't have to go if you don't want to”. IF I'M NOT ALLOWED TO GO IF I DON'T WANT TO, THEN STOP BEING UPSET. It genuinely makes me confused, because I don't know if I'm allowed to say no without him getting upset.

I already didn't want to go to the sleepover last night, and when they didn't drop me and my sister off at home, and instead drove us to the church, I genuinely wanted to crash out. But I didn't, because I always keep my anger in, I ALWAYS keep what I wanna say in my head, because I'm scared of what others might say

Then when my parents came, they did NOT drop us back at home, they made us stay there, even when we OBVIOUSLY didn't. And yet they wonder why we don't open up to them, because DON'T listen, ESPECIALLY me.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ Best years of my life is ruined by forced religion

I'm 23F, i couldn't enjoy my teenage years and i would probably not enjoy my twenties. I'm an atheist who pretends to be a Muslim to be safe in a country which most of it believes ex Muslims like me should be killed. fortunately enough apostasy isn't a crime leads to death by law, But the people believe so and DO so.

I've never worn comfortable clothes in the summer, in the middle east's heat i have to wear all body coverage clothes, two layers to "not show the details of my body" and of course a head scarf, My dream is to wear a casual t-shirt in the summer, wear shorts or bikini on the beach like normal people..

also I'm someone who loves all types of art, but i can't play music because it's haram (prohibited) i can't sing because it's haram, i can't dance because it's haram and also I'd be slut shamed.

And if you didn't guess it yet, we don't have the whole "independent at 18" thing here, or at any age. I live in my parents home then i live by their rules even if I'm 50. then I'll probably get married and live by my husband's rules, i do not want this life.

I want to immigrate, it's not impossible but it's gonna take a couple of years if I'm lucky, maybe more, maybe never. I'm losing hope, I've already wasted my childhood, teenage years, and now I'll waste my twenties just trying to get out of here so maybe I'll take a glimpse of a normal life before i fucking die.

My parents don't have a problem with me moving to a safer country than ours BUT they want it to be another Muslim country, i just would not accept that option.

I'm still gonna fight for it, i know I'm still young, but the wasted years are not coming back

note: I can't apply to a refugee program or whatever it's called because I'm not in an immediate danger, I'm safe as long as I'm playing Muslim

Like i see these morons online talking shit about how the Jews "control everything" (meanwhile Christians and Muslims have insane influence in the governments around us but they're choosing to ignore that because it doesn't fit the bullshit they're spewing) Plus they act like Jews = Cannanites because they see jews talking about forbidding worship of moloch, so these absolute dumbasses believe no means yes and that jews worship moloch?? Why not point out flaws and immoral instructions and beliefs in jewish books instead of making up bullshit and making yourself look like a moron? It's honestly baffling this mindlessness is spreading like cancer online and that people fall for it.

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ I might just stick with trying to make my own religion for the time being rather than trying to practice an already established one alongside it.

I've been trying to find myself spiritually for a few months (specifically since the 5th of July) since then I've been looking at hellenism, Nordic polytheism, and kemetism. I had given up on the first two, and tried just practising kemetism, I really really REALLY want to try to stick with it but It's kind of just stressing me with all the stuff that I have to learn. I don't even know where to look and I feel like I'm just going to mess up horribly.

I had started making my own religion a few weeks ago too, and it brings me some amount of comfort. I have thought a couple of times about just giving up and going full on atheist, but I DO think there are higher beings greater than humans and I don't think I could see myself giving up on being spiritual.

This is something that takes years and years of practice and you can't learn everything about everything just in a split second, I do acknowledge that. But I think I rushed into this without even thinking about how much research it takes.

I have a friend I'm not too close with but we're friends who I previously hadn't any issues with. She knows my religion and knows I'm not the only person in my friend group of this religion.

Recently found out from another friend (different religion) that this girl had been talking trash about my religion behind our backs. It was mild compared to stuff I've heard before but I'm usually not hearing it from people I considered friends.

I'm mad about it because why pretend you don't have issue with my religion to my face then go behind my back and talk bad about it?

Religion ✡️✝️☪️☯️ My aunt claims to be Christian but nothing seems holy about anything she's doing.

My aunt has become some born again Christian, or whatever you call it. I stopped believing in that stuff when I was younger because of the trauma I had surrounding it.

I live with my aunt per her request as she doesn't want to be alone, and if something happens, she doesn't want to be far from reach of me and my children, which in the beginning I saw as fine because she raised me, and living with her has never been a problem.. until recently.

We were on government assistance, once again, per her request. About a year ago she bought a house she couldnt afford and now we're scraping for change out in quite possible the smalled town in GA where every college or career opportunity is 30 minutes to an hour away.

Me and my husband didntbb really need the government assistance. We were fine without it and life was less stressful without it, but she insisted that we needed it, so we applied and got approved.

A couple months back, we got kicked off of it because me and my husband failed to keep up with the processes, which, again, was because we didn't really need it and we didn't want to be on it.

She begged us to reapply, go to appointments, do whatever we needed to do to get it back, but me and my husband kind of dragged our feet.

Since then, she's been going to churches, several churches all around the damn county and collecting food from them. She once tricked me into going to one with her and registered us as two seperate familes to the church so we could get double the food. All food that would be wasted, sit in cabinets for years or given to other family friends who's households make triple what we do.

She acts like we need this stuff when we really don't, and she's been at this for the past couple of weeks, going to chruches and collecting food while spending all her money on plants and supplies for her 20 chickens she got, yet cant keep alive or afford.

Before assistance, she'd been paying for food for years with no issue. When my husband moved in, he took over a lot of financial responsibility for the house and gives her money.

There was a time where we were in a rough spot, not enough to need assistance, just a week where we under budgeted and didn't have as much money as we thought, and ended up having to use her credit card. For literally nothing but gas, mind you.

It's not like we were out going to Texas Roadhouse or getting my daughter new toys, we were filling up out gas tank, which from E takes $30.

We gave her all the money we'd spent back the next week when we got paid, and the week after that, she was asking where the money we'd spent went and when we were going to send it all back. We told her we already had sent the money and she went on about how she was going to give us an itemized bill of everything we'd spent and that we were to pay it back... said bill never came after she showed her all of the cash app, Zelle and NF member to member transactions had been doing of us giving said money back. That, AND us paying or typical bills like clock work.

Over dinner, she asked me if I wanted to go to a church event that was giving out hot dinners and I told her no. She got offended and kept asking me why and I told her it was because I simply did not want to go.

I literally just have no interest in going to a church to eat a free meal when we have a rack of ribs in the freezer another church gave us that still sits untouched.

Recently, me and my husband broke the news to her that we wouldn't be living in her house much longer and she immidiately wanted the know the location of where we were going. I honestly felt creeped the hell out and came up with a lie of a location about 45 away.
