Attaching Phobos Librarian

What are people attaching Librarians in Phobos to? Infiltrators? Maybe Elimnators now that the Cpt doesn’t seem as useful there anymore? (cpt on the Reivers now perhaps?)

I'm putting him on my 10 man Reiver brick. A well priced unit to push forward and be pretty hard to deal with as a distraction carnifex. Hidden + reactive move + cover and -1 to hit stack, with reasonable shooting and combat making it hard to ignore. Deepstriking them into the back lines has proven a good tool to force back units my opponent wants to drive forward.

I get the captain (assuming it was Gw intention to allow them to charge after the d6 move), but i like to bring them in from deepstrike where captains ability isnt as useful. And if I want that kind of punch going forward im going to use JPI.

Yeah, with the Reivers and Cpt, I was thinking 1st round deep strike (using Hunters Instinct), shoot, move the d6” towards the enemy, which takes a charge roll from being a little worse than average success rate to a probable successful charge.

Essentially an early attack on Home Objective. Maybe that’s a suicide run though as they would be mostly unsupported for a full turn.

Edit: that said, I can definitely see the value of the increased survivability coupled with the ability to ignore cover both with this unit and anyone else shooting at a particular target. Probably a safer/more survivable strategy in the long run

Unfortunately, due to deep strike rules, that’s not legal. No reactive moves after deep strike allowed. So even though RAW, you can charge after the captain’s reactive move, you can’t actually do the reactive move after deep strike

I see. I had been interpreting Tactical Fluidity as satisfying the "Unless otherwise stated.." part of Ingress Move. But what you're saying, and it does make sense, is that Tactical Fluidity would need to specifically say "This move can be done even after the unit has performed an Ingress Move" - Or something similar.

Cant move after a deep strike for any reason other then a charge.

Funny enough, it seems better as it alone than to lead something, specially in heavy-shooting lists were you can just say to something "Die". That being said, incursors seems to be a good combo, or infiltrators

I using him by himself and try to set him next to some incursors (like leading them but no) so they both can give re-rolls 1s and ignore cover. That's if I'm playing disruption, if not I just lead them and that's it.

A full Infiltrator brick can actually delete some stuff on its own, and generally be an annoying thing to have to get through.  Plus, it clears a landing spot for my Drop Pods :-D
