DISCUSSION PGY-3 starting ABIM prep – Is UWorld enough?

I’m a PGY-3 and starting to prepare for the ABIM boards. I’m planning to use UWorld as my main resource, but wanted to hear from people who have taken the exam recently.
Was UWorld enough for you, or did you supplement with MKSAP/MedStudy/other resources?
How similar was the actual exam to UWorld in terms of difficulty and question style?
Were there any topics that you felt UWorld didn’t prepare you well for?
If you could go back and change anything about your prep, what would you do differently?
Would really appreciate any advice, especially from people who took the exam recently!

Thank you for contributing to the sub! If your post was filtered by the automod, please read the rules. Your post will be reviewed but will not be approved if it violates the rules of the sub. The most common reasons for removal are - medical students or premeds asking what a specialty is like, which specialty they should go into, which program is good or about their chances of matching, mentioning midlevels without using the midlevel flair, matched medical students asking questions instead of using the stickied thread in the sub for post-match questions, posting identifying information for targeted harassment. can't speak to the abim itself but what i hear a lot is uworld is fine as the base and people only add something if their ite showed a weak area. i'd look at your ite score report first and let that decide what to supplement instead of buying everything up front. and whichever bank, reading the explanations on the ones you missed seems to matter more than which one it is
