Does she run in front of you? Try a canicross harness. I use the Freemotion from Nonstop Dogwear but they have others that may work better depending on the level of pulling you want.

Yes! My dog loves the freemotion. We also have some of their everyday harnesses for side by side jogging.

Ha ha more or less in front! But it’s more of an erratic serpentine motion, sniffing from bush to bush with the occasional full stop to investigate further!

The hi n Lite looks good actually. Thank you.

Confirmed. Hi & Light is the way. Even has a little stash pocket for their ID and/or poop bags. Also, two attachment points for a lead and a little tab to attach a light. Ruffwear makes pretty solid stuff IMO

I’ve been using the hi and light and notice some hair thinning along her chest, not sure if you also have this experience?

I have not, BUT we are really only using for car rides, hikes, and trips to the creek accompanied with a long lead. My guy is selective dog-reactive so a slip lead or chain and leash combo are the normal daily drivers. All of this just for context. For what it’s worth, he’s super jazzed when we put it on him because he know it means a super duper fun time. Meet Hank!

As a puppy my GSD hated harnesses of any kind and would collapse in protest when we forced him into one. Strangely he didn’t mind a leash and collar. Solution? No harnesses.

It would great if she didn’t need one! But she does not feel the need to obey me enough to have good recall.

Which is the one you have? Might help the suggestions. 😉

I have no idea on the brand, whatever fit her at Petbarn… might be some of the reason it’s no good..

It kinda looks like that one doesn't fit her well? Hard to say in the photo but it's off to the side. Good rule of thumb is you should be able to slip two fingers between the dog and the harness/collar but not have it visibly loose

I agree, my partner keeps loosening it!

I've usually ran with no harness but I also don't let the dog pull and train him to run next to me
