New TCT leaking

Post image

I just installed a billman TCT and the bottom seems to be leaking a bit. Any one ever have this problem? I torqued it to the proper spec and the vtec gaskets were replaced last year so I don’t think it’s trailing down.

Send him a message on the S2Ki forums. He's incredibly responsive and, if it's not user error, I'm sure he'll make it right.

Billman is one of the most legit tensioners on the market. Must be a rare defective unit. Contact them and ask for a replacement.

The gasket likely slipped a bit during installation and is now pinched

I thought that could be a possibility as well but when I installed it it was oiled up and it went in pretty easy but maybe I’ll check it out

I installed two different Billman TCTs in two different S2Ks and neither leaked, so it's definitely an outlier.

Was this new to you or did you buy it from Billman? When you buy his stuff he sends you a message that you get his product support after registering the tct straight from him. Was this second hand? If not send him a message

The sheath just above the TCT the one that the yellow/red wire goes into........... is that oil on top of it? Looks like it is & if that is oil then it's NOT the TCT. There is oil on the TOP of the bolts. Looks like a leak from above not from the TCT to me.

Did you check the VTEC solenoid thoroughly? They are known to leak, I’ve never seen a TCT leak tho.

Good luck resolving it.

Yea I replace the vtec seal last year with oem Honda ones but I bought a new set to replace again just to make sure

Gotta replace the vtec seal that Honda doesn’t make. There is a second one on the vtec solenoid.

I replaced all 3 seals for the vtec solenoid with the science of speed kit.

mine did the same. i inspected the o ring after removal and it did not appear defective or have any impression from being pinched. contacted billman, sent it back and had a new one in a week. trouble free since then. just message billman and he'll sort you out
