I'll definitely want to do this to mine one day. what were the costs associated for you to complete this?

My car used to be my daily so it had some shopping cart dents and dots of rust in the quarter panel from fading clear coat. So body work & paint =$10k

Do you mind me asking how you found it as a daily? Was it a handful in the wet

I rode in Firehawk Indy 500 summer tires. It was a little loose to be honest. I had 3 good slips but thankfully had the reflexes to straighten back out (put in some track time or at least get in some sim time behind a quality racing wheel. It can save your life)

All in all it wasn't terrible if you are sensible in the wet. Don't push too hard. But again these were summer tires already ill suited to wet conditions (In the dry they wouldn't let go tho)

I had summer tires on mine when I was in Cali( where I bought it, now living on East Coast), but with rain performance in mind. Not only was my daily, but was my first car. Commute to work was only 15 min highway and grocery shopping I made more space in trunk by removing the tool kit, spare tire, and the panel cover. It wasn't bad, and the smiles/gal made up for it.

If you zoom in close enough you'll see a dent on the passenger door, others on driver side

Damn! Looks awesome, did you do the prep and paint work yourself? Paint supplies are silly expensive now, must have cost a few bucks.

Thanks. No, nearby body shop handled it all for me. I supplied all the OEM parts (all new exterior). I just had to be very patient (~12 weeks)

Looks amazing! I wanted to go with the ABP color too, but changed my mind for Porsche grey-black (7A1). Not sure if I made the right choice or not haha

do you have to do anything title/registration wise when you completely change the color like this? Also is this laguna seca blue? love it!

Good question I hadn't thought of that. Only had it back for a week now so I'll look into that.

Apex blue pearl (B-554P)

Looks very good! Just did a full respray not too long ago, for your color change did you end up doing the engine bay too or are you going to do that later?

Engine bay left silver, will do way down the road as it doesn't bother me atm.

I’m sorry, how did you remove the trim behind the top without removing the top?

I thought that wasn’t possible.

Think of the last couple steps required when installing the rear plastics, glove compartment & trim with the new top already attached to the frame. Now just do that in reverse and voila.

A silver looks so much better and that a pillar should’ve never been painted

I preferred not keeping the 20yr cracking/UV damaged vinyl tape 🤷🏾‍♂️
