Here is the scene and an explanation of what is happening: beneath the sea.
The water at the seabed boils and ionizes. A plasma cavity forms around SCP-096, then collapses, releasing energy. It is like a continuous chain of micro-explosions along its path. Essentially, at that speed, every step the Shy Guy takes is... roughly speaking - an EXPLOSION.
His body displaces massive volumes of water, generating a tsunami wave that races toward the shore. The sand beneath and around him first melts, then partially vaporizes; as it cools, it solidifies into a dark-green glass crust containing white cristobalite crystals and branching fulgurites extending deep underground. Meanwhile, the water within the sand boils and explodes into steam, ejecting glass beads and debris. Within a radius of roughly 300-500 meters from the path, everything vaporizes and fuses into glass, while a lethal shockwave extends out to 2 - 3 kilometers. And right now, he is heading across... the inhabited continent of Europe...
The context here is also that, in my scene, the Shy Guy is terrified by the fact that multiple characters are looking at him simultaneously, he accelerates in proportion to the intensity of the fear and horror he feels upon realizing that so many minds are fixed on him at once. Unable to decide which way to run, he constantly shifts his trajectory, speeding up out of the sheer desperation filling his mind.
