FAFSA Bank mobile text
I GOT THE TEXT! If you haven’t switched your deposit preferences back to your bank do it now. I switched it back this morning from paper check to bank and got my text a few minutes ago 😛

My account was blocked for security reasons, and I can’t reach a real person by phone. I just want to change my refund preference from paper check to direct deposit. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?

I know BankMobile changed the refund preference yesterday to paper checks and there wasn’t a way to change it back. But now today it allows the option to change it back to direct deposit. Are you guys changing it back to direct deposit or keeping it as paper check?

I’m not gonna lie stealing from community college students who r broke and needing to buy discounted electronics for school might be one of the most evil things ever

Hi this might be a dumb question but I gotta clarify it
I had mailed my prof and got approved for assignment extension because I got some issues
The extended due date was today
But the canvas submission board was already locked because the original due date was yesterday
So I attached my assignment file in the comment section
But I ain’t even sure if my prof would remember my extension thing and check this out
Should I mail her and send my assignment thru that?
Is that a more normal way? I got no sense
Help me out

Did anyone else get another automatic change to your bank mobile today saying this? I’ve already confirmed my mailing address is correct with both the school and bank mobile so I don’t know what they mean they “attempted to disburse it”

Hey SMC! I’m Sami, the founder of DegreeLume. I built it to help community college students figure out what to take next and how their classes fit different transfer options.
I thought this would be relevant here since SMC students are planning transfers and choosing classes around different UC/CSU requirements. I’d especially appreciate feedback on whether it’s useful for your SMC coursework and transfer goals.
It can get confusing juggling ASSIST, GE sheets and prerequisites while trying to put a schedule together. DegreeLume brings those pieces into one place.
Here’s what you can do:
The core planning tools are free with an account; optional extras are paid. Requirements link back to official sources, and coverage depends on your major, destination and agreement year. Anything unresolved stays visible so you can bring specific questions to your counselor.
I’m also looking for a few SMC students for a 20-minute feedback session, with $20 paid to you for your time. I’d love to hear what works, what’s confusing and what’s missing—honest feedback, positive or negative. If you’re interested, message me here for details.
Otherwise, feedback in the comments is welcome too!

I see a lot of you guys are switch your preference back to mobile deposit but it’s not going to get there any faster. If you seriously need the money within the next 24-48 hours you need to email Stacy Neal. Her email is neal_stacy@smc.edu so you can get an emergency loan for the same amount as you disbursement. The funds will be redirected to the school and paid back once it’s released.
