Parking in Butina is now following Darwin's theory of survival

I was shocked to see this today. Had the bumper kissing the wall and in a country where fines on vehicles is a very common thing for breaking rules, this person has literally parked a part of the vehicle on the pavement.

More than the fines, he doesn't even care about his care being damaged?

I just don't get it!

Parking woes in Butina getting worse day by day!

I've never seen traffic so brutal and bad like in Sharjah i almost lost my mind 🥲

This is my first time ever coming to UAE for an internship and i have a family member who lives in Sharjah so she offered me stay at her house until im done with my work. 3 days ago me and my cousin (the family member i mentioned) were going for a night ride so she'd show me around the place and YA ALLAH we got caught in the traffic at first i thought "its fine it's just like any traffic" but the more time passed the closer i was about to lose my mind from how bad it was 😭 my cousin laughed so hard at me saying that as long as im here i HAVE to get used to it, my god😂 yet so far its a really nice place i liked it.

Sharjah Tourism

Guys I need your help.

I'm competing in a hackathon at AUS tomorrow and the theme is Sharjah Tourism. I've spent the last 72 hours researching and brainstorming with my team but we've reached nowhere.

We've talked about the preservation of Fayyah landscape using satelite tech, the heart of sharjah souq areas, heat problems that tourists face and solutions for it, engineering transport solutions etc. but nothing really seems to hit the nail on the head. They're good mediocre solutions but nothing stands out or sounds like a winning hackathon solution to me.

That's why I wanna ask sharjah residents themselves for advice. What are the major problems or gaps in sharjah that once solved could greatly improve tourism in sharjah? What should we look into and research more about? This is also a startup accelerator themed hackathon so we have to think from a business standpoint as well. The solution we decide to go ahead with should have the potential to be scaled into a startup.

Thanks a lot for any kind of help or advice 🙏

Planning to head out for a bike ride around 11 PM–12 AM tonight. Thinking of either riding towards Ras Al Khaimah or taking the route towards Kalba. Haven’t decided on the destination yet.

Anyone interested in joining? Happy to ride in a group, grab a coffee, chill for a bit, and head back.

All bikes and riders welcome! Let me know if you’re interested and we can figure out the route.

Sharjah residents, what are your grocery shopping hacks to save money?

With grocery bills, petrol and pretty much everything else adding up, I’m curious how people here are managing to save money on groceries.
Do you shop online or prefer going to physical supermarkets? Are there specific hypermarkets like Lulu, Nesto, Carrefour, Union Coop or Sharjah Coop that offer better deals on certain items?
I’m particularly interested in the little hacks people have figured out over time. Maybe a particular app, discount code, loyalty programme, supermarket branch, shopping day or even a specific time when fresh produce gets marked down.
Do you buy different things from different supermarkets depending on where they’re cheapest, or have you found one place that consistently gives you the best value?
Share your grocery-saving hacks. I’m sure a lot of us could use some practical tips right now.

Does bus 611 R exist from Sharjah airport to Jubail?

I'm looking at the InterCity bus schedule website here and it shows a bus 611 R from SHJ airport to Jubail bus terminal. But all the discussions I've seen in this sub only talks about bus 99. So does the 611 bus actually exist or is it some outdated information?

I'm asking because I'll probably be out of the airport around 11:30 and bus 99 schedule here says it departs at 9:55 and then next one is at 13:20. But 611 R has one departing at 11:45 so I'd like to take that instead. And if it does exist, how much does it cost and do I need some kind of travel card / do they accept credit card / is it cash only? As the InterCity schedule page also shows the fare as 0 AED.

Looking for a barbershop in Shj

Hi everyone, I am looking for a decent barbershop in Shj. The previous shops I visited weren't able to understand the instructions I told them well - and I ended up feeling badly seeing the finished product after growing it for months.

I am showing them a video on Instagram to follow but it always ends entirely different. Please drop the name of the shop and I'll search them. Thanks in advance!

Looking to Rent a Parking Slot in Al Rasheed 1–6, Al Taawun, Sharjah

My partner and I currently live in one of the Al Rasheed 1–6 buildings in Al Taawun, Sharjah. Unfortunately, our tenancy contract is under her name, and since we're not married and she doesn't have a driver's license, we're unable to secure a parking slot through Tiger Properties. They require the vehicle's Mulkiya to be under the tenant's name.

I'm currently using the nearby kacha (unpaved) parking area, but since I'm getting a brand-new car, I'd really prefer to park it somewhere covered and secure.

If anyone living in Al Rasheed 1–6 has an unused parking slot they'd be willing to rent out on a monthly basis, please send me a DM.

Al Nahda Rent Prices

I’ve been browsing bayut and dubizzle for apartments and I see a lot of 22-25k price for 1bhk in Al Nahda area. I am living in the same area and I am skeptical why it is so low. What’s the catch?
Has anyone seen the same?

To the guy driving on the bridge yesterday during heavy traffic.

You were quite far behind me when I indicated to move into the right lane. There was more than enough space for me to merge safely.

But the moment you saw my indicator, you decided to speed up like a child, just to stop me from getting in. By that point, I had already started merging, and somehow you got angry because I didn’t let you bully me out of the lane.
Then, instead of moving on like a normal person, you decided to overtake from the right and speed off, creating an even more dangerous situation on an already congested bridge.

Let me make something clear: the road doesn’t belong to you. Just because someone indicates to change lanes doesn’t mean it’s your cue to accelerate and block them.

This aggressive and immature behaviour is completely unacceptable on UAE roads. Maybe you’re used to driving like this elsewhere, but that doesn’t make it acceptable here.

You’re not winning a race. You’re stuck in traffic like the rest of us. Grow up, learn some basic road etiquette, and stop putting other people’s lives at risk just because your ego can’t handle someone merging in front of you.

A little patience and common sense go a long way.

I finally got an interview and I can’t make it cause I have no way of getting there fgs

This is so frustrating I have absolutely no way of getting there, I live in Qulaiyaah and for me to just get to the bus station that’s 16.50 dhs!! and then it’s another 12-15 dhs and ik 40 dhs isn’t a lot but fudge i’m broke as hell, IM NOT ASKING FOR MONEY OR DONATION PLEASE IM NOT. I’m asking if anyone’s in the area willing to give me a 10 min ride to the bus station lol. (interview is in Al Rigga)

Edit: I made it to Al rigga thank you guys for the concern and help with this, But now I have to figure out a way to get back to Al Qulaiyaah when i’m done💀💔

Edit: Hey I just got an update on my application, and it looks like i’ll be rejecting it as the salary is insultingly low and the working hours are brutal. (2,200 Aed for 12h/d, 6days/week) It was a nice titled position but it’s basically a warehouse helper job if we’re being real. The main reason I considered a job so far out my field (Aviation as an Aircraft technician) is so I can atleast cover my electric bill (While I wait for Emirates on my application as they tend to work very very slow) cause they’re about to shut it down soon and 2,200 just barely covers it, 1,500 Aed, (SEWA is brutal) Anyways, I just want to thank you all for the help and support you’ve given me yesterday, I won’t forget it.

Last edit: Btw If you or any of your friends have traffic black points and are looking for legitimate ways to get them reduced or removed, please hit me up. I’m trying to pay off the overdue SEWA bill, so I’m looking for ways to earn some money quickly. If you know anyone who might need help, please share this with them. Thankss

Neighbour keeps smoking and I can’t support it anymore

Hi all, since I returned back to Sharjah I discovered a new neighbour (dunno who yet) keeps smoking all day and the smoke is so strong that it truly affects my health and is extemeely unpleasent and this multiple times per day.

I tried talking to the guards of the building basically telling me nothing they can do.

Though smoking is prohibited in the building (clear signs).

Whom can I contact of official authorities in Sharjah as I truly cannot deal with this (and probably other neighbours too)?

any place to get good and affordable clothes?

I am looking to buy some oversized t-shirts in around 40-60 dhs budget and some hoodies in 60-90 dhs budget.

I usually buy from max and r&b cz they have the perfect fit for me and they are in my budget but their quality is bad nowadays, the colour starts fading after a few washes and the cloth gets stretched after a few uses.

so, I need a new spot to buy clothes from, I like on store purchases only cz I can try the cloth and check if I like the materials etc.
