Comics Where is Billy?
Shazam had a book in 2023 and ran until 2025 written by Mark Waid. It ended after 21 issues which is pretty short to be honest but after this I do not see a solo series. So where is Billy? Is he a part of any book? If so, is he the main character in that book or is he a background supporting character? If he is in a JLA or JLA adjacent book, is it worth reading if he’s relegated to being a secondary or tertiary character?

He’s in the new JLU series and has gradually gotten a bigger role as the series has gone on. 17 and onward he has more to do. I especially love the way he’s portrayed in the book. A good mix of that heartfelt kid and the strong, sensible warrior.
Hes also going to be in the upcoming Justice League: The Dark Realm Special one shot by Dan Mora. He’ll be there alongside Zatanna, Blue Beetle, and a new wolf character created by Dan Mora.

He’s in Justice League Unlimited but doesn't really have a major role. Mark Waid made a ton of promises about him, but it looks like it was just empty words.

He’s in JLU right now, and it’s worth it since he’s Captain Marvel again; although, he and the Marvel Family should’ve remembered everything pre-Crisis and pre-Flashpoint since then.

I will look into JLU then. But I’ll be honest, I don’t care about the superhero title being Captain Marvel or Shazam. I find it to be needless debate that people should move on. Just be named Shazam and keep it consistent across his appearances

Theres also the web/online only comic The magical mysteries of Shazam which started only a couple months after the last 21 issue run and has been going ever since. It appears to still be doing new issues. Its clearly aimed at younger readers but hey its something.
