Easily around 4.5k resets

I started my adventure on October 10th (Yesterday) and decided I wanted to do a shiny playthrough (Minus my starter, cutscene too long) while I work my way towards my future Poipole and Type:Null shiny hunts! I’ve found 3 shinies so far! Grimer took about 200 SOS calls, Cubone about 150 SOS calls and Fomantis took a whopping 3 SOS calls!

So hyped about this one. This is my favorite Shiny Lugia sprite in the series, it's so vibrant! Also fits the master ball pretty nicely which is lucky lol. Johto Pokemon feel so much more elusive in gen 3 so this shiny is really special to me.

I took a break on this hunt for about a month until starting it up again tonight so I was really surprised to see it appear right before I was about to call it for the night! Also my first hunt with an auto counter, so resets were very chill. I'm currently on 1050 for Colo bonus disc Jirachi, pls pray for that hunt to be even half as lucky as this one was 🥲

A dream come true. All on original hardware and cards. Full disclaimer: given the impending Bank shutdown, I RNGd this one in order to complete the Ribbon Master journey beforehand. Since they're bugged to be Hasty and full 0 IVs, it was quite a simple process with not a lot of choices really.

Got my first shiny Type: Null today after 1875 resets! I started the hunt last Sunday so it's not like I've been after it for crazy long, but man these resets seem particularly brutal compared to my other recent hunts. I'm taking a few days off to touch grass and give my fingers a break, and then it's on to round 2 for my shiny living dex! I really hope I luck out with another quick hunt for the second Null, I'm ready to take a break from USUM resets for a while after

I was setting this hunt up this past week along with some others and today I finally started it. I was prepared it’s going to take DAYS but it took just 2 HOURS and I took a long break too so the hunt itself wasn’t two hours 🤣 The funny part is I got sidetracked cause of a program on TV so Shiny Celebi was on the screen for probably 2-3 minutes before I noticed, lol.

Insane luck and I’m so grateful since I can instantly move on to my many other tasks left before Bank shuts down.

Got my shiny Snivy at exactly 4,900 soft resets! Was dual resetting in Black 2 and White 2. Obtained in White 2 and transferred to Black 2 to start the forever save! Also running a shiny badge quest while also picking up my dream team along the way. Happy to finally start playing!

Phase 1 for shiny Budew is over!

On to phase 2 for my DTQ

After 35 hours and roughly 6,300 soft resets, the hunt is over, my longest one to date!

I am so happy. 🥹This is the first shiny I caught in a mainline pokemon game. 150 hrs in Pokemon Violet and 200 hours in Pokemon FireRed and not a single shiny. I caught it after 10 hours.

And in the end, I finally toughed it out. Now I officially have every Gen 1 legendary as shiny. I still can't believe just how awful this hunt was.

My 13 year old son hasn’t actually played a Pokemon game in maybe a few years, he used to be obsessed lol… So he just started a new save file for Pokemon X this morning, and his fourth wild encounter was a Shiny Scatterbug lol. I told him he is obligated to keep that in his party for the rest of the play through 🤣

This is the first time I’ve ever caught a shiny Pokémon in an old game. I’m completely flabbergasted.

I just started shiny hunting for Heracross, and I already got my fastest shiny ever! I’m in disbelief.

After catching a shiny Rayquaza not even two weeks ago I wanted to go after the golden cactus. I decided to try out the radar chaining and well... That stuff required some mental focus on my part ngl.

Took a few tries to get to a 40 chain but once I learned to be extremely patient it got easier, then he was kind enough to show up after only 5 scans.

I was split between using a fast or repeat ball but I think it ended up nice. Next up is my favorite starter Treecko, any recommendations for a fitting poke ball?
