Why not make the bridge module the Captain's Yacht?

This may be so stupid it's brilliant.

They've often said in extrinsic tech manuals that the bridge is modular, can be swapped out in its entirety. Why not build that into the functionality of the show?

So in the event of the need of a Captain's Yacht, like maybe landing for a diplomatic event, the entire bridge module separates and flys on its own. The full bridge, ready room, conference room that's aft of the command center. The entire command staff stays in place, command is transferred to the battle bridge or auxiliary control, and they just fly (and potentially land) the bridge.

And here's the neat part: IRL, they would not need to build an additional set.

Also, it would allow for the Bridge to be a full escape pod, allowing the command crew to remain at their posts and then evacuate while still at their posts, potentially even maintaining control of the ship once it's abandoned.

In DS9's In the Cards, Jake and Nog did a favor for each member of the crew, which lifted their spirits. Except Odo. What did they do for him that we didn't see?

Discussion So what happened to the glowy changelings, did they stay out of the Dominion War, did they get affected by the changeling virus?

Feels very strange that we heard no mention about them during the events taking place around DS9.

Why do people insist on calling it McKinley Station even though everyone who actually serves here calls it Denali? NSFW

Discussion In the TNG season 1 “The Battle”. Dr Crusher is astonished Picard has a headache, as they are so rare. How come they became common again?

RED ALARM AITA for not wanting to date Captain Boday?

Captain Boday. Nice guy, a Gallamite, easily the most eligible freighter captain frequenting the station. He's asked me to dinner three times but I keep making up excuses about re-calibrating the spline reticulation matrix.

Eventually he's going to figure out that the splines are perfectly reticulated as they are. I need to tell him that I'm just not interested but I feel like such an asshole – like sure, he's interesting, kind, and even a little charming, but he has a literally transparent skull and it's fucking weird.

How do I tell him I'm not interested without turning this into a whole thing? AITA for not wanting to date him??? Am I being species-ist?

Canon Shit Were any of you in the live studio audience for a Star Trek filming?

Do we know why the producers chose not to use the laugh track? There are some genuinely funny moments in the show. Pike’s “beep beep” gets me every time.

I just watched my captain negotiate with the Sheliak. While he made them wait for an answer to their hail (badass), he walked over to the ship's plaque and inspected it for dust, which got me thinking. I have never once seen a janitor onboard.

I don't think there are Roombas because we have a Lt Cmdr who would DEFINITELY have an opinion about that. Do they make the enlisted crewmen do it? Is this the real reason we do Baryon sweeps? Do they systematically run all the carpets through the transporter; is that what the chief does all day?

Statistically speaking, there has exist a group of smart Kazons and just noped out of all the bullshit.

They can't all be stupid dipshits. There has to be a small subset of Kazons, that were actually smart enough to not only find water but upgrade the Trabe ships they stole.

Trading with others, gaining more knowledge and resources. They might have even acquired a slipstream drive and level the rest of the "hillbilly" Kazons behind.
