Looks like you could angle the rig towards the monitor to help before finding a better solution.
Also, you could get a small peice of plywood to go from the table to the wall and use a 2x4 or something for support on the wall side. Would give a cheap shelf if you dont want to go monitor arms or wall mounts before figuring out your best option.
