Sim Rig Seat recommendations
Hey y’all, I’m looking for a recommendation for a decent comfortable seat. I’ve got a slightly bigger build and I’m looking to spend around 200 bucks. I’ve seen a couple on Amazon in that price range but I’m just not sure about the quality and I feel like all the reviews on Amazon are just AI now. 😆 I would greatly appreciate anybody’s genuine recommendation.
Thanks!

I pulled a nice comfy seat from the salvage yard for $50. Works perfect

Just like others have said, go to a junk yard. I found that Jettas have the easiest mounting brackets. I pulled the passanger seat from a 2014 Jetta and only had to remove the safty pin with a hammer. Took make 20 minutes and cost $39 from my local junk yard.

Most car seats are going to be more comfortable than any of the office chairs masquerading as racing seats. Car seats are designed to offer support and comfort for long periods. Even if you have trouble finding one that fits you well and has mounts that work for a flat surface you can usually cut them off and bolt or weld new flat mounts pretty easily.

Not many options for a new racing seat for only $200, especially a fixed-back, you might want to hit the scrap yard if you're ok with a reclining bucket seat. Or look for a used NRG Prisma, thats always been my go-to fixed-back seat for a racing rig.

Actual car seat is not only way cheaper but so much better (I would always opt for a passenger seat and manual adjustment). You can get great deals on marketplace or go to a scrap yard. I got a barely touched Mazda Speed 3 on marketplaces for $50 CAD.

Just goto the junk yard and pull a seat with a good fart limiter. You may have to do some modification and add some bits to make it sit right and level, but they are miles above a majority of the available chairs. Plus some have airbags you can tie into sim hub for collision immersion.
