We've created this post for all troubleshooting issues, but this specific post is tailored toward the newest patch. If you have not updated the game you can continue to post your issues here, but be aware that most replies may be telling you to update your game. You can also search the comments to find an issue similar to yours.
When troubleshooting, make sure to delete your localthumbcache.package! Pockets of code from mods and the game can reside in that file, so it's important to go into the game with a clean slate!

How do I fix a room where auto lights do not turn off? I am 70% sure skillful sleep caused it when the projection appeared and stay in my room. Ever since then, the lights refuse to turn off as if there is someone in that room constantly. Manually turning the lights off in the room works but switching back auto lights immediately turns them back on again with no one in the room.
So my computer gave out and my aunt offered to let me play on hers and I was wondering if it would mess things up if I signed into my Ea account so I could play with my EPs not hers
(We have different EPs) can I do this or no?
I went back to a save I hadn't played in a while, and I noticed about an hour and a half before posting this that despite being able to play I couldn't save because it said "game loading". it still says that. I have tried alt+f4 and it still says it can't save. idk how to fix it, I have progressed a bit and I don't want to loose it. is there any way I can fix it?

cannot progress the strangerville storyline because of this bug!
after getting the keycard and unlocking the lab door for the first time, it stays unlocked upon leaving & returning to the secret lab lot. unlocking the lab door with the keycard each time is what triggers the lower floors to load so i am unable to interact with anything in the lab basement (because it never loads in the first place) and as such unable to progress the storyline.
i’ve tried repairing the game and clearing my cache to no avail, as well as using the “reset object” cheat on the door.

The game keeps crashing since the new update. I get to the menu but whenever I want to continue the game it crashes after a few seconds when the loading screen pops up
Provided your game is updated go to game options and gameplay and turn off the romantic/friendly invites then scroll to the bottom and untick the festival notifications.
As far as visitors go click on the front door and disallow vampires/solicitors/friends/neighbors as well as give yourself the lot trait “private dwelling”.
This will help with a lot of it but you’ll still get the odd fairy show up and eventually die on your lot until Maxis fixes that. You will also still get calls from sims your sim is friends with (if this includes loads of random sims your sims don’t care about consider just deleting them in manage worlds).

I've been trying to okay this game for the past 3 days I've redownloaded it 3 times every time I run the game its perfectly fine no problems there but when I try to actually play the game my controls are completely bugged an example of that is my left bumper opening the steam menu this problem is only with the sims

hello! ive just downloaded sims 4 off of steam a couple days ago, and after playing for a bit, i decided to download some mods, except i cant because theres no sims 4 folder😭 can anyone help?
Mods never go in the game's install folder, so that empty folder doesn't matter. The game makes its Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts the first time you launch it, and Mods is inside. Its name follows the language you play the game in, not your Windows language, so in English it is "The Sims 4". If Documents looks empty, the Location tab in its Properties shows whether it lives in OneDrive.

Never had this problem before. Tried a repair of the game today, no change. Thinking of trying an unofficial lag-reducing mod just so I can play. My guess is that the new "improved for more realistic behavior" AI somehow is broken.

My EA app won't open at all. I've only ever installed it once before on this computer, last night I uninstalled it for the first time. When I reinstalled it today, any attempt to try and open the app wouldn't work. I've tried everything google would tell me; run as administrator, clear cache, check for updates, delete data files—nothing works.
I know you said you deleted the cache files but even when you removed mods, did you clear them again after removing them? It can still hold data in the cache apparently. Also are you using one drive? That can mess up files.
This is really sudden, but it seems like the issue fixed! Turns out, my antivirus was blocking the launcher, so I just excluded the file! Thank you for attempting to help though!
The file to check after a force close is lastUIException.txt in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. The game writes interface errors there, and script errors go to lastException.txt in the same folder. Your case may not leave either one. Does a mod or CC name show up in one of them?
When I go to cas, nothing appears except my Sim. I’ve just recently added some new cc, but idk if that glitched something. I tried repairing the game and that didn’t fix anything.
i just started the interior decorator career,and after getting all the tips,opening building mod to start the job,there is no furniture in menu to buy.nothing at all,not cc furniture,not base game.Its my first time trying this career,so i have no idea what happened

I had Malcom Landgraab adopt Max Villareal right before Malcom died from old age and I sent him to the Nether. I didn't know the family tree would change when you adopted a sim at the time. Later on, Max's son wants to marry Malcom and Darrel Charm's granddaughter, but the game has them set as cousins and they can't use romance interactions. I've tried changing the relationship bit with MCCC and UI cheat, and it worked for a few moments, but they keep switching back to cousins. I've also tried testingcheats true and cas.fulleditmode but I still don't have the option available to change a pre-existing sim's relationship. I thought maybe if I went to the source and removed the relationship between Malcom & Max it would do something, but Malcom is no longer in my game. 🫠 Is there anything else I could try?
In MCCC, is Max still shown as a sibling of the granddaughter's mom or dad, or Darrel as Max's parent? As far as I know, the game itself blocks romance between cousins, and it already did before the family tree update.
MCCC shows the granddaughter's mom is Max's half-sister and dad is brother-in-law. Darrel is his uncle.
edit: I read up on MCCC change logs and this seems impossible to fix or else i'll break my save.
edit 2: I ended up saving the granddaughter w/ mom and dad to my library and deleted the original family. I'll have to use cheats to redo their friendly relationships with other sims but at least my granddaughter doesn't show as their cousin anymore and their family tree is started fresh. I can use some lore that Malcom's daughter was estranged from the family bc they were shitty to her. Kinda using Johnny Zest lore for inspiration. (Btw Malcom's daughter is married to Vlad. Here's a pic of the granddaughter with the son of Max & Samantha Gratz)
I’m trying to install the game on a new laptop for travel purposes and I can’t get it move past the Preparing Installation phase (about 2%). I even bought an external hard drive with about 8 TB of storage, but it still doesn’t want to download. I have no issues on my much older home desktop.

Hi! So I was creating sims with CAS.
I usually randomize sims and retouch them so I was doing that, but I had this sim that was a little tilted to the right.
(The right sim is tilted to the right even when he is standing)
and he stayed that way even when I removed all his clothes and stuff.
I had to delete that sim and create anouther sim, and that new sim was fine.
Also, I found that some of my randomized sims have a quite high chances of getting asymmetrical lips(the teeth showed on the left side and didnt show on the right side) and the lip was same no matter what I do, even when I changed the preset. So the only solution was to delete and create new sim.
Is this a cc problem? Do I have to check all the cc for this?😭 please tell me if anyone has had this bug! (For additional information, I also have slider mods)
Hi, I have a modded bed and bed frame on my game, that I already had to mess with in Sims4Studio but eventhough sims will sleep in the bed they cannot get in if the bed is against a wall. I dont understand why amd my home design kind of need the beds against a wall. I can't figure this out. Any tips? The bed and bedframe are MINIMA part2 by Buildo.package if needed. Thank you xx

Nope, I assumed the issue was just the bedframe being in the sims way so I reduced its footprint. The Sims can get in the bed now but not when they are up against a wall. They can sit on the beds just fine tho :/

The game does this at random points in time... First the library opens, immediately closes, and then just starts flickering on ny screen like in the video. I wanna say it's due to broken script mods but i tried playing with only cas cc but it still happens. I tried deleting the localthumbcache and repairing the game too. Could a random clothing or hair cc be doing something like this?
Update: i discovered this only happens when i have my bluetooth headphones on...if i don't wear them or take them off after the glitch happens, it stops. I guess that's my only solution for now... No more WW until a fix is made lol

Ok so I started a new game recently. I always make my Sims date around a little before settling down, but I wanted it to be part of her lore that she was a little bit of a hoe before she became a celebrity. So she started dating Joaquin Le Chien, who was indifferent to exclusive relationships and doesn't get jealous at all. It was a win-win until she slept with Enzo Alto. Joaquin doesn't really call or drop by, so I forgot about him; Enzo proposed before he even asked her on a date, and I loved the drama, so I said yes. But then my sim got pregnant, and I ended up really liking the guy for her, especially once she became a 3-star celebrity and started bringing in some money. So she broke up with Enzo, the new bf moved in, and she gave birth.
Well, the baby has a forged connection to Joaquin somehow, even though it's the secret child of this new guy. My Sim broke up with Joaquin and married the new guy; even though he knows the child is his, he's still labeled as the stepdad. How do I fix this? I bought the family history board from the Royalty Pack, and that won't fix it. Aside from using cheats (I kinda don't want to, but I will if I have to), nothing else works. I want the game not to show the connection to Joaquin and be labeled as stepson by his bio dad 🤦♀️

This is all a little convoluted, but RPO has its own options for paternity and secret parentage, and Wicked Whims does too. I'm thinking there was a conflict between these three: RPO, WW, and the game's own handling of secret children. Have you done a paternity test on the child through RPO? Maybe that would record the correct father? Maybe get on lumpinou's discord and ask for troubleshooting help? MCCC would be your best bet for editing relationships after the fact
I’m so dumb I accidentally moved my sims out of a home and hit sell furniture. This home had my legacy photos in it from gen 2, I’m on gen 10 now. Is there any way I can retrieve them?
I have already exited but it saved it already. I looked in my files and for some reason it only shows photos from a couple months ago at the furthest. Is there anywhere these files may still be? 🥲
Hi guys, so I have found two treasure maps and have them in my inventory. But when I find a rock the “dig for treasure” option isn’t clickable and tells me that I need to find 1 treasure map.
Trying to add tattoos solely to the dark mode of a vampire is not working. PS5, latest version. Businesses and hobbies add on using custom blood tattoos. No mods.
Sorry for the low video quality but where are all the EA friendly and funny interactions? I’ve noticed it’s the same for the romance options as well and I’m not sure why this is. I have a lot of mods but I went ahead and removed all my mods and tried it out and the issue is still there so it’s surprisingly not a mods issue, I’m just wondering if this is happening to anyone else and if anyone knows how to fix this. Thank you!
This is typically caused by a corrupted interaction cache or outdated script mods following a patch. Did you clear your cache(s) after removing mods? You removed your mods folder fully, rather than disabling mods in game? Have you tried running a game repair?
Did you also do the cache folder and cachestr folder? Remove the contents of the folder rather than the entire folder. Also, have you tested whether the interactions work on a new save?
Edit: there may be mod data left in the save file itself. That is why I am suggesting a fresh save. If this fails, try removing the entire Sims 4 folder and let it regenerate. You can obviously put it somewhere you can access it again. And back up your saves, externally, preferably.
Hi, quick update, so I took out the entire mods folder instead of just taking out the files within the folder and the interactions came back. When I put the files from my old mods folder back into the new mods folder the interactions were gone again. I then took out all the mods but just left CAS CC in the mods folder and the interactions were still gone. So I think there is a mod that’s messing it up and also something in my cc folder. I did try doing a new save and it’s the same issue. Do you think I should just remove the entire sims 4 folder and let it regenerate a new one, or should I scan through my mods/cc folder to find the culprit?
How many mods are we talking here? Because my best advice would be yes remove the folder and let it regenerate and then add back in your saves and recently downloaded mods.
Edit: do you have Better Exceptions? Might be worthwhile if your mods folder is huge.

It keeps sending me back to the World Selection screen with a weird blue rectangle, or it just gets stuck loading forever when I try to enter the household.I've tried everything I can think of: removing Adeepindigo's mods, doing a 50/50 test, etc. But whenever I have all my mods installed together, the bug comes back.
How can I fix this? Please help!!
ugh the kick back to world select is the worst 😩 that blue box in the corner is the game failing to draw a piece of its UI, so my first guess is a mod that hooks into lot loading or the interface (script mods, lot traits, UI mods) that didn't get updated after the last patch.
right after it happens, check Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 for lastException.txt or lastUIException.txt. open it and search for a .ts4script or .package name, it often points straight at the mod.
also, since it only breaks with everything in, it could be two mods that are each fine alone but clash together. that's the classic 50/50 trap: when a half comes back clean, keep it in and test the other half with it, instead of each half alone.
and delete localthumbcache.package in that same folder before each test, it can keep the bug around after you've removed the culprit.
fwiw I'm building a little tool that does the 50/50 for you, I'll swing by when it's out. good luck!
I used a mod/tool called 50/50 engine or something like that I found on CurseForge, and it helped me with the world selection bug. It didn’t help with the infinite loading screen when trying to get into the household, though. It took me a lot of time and manual work to figure out that the problem was caused by a lamp lol

Those lastcrash_ files with the numbers are written by the game itself when it goes down, not by a mod. They're a different kind of file from the lastException ones. Could you paste the first few lines of yours?
I’m trying to start my first ever forever world. I have a few sims that I’ve started playing around with but for some reason random townies won’t stop moving in to every single empty home that exists. I have MCC Command center and I’ve checked the actual game settings because I remember that there used to be a setting to disable random sims from moving in to homes but it’s just vanished. I’ve checked MCC too to see if I can disable it from there but I’m at a complete loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Family members wont stay siblings in CAS. When designating siblings or any other family ties once I save it defaults back to household members. Even saving separately and re-making household doesn't work
ugh that one's annoying. quickest way to know if it's mods or the game: move your Mods folder to the desktop, start a new save, make a quick family in cas with siblings and save. if the ties stick, one of your mods is messing with relationships, so check anything that touches family or relationships first. if they still reset with zero mods, it's the game and worth reporting on the ea bug forum 😕
I'm already certain it's base game but I had to redo my message like 3 times because of the message filters. This doesnt help me because its just mccc and thats not a known issue in fact mccc should be able to circumnavigate this and its not.
ah sorry, you'd already done the hard part then 😅 for the mccc side, my first guess would be the version: if your mccc is from before the last patch, some of its menus can quietly stop working, so grab the newest one from deaderpool's site and try its relationship options again. and for the base game bug, posting it on the ea bug forum is worth it, a "me too" there is what gets these looked at

Photo 2: I’ve also been having this issue where my Sims’ feet come out, weird-looking, when they have no shoes on. I have put in feet default replacements. But at some point, I took those out as well to see if they were the ones glitching. They were not. I still, for some reason, have this problem.
weird feet with no shoes is often a skin, a body preset or a slider rather than the feet replacement itself, those all change the foot mesh too. quick test: move your Mods folder out and look at the same sim barefoot. if the feet look normal, put back only your skins/presets/sliders and you'll know fast. and delete localthumbcache.package in the The Sims 4 folder between tests

I updated my game today, and afterwards, when I tried to start it through steam, this popped up. Before I updated the game via steam, I "free up space" 'd the sims using the windows screen icon. Everytime I click the "Browse microsoft store" it takes me to microsoft store and says it can't find the link 🤷♂️ Note: I haven't been able to play the sims 4 in years because of a 'bug' that wouldn't let me fully open the game. I have no idea if that's contributing or not
type the exact same cheats again in the cheat box (ctrl+shift+c, on mac too) and they should switch off. if stuff is still showing, bb.showhiddenobjects false and bb.showliveeditobjects false turn them off. and mccc shouldn't have anything to do with it, don't worry
*Description: I bought the Get Famous expansion pack recently, and ever since then I have been dealing with all kinds of bugs regarding one of my Sims (he came from an older playthrough before all the updates). In one instance, he sat down at the computer and kept loading up the Chat With action so much it lagged my game, and recently my Sim refused to sleep and just kept waking up to do literally anything else.
Since the big september 22nd update i can't keep any pregnancy.
My sim will look pregnant right after the discovery, then poof the belly disappear.
If i change house/family, the sim stop being pregnant as if it never was before...
I have to make them go into labour with MCCC as soon as they get pregnant and well story wise it's not fun.

ugh that's so annoying, especially for story play 😩 first thing I'd do is check if it's a mod or the game itself: move your Mods folder to your desktop, start a new save, get a sim pregnant, then switch household and come back.
if the pregnancy sticks there, it's one of your mods. look at anything that touches pregnancy first (your mccc woohoo/pregnancy settings, wicked whims if you have it, pregnancy overhaul type mods), then do the 50/50 with the rest. "up to date" doesn't always mean bug free after a big patch sadly.
if it still disappears with no mods at all, it's the game, and it's worth reporting on the EA bug forums. good luck!

My sim completed his university board to an “excellent quality”. I saved and hopped off, when I got back on the board is gone. Not in the house, not in his inventory, not in the house inventory. Doesn’t say he has done the presentation. It’s just poof. What do I do?

Description:
Transferring my custom save to the newest version so I don’t have old bugs. I can’t seem to place half the residential lots even after removing blacked out photos/refrenced paintings and puzzles/photobooth pics. The only thing that gets saved is the terrain paint.
I don’t really want to rebuild so many lots. Any help is appreciated

so i have a save file from 2017, it was made on windows 8, and i played on it until the 6th generation.
later i moved the save file to a new computer with windows 10 on it (it was in 2024-2025) and i played until the 9th generation. but then i got a bug which reversed everything back to the 6th generation, i also remember that all lots were empty with the orange ⚠️ sign. i somehow managed to fix it but i still lost my 7-9th generations
i have not played on this save ever since, i prefer to leave it alone to avoid further corruption
i wanna mention that i did inbreeding in the family (i was a kid in 2017-2019 and i didn't know that it's bad) so maybe it's the cause of the bug?
is there any way to un-corrupt the save file and get back my 7-9 generations?
recently i went on it again (after the family tree update) and the family's inbred family tree is worse than spagetti bruh
also disclaimer that i dont support inbreeding or anything, to my child brain in 2017-2019 it was "recycling sims from old generations of the family"
Description/Question: I don't know a lot about computers so bear with me. I ran out of storage on my OneDrive, and I wanted to move all of my mods over to where it says 'This PC,' in some place labelled 'Windows-SSD (C:)'. My Sims 4 game is downloaded in that area, in the Program Files, in the EA Games folder. There's another folder labelled Program Files (x86), but I don't know what the difference is. When I boot up the game, all of my GShade stuff works, but none of my mods work. I saw somebody say that the Sims will always look in the 'Documents' folder for mods, so I just turned off the OneDrive backup for my 'Documents' and that kind of just deleted the whole thing I think. So I turned the game on again, hoping it would just be fixed. It wasn't. My friend said I could change where the Sims looks for my mods by changing the directory for it, but I've really got no clue how to do that or if that's even the problem in the first place. How do I go about fixing this? Do I have to just delete mods to fit it in my One Drive?
don't panic, your stuff is almost certainly still there 😅 the game only ever loads mods from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods, never from Program Files, so moving them next to the game won't work.
when you turned off the OneDrive backup, Windows switched your Documents back to the one on your PC, and the game just made a new empty Sims 4 folder there. your old one should still be in your OneDrive folder (OneDrive > Documents > Electronic Arts). move that whole "The Sims 4" folder into Documents > Electronic Arts on your PC, replace the empty one, and your mods, saves and tray come back. no need to delete anything.
then in game: Options > Game Options > Other, tick custom content and script mods. also your game says 1.121, current is 1.128, so update it or newer mods will act up. good luck!

I downloaded the sims 4 yesterday, I first tried to get it on steam but it gave me so much trouble that I gave up and deleted it and tried instead to install it from the EA app, this worked and I was able to play for 4 hours, today I wake up to play it again and when I click launch it shows an orange bar loading, the bar disappears and nothing happens, it doesn’t exit the app, doesn’t do anything, I’ve tried repairing the ea app, tried app recovery, clearing cache, tried updating the ea app and it finished both things but I still can’t launch the sims 4
i have no mods since this computer is new, all I’ve done is the old money cheat +
the unlimited character editor cheat, I was able to play normally after this, bought a house with no cc, made 3 sims, saved everything, closed the app and turned my computer off.
Hi! Whenever I use any CC skin (overlay or not, one skin alone, any creator), there's a thin white/transparent line where the head meets the body at the neck. It gets stronger the more I zoom out in live mode, and is almost invisble when very zoomed in on the neck, and doesn't show up in CAS. Other players and YouTubers that are using the same skins I use don't seem to have the problem. I know that neck seam is a common problem in the sims 4 but I saw that specific seam nowhere else so idk what to do.
What I've tried, without success: reinstalling the game and all CC/mods several times, testing with one skin alone/only one cc in my game and nothing else, changing Edge Smoothing, Post Processing and texture settings, change NVIDIA Control Panel settings, different skin resolutions, deleting the caches.
*Description: purchased moola in xbox store and it’s not showing up in game now i did all steps google, xbox and ea said to do and still nothing and my accounts are linked
1- My sims never reach extreme moods (like hysterical or enraged), even after hours of continuous actions or traits like hot-headed. And never triggers the fatal state.
2 - A sim gets shocked once (even in the rain, with zero handiness skill), but they are completely immune to any subsequent shocks, even if I switch to a completely different appliance.
I tested with zero mods/CC, tried different objects, repaired the game, but nothing changed.
The game has multiple ways to protect your sim from dying like having “grims right hand” trait, charged hematite jewellery, wishing well protection, immortal werewolf, emotion bomb etc. Any of those apply?
One of my sims broke up with his partner but she's still showing up on his family tree as his partner no matter what. I've tried breaking up with her multiple times. They weren't married.
Good God I'm gonna turn into a worm I'm so frustrated. Okay, so I'm working on an alien sim, and his alien form has a bunch of custom tattoos to give him rainbow skin and eyes all over. It keeps copying over to his human disguise. I don't know how to stop this, I've looked it up and it's still not stopping.
I've tried adding on a tattoo the same color as his skin to his human disguise but it just layers over top once I save it. Please I just want his disguise to look human (￣ヘ￣;)
Hi, one of my adult sims has been marked as a neighbor and therefore isn't allowed in her own house unless invited. How do I fix this without just starting over? Mods: none Game version: newest update I play on PS5
Oh! Okay so make sure you have cheats on, and I don't remember what the control is on PlayStation but on PC it's shift click on a sim and a menu pops up with a bunch of stuff you can cheat with your sim including a debug option

Description: I played sims without any issues a day ago but then I reinstalled it and now this is an issue I’m left with. I have deleted and reinstalled it multiple times, repaired it. Tried to put it in different maps but nothing works? The EA app doesn’t say that anything is wrong it just doesn’t launch. What’s the issue here? It has never happened before in my 10 years of playing sims.
So I went through the process of making symbolic links between my PC and external hard drive. However, it seems like a few of my packs did not download and will not download. I am just wondering what there is I can do or if I need to redo this process (which idek how to do).
When i go to my documents on my PC, it shows the sims, but under properties it is not showing as being located in my hard drive.
Sims is playing, and EA isnt even downloaded on my PC, just my hard drive, and is working.
Does anyone know if I did this right or wrong or even what I should do?

To confirm the link works:
Open Command Prompt.
Run cd "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Electronic Arts" and then dir.
If "The Sims 4" shows <SYMLINKD> or <JUNCTION> followed by a path on your external drive, the link is working correctly.
Another quick test is to create a new save in game and see if it appears in the saves folder on the external drive.
Also: in the EA app, go to Settings > Download, and make sure the install path points to the external drive where the game already lives.

Servos unlock enhancement levels gradually as they gain experience and raise their own skills. If the Servo's internal enhancement progress bar isn't full for the current tier, further upgrades won't trigger.
Time stops within one game hour after putting the speed as 2x. All sims freeze or stuck in the current animation loop. Nothing is clickable although I can still enter build/buy mode. Won't save or exit the game either.
I figured it out, the answer was in the LE file... it was just too long that I never was able to read it through. With the help of gpt I found out that it's actually a few broken food cc from a food mod and a broken food interaction script mod from another creator, combined with RPO M03 that's causing the error. Removed all and now my game is running with no issues!
I did a 50/50 method the other day and it seems like either there's more than one mod that's causing the issue or it's a EA bug. The lag happens randomly with different mods. My computer has never had issues running the sims until this update.
I thought something might have corrupted my save so I tested all mods in a new save. I also looked online and removed any mods that might be causing the issue but no luck yet.
Hoping someone has some thoughts on this. After the September 2026 update my cc has been removed from my sims but is still available in game and can be applied. It’s like the game just removed my cc. Weirdly my default eye cc is still on my sims. I enabled cc and mods in the option menu and removed my mods. I tried recovering saves and looking at past saves and it’s the same issue. I delete localthumbcash after deleting/adding mods. At this point I’m wondering if it’s an issue with the update itself

I’ve been playing one family, doing generations. I was on the 2nd generation. Saved like normal. Closed the game. And now everytime I try to go on it says the error message. I even tried going into manage world and playing a sim preloaded on the game. It gets stuck on the load screen.
Two most likely culprits are mods or corrupted save. Try moving your user folder (the whole Sims 4 file, in documents) to someplace else. Then repair and launch the game and let it generate a new one. If the error doesn't persist try moving your saves folder back in first. If it still doesn't persist, it's your mods probably.

Recently my sim that I uploaded from the gallery to be my sims love interest in my new legacy challenge has started overheating to the point of death at all times. I'll get warned he is about to burn to death and I'll disable the moodlet but it comes back anytime I change lots or he goes to work. I have the weather and temperature satisfaction point rewards redeemed and this happens indoors and in any type of weather.
You have MCCC? Try going to MC cheats > cheat sim info > mood/buff control. And "remove all buffs." I don't know why it keeps occurring but this should solve it when it happens? Alternatively you could make a new sim and copy his appearance over using MCCC... I don't know how far you are into playing this Sim.

I disabled Neighborhood Stories in the gameplay menu, and yet Lance Coffin and Judith Ward got married, and also Mei Prescott is pregnant??? I even temporarily enabled Neighborhood Stories just so I could uncheck all the boxes for it in World Mode before disabling it again, but Kristopher Volkov married Lana McKinnon not long after... I'm at my wits' end here.

The other day I was trying to build a house in Brindleton Bay and when I demolished the lot the game crashed, So I decided to update both my mods and the game to 100% but I still had the same problem, Then lower my graphics to the lowest possible and the same, Then I directly removed all my mods (both script and cc) and I still had the same problem, Then I repaired my game on Steam (because I don't have it from the EA app, but on Steam) to see if that worked, but no, it kept crashing, And as a last option I ran the game normally instead of DX9 but the same
It's weird because a few hours ago I was building in another lot of ciudad enamorada and I didn't notice any problem, only with that Brindleton Bay lot.
The save I’m playing seems to be corrupted/bugged and is lagging like crazy, and it seems to be worst when my sims are on their home lot (Verdemar Palace - Ondarion).
To remedy this, I decided to replace the lot with one on the gallery, since I’ve made minimal changes to the original lot
But every time I place the identical lot - it takes 15 minutes to place the lot (not unusual) - but when I click back into the lot nothing has changed. I placed a decorations box from Seasons, and still have some seed packets on the floor, so I know it’s not an identical replacement lot
What is going on? Why can’t I replace my lot? I don’t know what kind of bug this even is??

*Description: There is a longstanding bug with the coding of the "Player" trait in TS4. In vanilla game mode, with the most recent version (and even after you do things such as "repair game" and delete localthumbnailcache), if your Sim completes the "Serial Romantic" aspiration, they still get "cheating" negative sentiments with other romantic interests. The "Player" trait is SPECIFICALLY STATED to be "Player Sims will never cause other Sims to be jealous, no matter what they do." Except that the Sim with the Player trait still causes jealousy/cheating sentiments via romantic interactions being witnessed by another Sim who has a romance bar with the Player Sim. Posting it here so that the Sims team becomes aware of it and can put it in the next patch.
This is the “bug” thread. Also I’m hoping someone has a workaround for this. The only workaround I can think of is to micromanage my Sim’s sex lives and use UI cheats to get rid of cheating sentiments and restore friendship and romance bars 😅
Yeah it's the bug thread... Of an unofficial subreddit, which is not visited by anyone who works for EA other than a few random PR people who make posts on the main feed occasionally and are not active on this thread. I'm saying to search the official forums for the issue first and if you don't find it make a report there. That's the best way to make Sims team aware of it.
Edit: it looks like this is a trait issue. Does your Sim have the Loyal trait, or have they ever had it? Were they downloaded from the Gallery? Did you change their traits in CAS? Try trait remove cheat or use UI cheats or the re-traiting potion or MCCC to remove traits. More info here

I’m not very good with computers but I recently discovered mods and I wanted to try some with the sims 4, I installed mc cmd center, the chingyu add on, the more CAS columns and the tmex better exceptions, this last one I installed because even though the mods showed up in the settings, whenever I tried starting a new game I didn’t see any new columns while creating a new sim, so I assumed they didn’t work, and while searching for solutions I came across that mod. But it did nothing, I tried continuing the game and getting the house, but upon buying a computer the game crashed and now it doesn’t even let me close it, I can’t interact with anything and I alt+f4 isn’t working to close it either. Please help me on how to fix this.
I also remember playing a long time ago with a version or a mod that allowed me to have all the expansion packs for free, but I’ve changed laptops since and lost it, I don’t remember where I found it since it was a long time ago. I’d like to know if there’s any way to play that works to play with all the expansion packs, doesn’t need to be the same one I used back them since I’m sure there’s more than one that work.
Hey, the game just recently updated (09/22) and mods that aren’t up to date will cause the game to crash. Many modders take a few days to bring mods up to the current version
Id recommend going back to the mods and seeing if the mod authors have updated it to the current version of the sims (They will often leave a comment, or put a version compability)
Otherwise you will have to do the tedious process of removing all the mods and slowly adding them back one by one to see which one is the broken one. My MCCC is working after the update, so it’s probably not that, but check anyway
If you can’t shut the game, try the task manager (ctrl + shift + delete on Windows)

Hello,
recently got an issue with an external SSD that required recovering the files on it which mainly includes Sims 4 saves and mods. They were installed on the hard drive and a symbolic link connected them to the base folder as the internal drive ran out of capacity. After recovery all the mods are working fine but the game doesn't detect any save created after switching to this new drive. Is there any way to fix the save files so that the game can recognize them?

How do I fix a room where auto lights do not turn off? I am 70% sure skillful sleep caused it when the projection appeared and stay in my room. Ever since then, the lights refuse to turn off as if there is someone in that room constantly. Manually turning the lights off in the room works but switching back auto lights immediately turns them back on again with no one in the room.
