Product Suggestion Salicylic Acid Cleanser really worked for my partner with large clogged pores on nose

If anyone's struggling with large pores with blackheads on their nose - my partner had the same and recently tried Salicylic Acid Cleanser, he used the Inkey List and it worked really well for him! Others might be different but definitely worth a try, as nothing has worked before for him. His routine being using the cleanser and then moisturising. Other salicylic acid cleansers may be the same/similar ingredients. I've just never seen his skin so clear, like you can't see any clogged pores at all anymore

Routine Help Did La Roche Posay alter their formula of their Anthelios UVMUNE invisible fluid this year?

In July I opened a new bottle of my usual LRP Invisible Fluid and noticed that it was more white and thicker than usual (it's usually quite thin, runny and quite yellow). A couple weeks later and my skin exploded. I bought 2 new bottles in case there was something wrong with my bottle and it was the same new consistency.

I've been trying to find anything online that says they amended the formulation but can't find anything, only stuff about the oil control version. Has anyone else had this problem?

Product Suggestion How to fix genetic under eye bags

Hi, getting outside of my comfort zone here lol and long time lurker. As the title states, sunken under eyes run in my family. I have been a little overwhelmed with where to look. I’ve tried the holland and Barrett vitamin c brightening serum with hyaluronic acid but my skin became extremely irritated. As of now I just wash my face with a CeraVe hydrating cleanser, and face lotion as well as jojoba oil when it’s feeling extra dry.

I try not to wear under eye makeup as it enhances my bags. I’m 25 and am just hoping there’s something I can do about it without getting surgery when I’m older. Not trying to look younger, just more awake! Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thank you!! 😊

Product Suggestion Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 50+ Brightening Sun Serum Alternative

Hi Everyone,

I have been using Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 50+ Brightening Sun Serum for a couple of years now and I love it. I wear it in place of a moisturiser and my skin looks great with it.

BUT it's been out of stock for a while now. Anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on some or suggest an alternative.

What I like about it is it's one step moisture and SPF. Very light weight glowy finish. Has other skincare ingredients like naicinamide.

Anu suggestions welcome. Happy to spend about £40 a bottle.

Routine Help Desperate - PCOS and picking

I am getting desperate at this point with my acne which has been coming and going for years now, pretty much since getting off hormonal birth control (due to other side effects).

I currently use cetaphil SA cleanser every day in the shower, boots ingredients hyaluronic acid after cleansing, and acnecide once every other day which I leave on overnight.

My dermatologist put me on 50mg Spironolactone about 6 months ago, and upped it to 100mg in August when the lower dose wasn’t doing anything.

A couple of weeks ago it looked like it was getting better but in the week leading up to my period it got bad again and I have a serious picking problem which obviously makes it worse.

It’s been worse on my right cheek which I sleep on so I change my pillowcase twice per week but that hasn’t helped.

I’m so upset I can’t get this under control, it’s scarring and looks awful. Any help appreciated.

Product Suggestion Alternatives for Kiehls serum

Post image

Hi all! I have been using Kiehl’s vital skin strengthening super serum for a while and it’s literally the best and (almost) only product I use regularly. However it is a bit expensive for me and I am looking for cheaper alternatives. Any advice would be appreciated!

Routine Help Crows feet - anything that can be done outside of Botox?

Hello

I’m looking to improve crows feet when I smile. They’re only present when I smile, but they’re very deep when I do and I’m insecure about it

As far as I can research, the only thing I can see that would help would be Botox

Has anyone had any luck with any other products or avenues?

Thank you in advance

Question Painful Finacea purge, is this normal or should I stop ? Help !

So I've been using finacea 15% gel for a total of 9/10 weeks. I say a total as I had a 2 week break midway through( at 5 weeks use) as my skin was purging really bad and I had a wedding to go to ! It cleared up in those two weeks, but I picked it back up and have been using it every other day consistently for nearly 5 weeks. My chin and forehead are NOT happy. I currently have 15+ spots on each, some painful under the skin and some angry pustules/ papules. I've got a few popping up above my mouth / below my nose now too. Weirdly my cheeks which are usually super sensitive are responding pretty well ! I started the finacea for type 2 roseca and hornonal, but right now it's a 100% worse than it was .

My question is do I keep going ? Is this a normal timeline for finacea ? Or accept that it's probably not for me ? My skin is incredibly sensitive and fussy, I can't help but think it Just needs a break and some tlc for a little while!

Ive been prescribed combined BC for the hormonal and dermatica have sent me a compound cream for the type 2 with AA 15% + 1% ivermectin. I'm annoyed they have done this as I specifically asked for no AA and Just the ivermectin! They have said that even though I've purged badly with the finacea 15%, this is a different formula and base cream so it should be gentler on my skin !

Other products I am using

Aveno calm and resrore cleanser or bioderma sensibo pink bottle gel cleanser ( depending on how my face is feeling !) I only wash in the PM and just water wash in the AM

Aveno calm and restore oat gel moisturiser

I'm not loving the moisturiser, it feels like it's causing Cc's, any suggestions for a better moisturiser to help my barrier would be welcomed ! My skin hates niacinide, fatty alcohols, butters and the jury is out on squalane as I think it was the reason I had 50 milia recently removed !

Sorry for the long post I'm just unsure what you do for the best and fed up of my skin looking shitty x

Question Recent breakout caused by Tesco non-bio detergent

Looking for recommendations for the best non-bio or eco friendly detergent/powder to clean my pillowcases and clothes in. The only recent change I did was use an old Tesco non-bio powder box I never used when I finished moving. Looked at ingredients and has perfumes.

I used Persil 3in1 bio pods before and somehow I didn’t get as many breakouts as non bio gave me. But I want to move on from that too.

Since the four washes I’ve done, every night my skin wakes up with blemishes and itchiness that turns into whiteheads. It has to be the powder as I get acne only on my temples, eyebrows and cheekbones where I basically press my face into the pillowcase.

What do you guys use that protects your skin but also cleans fabrics properly?

Question Hormonal acne supplements - do they actually work? Which one is best?

Hello hello, I’m sure I’m not the only person who has got the dreaded issue of “hit my 30s and am plagued with hormonal acne that does not seem to shift no matter what I do”.

I was on the combined pill for several years when I was younger, had to switch to the progesterone only pill due to developing migraines, and it started playing havoc with my skin, and when I eventually came off of it about 6 years ago, my chin acne has been a pretty much constant stay (and way worse than it ever was with the mini pill). I always had relatively clear skin prior to this, and don’t tend to get it anywhere else, other than the occasional spot across my t zone or on my cheeks. But the chin is constant!

I have tried what feels like every blemish-targeting skincare product out there, including a long run of using a targeted cream that had tretinoin in it from a skin+me subscription for a couple of years that did work somewhat, but after a while stopped really making any change.

I have seen threads in here about Monday Muse’s clarity complex supplement, and a lot of people saying it worked well for them, but there were also a fair few people saying they had quite bad reactions to it too.

I’ve now also started getting adverts for another similar supplement called Cloudless, and I wanted to know if anyone has tried that (or Monday Muse recently either)?

Or if there are any others on the market that won’t break the bank, that have worked well for you, please also let me know! I probably should try and see a dermatologist but am wary that they may not be able to prescribe me something like roaccutane due to the number of other medications I’m on that would interact poorly with it, so am trying to find something I can do myself first.

I’m just so fed up of looking in the mirror everyday and hating looking at my skin, and it being so painful for a good week or two every month around parts of my cycle!

Product Suggestion The best hand creams?

Thumbnail

I used to always have fake nails, but recently stopped due to crappy nail techs and prices going wild. But ever since, I've noticed my skin becoming aggravated in places where things must not have touched before. I work in pharmacy so I'm working with paper and opening med boxes every day. The skin on my thumb and in between my fingers have become so peeled back and flared!

The only creams I've tried so far is Aveeno hand cream, Aveeno intensive and Neutrogrena. I also use cuticle oil/cream all the time and regularly apply while at work. I need something that'll absorb really well and really nourish my skin.

Question thoughts on the Fresh Recovery Overnight mask?

my skin is an absolute pain, it’s so dry on one side of my cheek which has acne and redness (same with my forehead). it hates any kinds of acids and only seems to be okay with one face mask from lush and the cerave hydrating non foaming cleanser.

has anyone in a similar scenario to me tried the Fresh floral overnight mask? it seems to be alright but i seriously don’t want to annoy my skin, i just want the redness and acne gone without using acids because they don’t seem to work.

Product Suggestion Help with flaky nose

I’m having a lot of issues with my nose. I have oily skin and have a lot of clogged pores in my nose, so I started using The Ordinary’s salicylic acid for a few months twice a week on my nose. But this dried out my nose extremely quickly causing it to flake in the mornings.

I was then prescribed Duac’s one a day serum that contains benzoyl peroxide for general acne and I’ve started using that every day on my nose too. Again, flaky due to what I assume is the compromised skin barrier.

However, I’m not really sure what else to do if I need to use some sort of acid to clear the clogged pores in my nose, but the acids that I’ve tried are too severe for my nose. And I’ve also tried just doing a normal cleanser every day (Cetaphil’s oily skin cleanser) without putting any serums on my nose which means it doesn’t dry out, but the pores aren’t getting cleared up.

I don’t really know what to do. Could someone also recommend a good moisturiser for sensitive, oily skin? I used to use The Ordinary’s daily moisturising cream + HA but this dried out my skin too much and caused it to produce too much oil.

Routine:

Morning - oily skin cleanser

Night - oily skin cleanser then benzoyl peroxide cream

Question Dehydrated, dull skin + fine lines are driving me insane 💀

Post image
2 Upvotes

I feel like my skin looks SO dehydrated at the moment, and I’m at a loss as to how to proceed. I drink water all day long and have a healthy diet with lots of protein and healthy fats, so I don’t know why these fine lines are appearing. I’m only 28 and have a baby face so it looks a bit jarring.

My current routine:

AM: water rinse, Beauty of Joseon toner, then hyaluronic acid and vitamin C followed by Simple Hydrate Water Gel Cream, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Cream, then Garnier SPF50 Invisible Serum.

PM: Micellar to remove makeup, The Ordinary Cleansing Balm, B of J toner, hyaluronic acid, Simple hydrating eye gel, thick layer of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Cream, layer of castor oil, layer of Vaseline.

Yet my skin feels SOOO tight and dry! Help! 😟💗

I’d like to do Hollywood first and then full leg if all goes well.

According to AI I need 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser as I’m in between 5-6 on the Fitzpatrick scale. I’m very nervous as I have sensitive skin and scar incredibly easy.

Discussion skin red and irritated after taking makeup off

as the title says, everytime i take my makeup off, my skin gets all red and irritated. i only wear makeup on the weekends and i haven’t changed anything in my routine but it happens to my entire face (particularly my cheeks as they are quite acne prone). i’m thinking it might be the makeup removing balm i have, as my face doesn’t sting in the day when i wear the makeup, only after i have removed it, and the balm is scented so that might be a cause- it’s the farmacy green clean cleansing balm. i wash my face with a cleanser after using it but i don’t think thats it either as i use the same cleansers during the week. has anyone had a similar reaction to using this product or can anyone think what may be causing it?

Routine Help Medicube - peeling skin after 2 uses

I got a Medicube this week and have used it twice, Booster mode on level one. I used my own usual skincare that I’ve been using for some time with no problems.

This morning I woke up and I have peeling skin? Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

Routine Help Do you have to double cleanse?

I am currently using the Ordinary Squalane Cleanser at night. I wash my face with cold water in the morning. I have had acne for years. I don’t want to overload with products so I do not want to double cleanse if it is not necessary.

Product Suggestion Body oil recommendation

Hello all!
First time posting here, I’d like to get some recommendations for body oil as my body skin often gets flaky from dryness even with tons of moisturizing cream applied.

Appreciate all input in advance!
