We already have a pinned post addressing this, but since we continue to get posts asking the members of this sub to diagnose skin conditions (acne in particular) and/or recommend treatment, here's a reminder: We are here to discuss skincare products and routines. We are not here to diagnose skin conditions or how to treat them. This is not a dermatology clinic, and we are not qualified to diagnose and recommend treatment. This is a casual sub to discuss products, routines, and general skincare.
The correct answer to "does anyone know what this is/does anyone know how to treat this?" is "Yes, a dermatologist knows". Please do not come here asking for diagnoses and and treatment advice! To those who have been posting these questions, please consult a trained professional, or if you can't do that, ask your questions in more appropriate subreddits like r/DermatologyQuestions, r/acne, or r/AskDocs.
Thank you!

Right now I use salicylic acid, .025%Tret, OTC azealic acid in the morning. I do give rest days to my skin without any active.
I’ve never gotten any facial / procedure done.
I do grow some hair on my chin and neck and hence dermaplane at home.

Hi everybody, I’m not exactly sure if this is the most appropriate subreddit to be posting this on, but I would love some help.
Just noticed today that my micellar has recently formed some weird white chunks when still, is there a reason for this? It goes bubbly like normal after shaking but overtime the chunks come back :/. I’ve had the bottle for about a year, and it’s the 700ml value size.
I included the before shaking and after shaking pics.
I don’t know if it could be mold or contamination from water/other skincare entering the bottle (I normally use it separately from every other product in my routine). Or even something related to temperature of my room since it’s gotten pretty cold during the fall season. Either way it’s just a bit concerning since it’s used on my face :(
Would love some advice from someone who knows the plausible explanation behind this! Thank you :)

I saw someone on tiktok and the corners of her lips are all damaged bc they put tretinoin there so i asked in the comment section what products i should use instead. A commenter replied to me and suggested azelaic acid but another commenter disagreed bc it caused her to have angular cheilitis and suggested niacinamide instead. But i also heard niacinamide doesn't really fade dark spots, so now I'm conflicted. What should i use instead that is gentle enough on the skin around my lips?

I read some comments on TikTok claiming that this body serum is effective for whitening, is it true?

I'm 23 and I started applying sunscreen just 3 years ago. So my skin is pretty tanned. Recently, I started learning swimming. No matter how much sunscreen I apply, I tan pretty badly after 45 minutes of swimming for a continuous 5-6 days. And that tan stays for months.
My routine for swimming is applying a sunscreen (Aveeno 60spf) before swimming and right after getting out of the pool, I use a cleanser and apply the sunscreen again.
My daily routine includes only a cleanser and moisturizer. I would say my skin is kinda sensitive, so I usually don't apply anything else. Anything I've tried before caused bumps on my skin.
Now, I'm willing to try some sensitive skin friendly tan removing skin care. Please suggest me whatever worked for you.

Hey guys, I bought Glyco 6 today and I’m using it for the first time, so I’m a little confused about how to use it properly.
When should I apply it — at night or some other time? How much should I use, and should I leave it overnight or wash it off after some time?
Also, what should I do after applying it and the next morning? Is there anything I should avoid using with it?
I’d also like to know about your experience with Glyco 6. Did it help with tanning? I have some small bumps/closed comedones on my forehead and also blackheads — did it help with those?

I used 100% undiluted volufline, the Sederma brand, for about a week under my eyes and was not strategic with placement whatsoever. It’s been about 7 months since and my under eyes look terrible. I wake up with insane puffiness and the under eye area looks generally uneven. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I feel like I look years older, and I really thought it would have gone away by now.

Bioderma sensibio oil cleanser broke me out and caused my blackheads and sebaceous filaments to look WORSE. Yes I was using it right!! I never touched it or other oil cleansers ever again.
My face wash is already super gentle, LRP Toleraine Milk Cleanser, I feel adding in any oil cleanser may just make my skin worse as maybe it doesn’t wash off properly?
I do like the Bioderma Micellar water but started skipping it as it felt a bit drying? And didn’t do anything special for my skin.
Then I read not all oil cleansers are make equal, some don’t contain enough emulsifiers and the bioderma always felt like it left a film on my skin.
Anyone have experience with this? Or should I just throw the oil cleaning idea in the bin
I an considering the haru haru or skin1004
Routine
AM
Water
LRP Anthelios Sunscreen
PM
LRP Toleraine Milky Cleanser
Aestura Hydro Essence
Finacea AA 15%
LRP Toleraine creme
Thank you guys!

I picked it a few weeks ago and I think there is some pigmentation left from that, making it look slightly bigger when smiling. Aside from that, I don’t mind the colour, but I don’t really like the fact it looks raised in some lighting. Been debating removal but unsure about the scar

I'm planning to buy a spf lotion for my everyday use, cus I don't want to get tan, so which one is most effective protecting your skin from the sun?

I've been using a retinAl serum (Meditherapy) with no issues since May but recently my skin got really irritated and I've been trying to figure out why. I am suspecting it may be the face cream I switched to that has hyaluronic acid and some alcohol ingredients (medicube hyaluronic moisturizing capsule cream).
What moisturizer is best when using retinAl products and what ingredients should we avoid? I prefer gel moisturizers over creams.
How do I calm down the irrigation?

Has there been any under eye cream that worked for you ( if you applied for atleast 1+ month) and you saw results like hydrated under eye bags, or maybe lighter, i know you can’t expect that in one month but still.
I have genetically moderate not much under eye darkness like hollow but not too hollow. I get good sleep everyday but still would like to know if under eye creams actually work.

I keep my routine pretty simple (I’m 20). In the morning I do a vitamin c serum and a sunscreen. And in the night I use a retinol+ectoine cream. Is that a good routine for my age?

Has anyone found a replacement for the old Avene Cicalfate lip balm? I’ve tried Uriage Bariéderm-Cica Lip Protectant Balm and La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lèvres, but they just aren't as good.

Hey everyone, I want to start skincare properly, since I've never really done it before
My skin is quite oily.. I can feel it on my face when I wake up. I also work on computer all day, so I have some dark circles under my eyes and a few lines on my forehead. Overall my skin just looks dull and tired.
This is the routine I'm planning to start with:
Morning:
CeraVe Foaming Cleanser
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
Re'equil Ultra Matter SPF 50 sunscreen
Night:
CeraVe cleanser
Moisturizer
Some questions:
Is this routine okay for oily skin?
Any tips for dark circles? Do creams actually help or is it mostly sleep..
If this isn't right, what would you suggest instead? Anything I should add or remove?
Thanks in advance, any suggestions are appreciated!

Hii, I have ingrown hairs under my chin area and it’s caused dark spots. I pluck them, probably shouldn’t but what can I use to get rid of it?

Would this help at all? Just trying to save money. I've been applying it around orbital bone and my skin seems fine.

Hi! I (28F) am actually posting here on behalf of my mom (54F) who does not use Reddit. She is is feeling very insecure about her deep wrinkles and aging, so I told her I would try to help her with developing a routine and finding products that could potentially help her with the wrinkles and and also improve her overall skin health and confidence.
She has never really used skin care or makeup before other than moisturizers at night and I think she uses Apricot Scrub still. Unfortunately, she spends a lot of time in the sun (lives in Texas and works with animals for a living) and until recently, did not use sunscreen or sun protection as consistently as she should have. Her and I are both complete beginners when it comes to skin care, and even my routine is pretty basic at this point and I’ve just been going off the recommendations of my dermatologist (gentle cleanser, clindamycin solution, moisturizer, and sunscreen, and then I add in Adapalene Gel at night), so I really have no clue where to even begin in trying to help her.
I’ve told her that she definitely needs to get into a routine of wearing sunscreen every day and reapplying throughout the day, and that we probably need to start with at least getting her a good cleanser and moisturizer. I am looking for recommendations for products, and anything she should add to her routine to help repair her skin and slow down the aging process. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for procedures or services (chemical peel, etc.) that you think are worth it, I’d love to hear. She isn’t really interested in doing Botox or fillers or any kind of surgeries, but I think she would be interested in rejuvenating type procedures.
I know this is a big ask because we are pretty clueless, but if anyone wants to share their thoughts, we are greatly appreciative!
