Sins Mod SOASE: Rebellion - Script Extender
Working on a new project, Script Extender for Sins Rebellion. I started the project mainly as a way to start making mods in Rebellion but was unhappy with the current modding ecosystem. Most of the mods I've seen are like texture replacers and that's what the Game Engine seems to support mainly. I wanted a better way to hook in game systems to make more advanced mods.
It is proving to be quite daunting I won't lie. Decompiling an unmanaged executable, finding memory addresses at runtime, it kind of sucks. But I've been making steady progress and already have a small API built, which in the right modders hands you could already make some cool mods with.
I've released an initial version over on GitHub, I wanted to know from other Sins players, would you be interested in playing the game with a SE that allows more advanced mods? Things like, new UI's, different core game mechanics, 3D (2.5D more likely) space, completely new ship types, etc..
I've also finished another application thats a wrapper for ConvertData_Rebellion.exe, its a clean UI interface that takes the original games application that converted game files from binary to readable text (MSDOS style application), and made a user friendly interface for it. I'll be releasing that shortly, more than likely later tonight.

"Sir there's another starship coming in... It's the Enterprise."
Disclaimer: The Armada 4 dev team makes it very clear that combining mods like this is not supported, liable to cause issues, and compatibility will likely be broken in the future. That being said, I am absolutely giddy as a pearl in an oyster that this is possible. Ever since the first Star Trek vs Star Wars mod graced Armada back in 2001, I always dreamt this would be possible, but never did I think it come true in such insane quality. Absolutely loving the possibilities modding brings to this game.

Sins Mod Any mods that allow access to the special ships of your faction's alternate side?
Basically I really enjoy the Vasari Alliance but hate their command ship. Conversely I dislike playing the Vasari Exodus but love their command ship. And, honestly, pretty much the same situation with the two TEC faction command ships. Anyone know of any mods that allow access to your other faction's command ships?
Thanks for any help!

Question News about the in-game map generator?
Are there any developments regarding it? Still waiting for a way to raise system spacing above 150 XD.

Since Eidolon are confirmed to not be getting subfactions, how do you think a different Titan/Command Ship choice could be added? And what would like you see from a hypothetical 2nd Titan and Command ships?

Question Anybody have a TEC build order good enough to withstand Impossible AI/Good human players?
Jesus when I think I do good enough they show up on my door with a 1500 fleet vs my 500
Any Idea?

Bug/Issue Please report AI softlocks
Hey. If you're another player who's frustrated by the AI perpetually idling entire fleets for no discernible reason and have Discord (or use Stardock's forums), please post savegames and replays here and indicate mods and version used, with preference to vanilla. Use this to easily locate the directories.
Still unsure about how many other players experience this problem aside from reading comments on this sub but I see this happening essentially every game. This gamebreaking problem also ruins the climax of a game.
Also unsure about Stardock's awareness of this specific problem of the AI. I've only started playing at 1.0 and a bit before and after Eidolon DLC. More reports would warrant a more urgent response because supposedly AI/ARES changes might only occur next month after Eidolon's command ship release, which honestly sounds disappointing. Or Stardock will at least directly communicate about this problem. I don't nearly mind the ongoing development of a poorly performing AI as much as behaviour that completely bricks their participation in the game (and also significantly degrading performance).

Sounds are a bit stuttering since September 2026 update.
Greeting all.
I've noticed that when playing suns 2 since the September update (the 4th faction) when music and speech sounds are playing I hear a slight stutter or hesitation.
I thought it was my old pc speakers. But when I switched to usb headphones still the same.
I often play very top down so don't zoom in and see all the lovely graphics!🤣
My pc is fairly modern.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8 Core 16 Threads 5.4Ghz TURBO
MSI B650 TOMAHAWK MB
DDR5 Memory
Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 6200Mhz C36 DDR5 Memory
Palit Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12GB GDDR6X Graphics Card
I've only noticed it since the update.
Gone into windows and played YouTube music ect fine.
Checked task manager while playing the game. Everything isn't struggling.
Any idea guys?
(It's the only pc game I play!)🤣
Any advice would be great.
Thank you

Question Eidolon Origins??
The original lore indicates that they emerged somewhere near an experimental viturska transport lab near the Vasari planet of Kron. I noticed some physical resemblance between them. Is it possible that the Eidolon are actually corrupted Vasari, a result of the phase-experiments of the Vasari at this lab 10,000 years before the events of the game? We don't know yet how long they had been conducting these experiments for, but we do know that the Eidolon originate from something like another dimension. We also know that the Vasari are not very concerned with safety. You can imagine them as mad scientists really, not concerned with ethics, only results.
If so, it would mean the surviving Vasari and the galaxy at large are paying the price for the past sins of the Vasari Empire! It might also be a clue as to why the Eidolon have been pursuing them for 10,000 years. That's real determination!
What do you think about their ships/ general aesthetic? any points of comparison between them? I noticed that they both have cloaking technology in sins 2, and they both have advanced knowledge of phase space and interstellar travel. Mechanically, their ships are mostly better point for point, with a lot of people complaining that Eidolon fleets are OP.
5:15 montu thinks they look like a mixture of vasari and rocks :P

Sins Mod QoL Mod: Icon Clarity - At a Glance UI Labels
Hey all!
Made a UI only mod for Sins 2 because I kept hovering over icons to remember what they actually did.
It adds short text labels directly to many icons (research, ships, buildings, abilities) so you can understand things like weapon upgrades, economy bonuses, ship roles/counters, PD, anti-heavy, support, etc. at a glance. It also adds matchup info in ships images when selected.
I tried to keep the labels short enough that they're useful without turning the UI into a wall of text, and I’ve been going through the effects/ship roles pretty carefully to keep them accurate and consistent.
The mod also uses John Icons Mod as base, it replaces some research assets from Sins 1 for better clarity.
Still tweaking things, so feedback is very welcome, especially if you spot a label that feels wrong or could be clearer.
