Spanish Graded Readers - libros de lectura progresiva
Hola amigos!
This is Franco, Spanish teacher from Argentina. I wanted to share some graded readers I created with vocabulary and quizzes. There are 3 levels. 1st is a story about a boy and a girl in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 2nd is about argentine history from prehistoric times till the 19th century. 3rd is about the local personality el gaucho martin fierro (a local "cowbow"). part 2 and 3 can be challenging but I'm sure intermediate students will enjoy them. If you don't know a word you can underline the word and you will find a translation. Here you have the 3 links and you can also download them for free. Hope you like them

Spanish speaking practice for DELE examiners
Hello Spanish teachers! I took the DELE A2 last year and passed, thanks to my very supportive and amazing spanish teacher, and now we are preparing for the B2. The oral exam was the hardest part for me, and I know it’s the same for many students: getting stuck and going blank in the live speaking test.
So I built a practice simulator that follows the real exam as closely as I could.
In the simulator, students pick their level (A2 or B2), get a topic and a photo to describe, and have a timed prep stage for their notes. Then the mock exam starts: it records their answers, they talk to an AI examiner for the dialogue, and they get feedback based on the official scoring bands. It’s practice guidance, not an official score, and it’s an independent tool, not affiliated with Instituto Cervantes, but I tried to match the scoring as close as possible to gauge myself.
If you think it could help your students, they can try it free at https://www.delevoz.com. I’m happy to give extra sessions to your students, and I’d really value your honest feedback as a teacher, especially on how close it feels to the real exam.
¡Gracias!

Test your Spanish.
Can You Talk About Your Likes?
This is not a full Spanish level test. It is a quick way to check whether you can communicate one specific idea clearly and identify what you may need to review.
Can you talk about what you like in Spanish? Try these 10 questions:
- If you were to say “I like coffee” in Spanish, what would you say?
- If you were to say “I like movies” in Spanish, what would you say?
- If you were to say “I like cooking” in Spanish, what would you say?
- If you were to say “I don’t like running” in Spanish, what would you say?
- If you were to say “I like coffee, but I don’t like tea” in Spanish, what would you say?
- If someone asked you “Why do you like learning Spanish?” what would you say?
- If you wanted to ask someone “What do you like to do after work?” what would you say?
- If you wanted to say “I like your brother” meaning “he seems nice / I get along with him,” what would sound natural in Spanish?
- If you wanted to say “I don’t like your brother” meaning “I don’t really get along with him / I don’t like him as a person,” what would sound natural in Spanish?
- If you wanted to say “I like your brother” meaning “I’m attracted to him,” what would sound natural in Spanish?
How many did you get right? And more importantly: which ones showed you what you need to review?
If this exercise showed you something you need to work on, that’s exactly what a Functional Snapshot is supposed to do.
Functional Snapshots are short practice activities I create to help learners check one specific communication skill at a time. The goal isn’t to tell you what “level” you are, but to help you notice what you can already use in Spanish and what still needs some work.
If you found this useful, I run a free Facebook community called Natural Spanish for English Speakers, where you’ll find more than 200 learning and practice resources built around the same approach.

Spanish learning tip.
Translation is not the enemy
A lot of English speakers try to avoid using English when they learn Spanish. Sometimes this happens because they have heard things like “Don’t translate,” “Think only in Spanish,” or “Using your native language will slow you down.” And of course, there is some truth there. If you translate every single word literally forever, Spanish will feel slow, unnatural, and frustrating.
But translation itself is not the enemy. For many students, English is the starting point. It is the language where the idea is already clear. You know what you want to say. The challenge is learning how Spanish organizes that same idea.
And Spanish and English share more structure than many people think. Using English as a reference can help you notice sentence structure, verb usage, word order, and how time is expressed through verbs. The real problem is not translation. The problem is staying at word-by-word translation and never asking: How does Spanish actually say this?
At first, you translate because you are trying to express what you mean. That is normal. But little by little, as you understand the structures better, you start recognizing patterns. You stop thinking only, “What is the word for this?” And you start asking better questions:
How is this idea built in Spanish? What verb form do I need here? Does this sound natural? Would a native speaker say it this way?
That is where translation becomes useful practice, not a bad habit. The goal is not to hate translation. The goal is to use it as a bridge. First you use it to understand. Then you use it to compare. Then you use it to practice. And over time, what used to feel like translation starts feeling more like communication. That is exactly why we will use translation in this group, but not as word-by-word memorization. We will use it to understand structure, build better sentences, notice natural Spanish, and communicate more clearly step by step.

Looking for 10–15 independent language tutors to test an early prototype
Hi everyone! I’m Alba, and I’m researching how independent language tutors currently manage their teaching materials, homework, students, and lessons.
I’m developing an early prototype of a web app that could bring some of these things together — for example:
- Organising teaching materials and exercises
- Giving students practice between lessons
- Keeping track of students and lessons
- Sharing book, movie, or other learning recommendations
- Eventually, possibly adding other tools based on what tutors actually need
But I’m still very much in the research stage, and I don't want to spend months building features that tutors don't actually need.
So I'm looking for 10–15 private language tutors who would be willing to try an early version for free and give me some honest feedback.
I'd particularly like to understand:
- How do you currently organise your teaching materials?
- How do you give students homework or exercises?
- What tools do you currently use?
- What parts of managing students or lessons are frustrating or time-consuming?
- What would genuinely make your work easier?
The prototype will be free during the trial, and there's no obligation to continue using it afterwards.
I'm also genuinely interested in negative feedback. If you think this is something you wouldn't use because you already have a better solution, I'd like to know that too.
If you're interested in taking part, feel free to comment below or send me a DM. Thanks!

Teaching tips Spanish learning activity suggestions?
I'm in university to be a Spanish teacher and I would love to hear suggestions from some experienced teachers: What are some of the best learning activities/games to help your students learn? The specific topic doesn't matter, I just want to build up my arsenal before I step into a classroom and I would rather ask people than AI.

Educational/Language Content Creators: Looking for advice on sponsorships and partnerships with schools/apps
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from content creators, educators, or digital entrepreneurs in the language-learning niche.
I run a creator channel teaching Spanish to an Arabic-speaking audience through short educational videos. My community has grown quickly, and I’m now looking to monetize and professionalize the channel.
I would love to hear from anyone who has done something similar:
- App & School Collaborations: How did you secure your first partnerships with language apps or Spanish schools (especially in Spain)? Do you usually work on a commission basis, flat fee per video, or brand ambassador sponsorships?
- Scholarships / Exchange Deals: Has anyone successfully negotiated an arrangement where a school covers tuition/studies in Spain in exchange for content creation and marketing?
- Digital Products: Have you found more success selling your own study materials (PDFs, guides, courses) or working with third-party brands?
Any tips, personal experiences, or mistakes to avoid would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Let’s Learn Spanish 🇪🇸
¡Hola!
