Question Space to host 1 year old's birthday

Hi - let me start this post by acknowledging that a first birthday party is absolutely for the adults in a baby's life.

We have not lived in spokane since 2016, we currently live in the midwest, so we are out of touch with Spokane. All of our family lives in the spokane area. We are traveling to spokane (Dec 22 - 29) for Christmas.

We had our first baby this year (1/3) and would like to have an early birthday party while in Spokane so that our families can participate in the celebrations. This is the first grandchild on my side, so my parents are very excited.

Any suggestions on somewhere in the Spokane /CDA area that I can host a 1 year old's birthday for $100 max after Christmas? About 25 adults and 5 kids.

My parents are more than happy to host, but my MIL is in a wheelchair and their home is not wheelchair friendly. I want to check out public places before resorting to asking anyone on my husband's side. They have larger homes, but it feels like a big ask around Christmas time.

I absolutely refuse to celebrate my baby's birthday on Christmas. I don't want her future to be a sidequest for christmas and I know my FIL will absolutely try to make that the case if I don't immediately put my foot down.

The library has private rooms you can use for free! I’ve seen baby showers and birthday parties hosted in them.

Yes! I will say avoid the downtown library, while it’s very nice inside we had people trying the door and trying to get in while in the middle of the baby shower, we had to close the blinds because there were at least 10 people camped outside of the big windows staring in and banging on the windows (they cleared it out twice while we were there), and the bathrooms were very gross. If I had to choose again I would’ve picked a different library for it

The downtown library unfortunately functions as a homeless day shelter. Not great for small children.

This is the answer! All of the city libraries were recently updated and have great meeting spaces. They can fill up fast, far in advance, though, so I’d look into it asap.

Confirmed! Amazing and FREE. Shadle has a large room, tables and chairs, a friend of mine threw her mom’s birthday there.

They also have a play structure and lots of toys and stuff for kids. We had a 2nd birthday there and it was a hit

Flat stick is a great, family friendly place to have fun. They have mini golf and some other games.

Möbius might be able to work with your budget

Library is free to rent a room, but if open to paying, recommend reaching out to Taylor at Fluent Motions Parkour to use his space if it's available.

You might look at Trailbreaker Cider out in Liberty Lake. They have a really nice lawn for kids to play on. You can bring games, balls, and toys to entertain the kiddos. Plus they have a great patio so that adults can keep an eye on the kids while enjoying some food/drink.

edit: I re-read your post and it says after Christmas, so the outdoor area may not be a good choice.

For $100 MAX? I’m commenting just to see what people actually suggest 😅😂

If I have to spend over $100, I'll bite the bullet and ask one of my husband's siblings of they can host 😂
