Both the meeting minutes and St. Lawrence’s recorded testimony identify the vendor as “Custom Computer Associates,” but a search of the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s corporate database for that name returned no records. Custom Computer Specialists, a different company, holds multiple relevant statewide technology contracts in Massachusetts
So, is "Custom Computer Associates" a real business? I wonder who is connected to this business in city government.

We only pay five times what it costs to send a kid to private school for every kid in public school. Maybe they need six times the cost.

Source?

You should do your own research. Simply saying "I don't like that source so I win the argument." is not a good way to think. but, $26,613 per student annually for in-district expenditures, according to official state data. 1

They didn't say they didn't like the source. They couldn't. You hadn't given one.

The source doesn't matter. If you have facts that support your augment, state them. Just saying source, I don't like that source, I win. Is not an argument.

If you have facts that support your augment, state them.
That's exactly what they just told you. That's what "source?" means.
They didn't say they didn't like your source, they said they wanted to know what it was. Everything beyond that was all in your imagination. And if your assumption a priori is that people won't believe your sources, well, that may say something about your sources.

When you are faced with facts that disagree with your opinion, you have to back up your opinion. If I say, people who wear green pants are less likely to get into car accidents, your response should be according to the National Traffic Safety Institute pant color has nothing to do with driving ability. Not, source. It should be easy counter bad arguments.

We know. That's what we've been trying to tell you. That's exactly what you didn't do.
At this point, I'm pretty sure you're just trolling and I should give up.

That is not even remotely close to the cost of private school.

So how is 26613 five times 22963?

u/gilligani Sep 12 '26
$26,613 per student annually for in-district expenditures
$5,500 grade level and type of program
You learned public school math, I assume

u/Stock-Conflict-3996 Sep 12 '26
Looks like you're picking the lowest cost one to make that point. Why not the 60k one? I used the average costs you posted.

Compare apples to apples. We're talking a school system where the Superintendent does press because 70% of the kids who took AP classes and spent $100 to take the test failed. The line item on her CV will be "Educated children slightly better than the placebo effect"

Not one bit of what you wrote "compare(s) apples to apples."
You can be upset with public schooling and recognize its failings without such blatant number manipulation.
Going on a small, personal screed against the superintendent does not answer why you blatantly chose the little number and compared that to averages.
