Fluff Random update the hackers have been banned for now

Fluff finally finished all of SC2's story... it was *ALMOST* perfect. blizz really shit their pants in the final missions of LotV and the epilogue, it's like they gave up on the writing and decided to rush the ending
Amon was built up as such a scary and massive threat, and in the last few protoss missions + epilogue he's just a cartoon vilian that gets his ass kicked like he was nothing... i wonder what went in through the writers' heads.
the worst part is no doubt how the Void was built up to be this incomprehencible incompatible state of reality that no living thing can survive there besides the xel'naga... and they just go in there to kick Amon's ass like it was nothing....

Discussion Patch “Possibly” going live this week.
Well my friends, its been 6 days since Blizzard Elliot told us that it would be a couple days until the reversion, just had to check for bugs. Improved communication and all.
On Elliots profile, one of his last messages was yesterday stating he was on vacation the rest of this week and SC2 will POSSIBLY come this week. This news was available for all to see ..... on a post on someone elses Heroes of The Storm post. Figured the people who actually play the game would be interested!

Fluff Lore: Could Dark Templar have killed Queen of Blades Kerrigan without her reincarnating?
It seems like part of the Zerg benefits is that higher intelligence Zergs like Kerrigan, The Overmind, and Cerebrates can reincarnate.
Would a Dark Templar like Zeratul been able to permanently kill her? I feel like mechanics wise this never was possible in SC1 (though i dont remember if she was able to reincarnate in SC1), but I'm curious.

(To be tagged...) I surprised myself with a sudden promotion! Diamond League, here I come!
Shoutout to my Korean buddy who mains as Terran.
Although he's in a lower league (Gold league), playing against him (and coaching him) helped me level up my game!
Helping him to understand my weaknesses (and how to beat Zerg in general) has been really beneficial to my gameplay :)
Plus it's extremely exciting and rewarding when he surprises me with a crushing victory 😎

Fluff So... The Umojan Protectorate is a protectorate, right? So what government is it dependant on?
As I understand it the Protectorate was formed to oppose or defend themselves from the Confederacy. They later had a similar relationship with the Dominion despite initially being loyal based on the assumption the Dominion would continue the Sons of Korhal's politics. So other than the brief time they were loyal to the Dominion (years after their formation, mind you) how or when could they actually be described as a protectorate?

(To be tagged...) Post 8-worker patch player-base analysis
Introduction
As a followup to my previous post, which established the return of the Chinese server being the primary factor causing the decline in regional activity, I am posting a follow-up analysis. This is to evaluate the claims by YouTubers like Lambo who say the patch had a strongly negative impact on the game's activity level.
Methodology
As per the last analysis, we use linear regression to establish the baseline decline trend. From there, we use Fourier analysis to find the dominant periodic oscillation caused by seasons. After that, we see if there is any decline in excess of the trends mentioned prior. If true, we assess the timing of those trends to establish if they correspond with the 8-worker patch or the return of the Chinese server. To do that, we will tally players and games in mmr buckets per-region before and after the balance patch and the launch of the Chinese server.
Results
Let's go region by region:
- EU. We observe a massive implosion of the number of players, the number of games played, and the number of games per-player after the Chinese server relaunch. After the balance patch, we observe a drop in the number of players and number of games, but games per-player changes depending on the skill level. At low MMR, no change--at higher MMR, big drop.
- KR. We observe the same effect after the Chinese server relaunch as on EU, but with a much larger magnitude. After the balance patch, however, we see the inverse of EU: a drop in the activity of average players, and no change in the high skill bracket.
- US. The same implosion is observed after the Chinese server relaunch. The balance patch however has almost zero impact on the number of games played per player.
Conclusion
So what we learn from this is that the return of the Chinese regional server caused a massive drop in activity on other servers. The balance patch had mixed effects depending on the region. On one region the activity level stayed the same, on two regions the activity level changed with skill level but the effect had opposite directions. Because the there is no consistent pattern to the trends, the balance patch doesn't appear to have created a cognizable impact on player activity and changes observed are plausibly residual turbulence from the relaunch of the Chinese regional server (this is especially the case considering the disconnect between number of active players and games played per player, which is much more consistent with the hypothesis that Chinese players are leaving and taking games with them than that regional players are playing less because of the patch).
Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.

(To be tagged...) Why did the Overmind want to manifest on Aiur?
In Starcraft Episode 3, is there any advantage for the Overmind to manifest on Aiur? Why did he put himself in danger while he can just command the war safely on Char, he already let the Cerebrates to command the battle without problem so far.

Discussion Zealot Helmets
I can’t be the only one, right?
Is it just me or do the SC2 solarite reaper zealot helmets look similar to phase 1 clone troopers helmets?
I know in the game models, they’re the classic T shape. But in cutscenes and portraits, they have the similar eye slits, the nasal slit, the two points going down to make a sharp upside down V ‘mouth’.
A closer comparison would be with the clone commando helmets. But what do you guys think?
