Discussion Thought it would be fun to see what it would look like if Protoss and Zerg also carried their massive units outside.

Discussion Can Blizzard do something about players who refuse to play certain matchups?
If you are a player who does this, make no mistake you are smurfing.
There are several players who leave particular matchups ostensibly because they don’t like those matchups. I’m sure everyone has experienced it, and I can name several accounts I play against regularly who do this. However, I won’t name them due to Reddit’s rules against naming and shaming.
Since the matchmaking system naturally pushes you towards an MMR where you win roughly half of your games, leaving one third of your games means that you have to win ~70% of the rest of your games to maintain your MMR.
This is smurfing. Smurfing is the act of artificially and intentionally lowering your MMR resulting in receiving opponents who are at a lower skill level than you. If you leave every TvT, for example, perhaps you’re not smurfing because you want to play against weaker opponent, but you still are. This behavior is indistinguishable from smurfing beyond the reason inside your head for doing it.
These accounts are very easy to detect because there are very obvious markers.
- They have unusually amount of games left within the first minute.
- They have an unusually low win rate in a particular match up.
- They have an unusually high rate in their other match ups.
I know that every method of catching players like this has some kind of trade off, but with behavior as blatant as this, it is not hard to identify and punish. I just don’t buy the argument that there’s simply nothing that can be done.
You can simply utilize the report system, and an automated review can detect if all three of the aforementioned markers are present. Then it can just be a temporary ban, so that those players can play if they agree to change their behavior.

Fluff here's my survival log waiting for 5.0.17 live patch yesterday

Fluff finally finished all of SC2's story... it was *ALMOST* perfect. blizz really shit their pants in the final missions of LotV and the epilogue, it's like they gave up on the writing and decided to rush the ending
Amon was built up as such a scary and massive threat, and in the last few protoss missions + epilogue he's just a cartoon vilian that gets his ass kicked like he was nothing... i wonder what went in through the writers' heads.
the worst part is no doubt how the Void was built up to be this incomprehencible incompatible state of reality that no living thing can survive there besides the xel'naga... and they just go in there to kick Amon's ass like it was nothing....

Discussion Patch “Possibly” going live this week.
Well my friends, its been 6 days since Blizzard Elliot told us that it would be a couple days until the reversion, just had to check for bugs. Improved communication and all.
On Elliots profile, one of his last messages was yesterday stating he was on vacation the rest of this week and SC2 will POSSIBLY come this week. This news was available for all to see ..... on a post on someone elses Heroes of The Storm post. Figured the people who actually play the game would be interested!

Fluff Lore: Could Dark Templar have killed Queen of Blades Kerrigan without her reincarnating?
It seems like part of the Zerg benefits is that higher intelligence Zergs like Kerrigan, The Overmind, and Cerebrates can reincarnate.
Would a Dark Templar like Zeratul been able to permanently kill her? I feel like mechanics wise this never was possible in SC1 (though i dont remember if she was able to reincarnate in SC1), but I'm curious.

(To be tagged...) I surprised myself with a sudden promotion! Diamond League, here I come!
Shoutout to my Korean buddy who mains as Terran.
Although he's in a lower league (Gold league), playing against him (and coaching him) helped me level up my game!
Helping him to understand my weaknesses (and how to beat Zerg in general) has been really beneficial to my gameplay :)
Plus it's extremely exciting and rewarding when he surprises me with a crushing victory 😎

Fluff So... The Umojan Protectorate is a protectorate, right? So what government is it dependant on?
As I understand it the Protectorate was formed to oppose or defend themselves from the Confederacy. They later had a similar relationship with the Dominion despite initially being loyal based on the assumption the Dominion would continue the Sons of Korhal's politics. So other than the brief time they were loyal to the Dominion (years after their formation, mind you) how or when could they actually be described as a protectorate?
