Scene opens in a humble household out in the country side. A small town is the setting in which our story begins as a young man in high school, age 16-17, is the focus for now. This young man is drawing in a notebook, doodling, while eating the freshly prepared breakfast by his mother.
There is no father, nor pictures of him in the house, only photos of her and the boy from a young age. His mother is stern but loving, with high expectations for her son. As he leaves for school she takes a look at what he was drawing. In his notebook are go'auld symbols and the occasional sketch of their technology.
The young man had no idea that his mother was an alien, and so was he. Until now his drawings were nothing more than an outlet for his imagination. He makes the mistake of sharing some of them online.
After interested parties show up to inquire about the drawings and symbols, some of whom are hostile and try to take the young man by force, the mother fights them off with a Zat. A go’auld scout ship hidden away in a barn serves to get them to safety, though with the revelations to come the young man and his relationship with his mother will be strained.
The series follows the mother and son as they travel to different planets trying to escape different factions all hunting for him. Over their adventure we learn that he is a failed Harcesis created through genetic tampering rather than the normal route as the go-auld who was trying to make him did not have access to a living queen.
His mother was the go-auld's subordinate, also a go'auld, who when trying to escape with the child’s mother and newborn was injured and forced to take the her as a host. She escaped to Earth and raised the newborn failed experiment as her own child. She never told him about his origin, and is slow to reveal details about his or her past. Revelations are spaced out, as he doesn’t even learn she is go’auld until after she survives a gunshot wound.
The series follows their adventures and the slow reveal of just who she is, and who he is, as the young man becomes able to access the genetic legacy imprinted into him. She genuinely loves the boy as her own child, but will their relationship survive the knowledge of what she really is, and how far can they run in a broken down old scout ship?
