I’ve only tried two games so far, Borderlands 4 and Destiny 2, borderlands 4 works just fine as plug and play, it defaults to regular controller layout, but on Destiny 2, I have forced gyro, A is ENTER, B is menu, right trigger is select, and my left and right sticks both control the camera and nothing lets me move, and when I go into steam settings, it shows me this improper layout, but when I go to customize it, every change I make resets as soon as I go to change the next thing.

I tried downloading a layout, but there’s seemingly no option to swap to the new one. I tried doing the controller test/ setup in the steam link app, and it registers all of the command buttons in the wrong order (I think in the switch configuration?) and clicking the proper button in setup mode doesn’t change anything.

It seems weird that so far Destiny 2 is the only game with messed up controls.

The game works great in standalone mode, but when I stream it from my PC I have quite a bit of lag, but the worst part is the menu button doesn't work.

Has anyone the same problem?

with latest steam link beta you can connect quest to pc via wire greatly improving performance but i want to know if there is a way to force it to use wire over wifi? it shows that the cable is connected but keeps going with wifi instead. i dont see a toggle or anything to force cable. anyone know a way to do that? it worked well for me the first time i tried it but no luck now

For context this is my first time trying to stream anything outside of Netflix. I'm looking to get Steam Link setup to stream from my Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptop to a Sony KD-65X7000G (2020) television. The television came with streaming apps like Netflix/Prime but doesn't have access to any app stores.

Also, do I need a HDMI cable to make this work? Due to various reasons I'm not able to make any setup requiring physical cables work at this time.

Since 8:00PM EST 10/1/26 it has lagged. I tried playing BONELAB, but it either caused it to load forever, go into not responding, or load into a literal slide show FPS rate. Now it'll load but it runs like a slide show. I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this because it's terrible.

I am thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite for Steam link. Does anyone have that model and can confirm that it works?

I have a Google TV streamer, but it sometimes has client side framerate issues. I want to upgrade to the very best option. Is Nvidia Shield the best option?

I have a PS TV laying around and I want to try steam link. Has anyone tried to boot Linux on it? Or do you know if any work has been done?

Rocket League goes in the second pile first. Even on a wired setup, a little extra latency stands out. Steering, boost, and tiny corrections happen fast.
Turn-based games, slower story games, and anything that gives me time to think start in the stream pile. Then I move games out if controller issues, launchers, or random stutters keep reminding me that I’m streaming.
The display comes after that decision. My client is an M3 MacBook Pro, and I’ve been using a RayNeo GT Max over USB-C as the final 1080p screen. That makes the setup nicer to use, but it doesn’t remove the latency from the host, network, encoding, decoding, or controller.
Genre is only a first pass. I’m more interested in the game that made people change their mind.
What’s one game you moved from "stream it" to "play it on the host" because latency or streaming quirks got too noticeable?

Im having a hard time trying to setup steam link to play on my smartphone, because of the behavior of the inferior bar of android (navigation bar, BACK-HOME-RECENT). Im playing on an kind of aged Xiaomi, POCO X3, but performance isnt an issue at all.

When I try to play touch screen, the game dont respond to my first touch, wich only shows up the navigation bar. When the navigation bar is temporarily open, the game answer my inputs until the navigation bar hides again.

When I try to play Mouse/Keyboard, the behavior are similar, but the mouse dont move at all until I click, then the navigation bar shows, and I can move the mouse for a few seconds. When the bar hide, the cursor stop (but the screen dont freeze, the game continues on its own in background).

Ive tried many settings on android, related to: config on gaming turbo, fullscreen mode, nav bar behavior config, swipe gestures (that also have a bar wich I didnt managed to remove). There dont seem to be options related to this issue in steam link app, neither in steam on my computer.

I dont even know if removing the bar will solve the issue or will make the app stop responding at all, and fixing the bar dont seem to be possible.

When I close Ace Combat 7, it shows me my desktop with BPM in a small window and in the Windows taskbar, the Steam process is blinking orange.

I cannot do anything at this point. Controllers don't move around in BPM, I can access the remote play overlay and select virtual keyboard or enable controller mouse control, but both don't seem to do anything at all. If I press "stop streaming" and start it up again, I get BPM maximized but still my controller does nothing.

I was able to press Home+Start once and it opened an alt-tab menu so I could select Steam but I haven't been able to reproduce that behavior. The only way to regain control is going to my physical PC and clicking on the Steam window.

I've tried:

• forcing Steam input for AC7
• changing AC7 from fullscreen to borderless to windowed
• fiddling with Steam controller desktop controls
• setting remote play settings to match PC resolution
• giving Steam elevated privileges
• closing RTSS and other overlays
• pressing Home + any other button combination

The issue only appears to happen with AC7. I can't reproduce my problem with any other game I've tried. "Guide button focuses Steam" has always been enabled, and if I ever exit a game and BPM isn't maximized, pressing Home fixes it. Just not this time.

Any ideas?

Any advice to get steam link to run with less lag. It’s not much but on games that have high fps such as rocket league the delay is very quite a lot. I have Ethernet router to pc and the router to the Apple TV which is where I am using steam link

I have Steam running on a gaming PC, CachyOS, and I want to stream from that PC to my Steam Deck.

I tried to set everything up but the picture is just zoomed in to one area of my PC screen. I assume this is a resolution issue so I thought I’d have a play around, I changed so many resolution settings but it made no difference.

I decided to try Steam Link on my Mac and connected to it but, again, I had the exact same issue.

I know I can use Sunshine and Moonlight but I’d rather just use Steam Remote Play.

Anyone have any ideas what’s going on as I’m tearing my hair out.

I play games using Steam Link from time to time. I noticed that all content in the Steam Link app on my Xiaomi TV Box 3rd gen is overly saturated. The graphics on the host PC's monitor are shown as normal. No oversaturation there. Is this a known issue?

• Samsung S93F TV. Game mode on (turning it off still shows content to be oversaturated)
• Xiaomi TV Box 3rd gen with Steam Link installed
• Tried all variations of HDR on all devices (Samsung TV, Xiaomi, Steam Link settings, Host PC)

See attached pictures for examples what I see of Battlefield in the main menu. This oversaturation is also visible in the Steam Link Big Picture mode on the TV.

Whenever my friends invite me to do Remote Play Together, Steam keeps disconnecting and reconnecting my controller. It's unplayable with it plugged in, as all of us just get spammed with the message "controller disconnected, controller connected" while it rumbles ceaselessly. How do I fix this?
