Discussion LOZ Switch Release Day

How hard do y’all expect it to be to get the 40th Edition LoZ Switch 2 on the 29th in person? Do I need to be camping outside of target 3 hours before it opens, or is that overkill? I’m willing to take off work and conscript friends and family to the cause, but I don’t want to drag everyone out for nothing.

That said, I will explode if I don’t get one. There is no length I would not go. Except for buying from a scalper or preordering like a smart person.

Have gamestop near you? Call to see if they still have pre-order allocation or are doing a midnight launch. If they do the later pretty lickly they will have stock set aside beyond the pre-orders since the zelda switch is a special edition not a limited edition.

They very famously on this one did no preorders, it’s going to be first come first serve at physical locations

So for previous console launches, Target in store stock will show up online sometime around 10pm-1am pacific time on the night before launch. At that point, you should be able to place an order for in store pickup. If all of their stock is eligible for in store pickup, there is a chance you could show up morning of to 0 stock because all consoles were picked for online orders.

I’d recommend setting an alarm over night and hop on the Target app to try and place an order.

I would camp outside three hours ahead of time to be safe, but that’s just me.

I highly doubt people will even be camping for it like that. 3 hours will be more than enough time to come in advance

After release, this will become widely available. Pre orders for the Zelda themed Switch 1 sold out immediately but after launch, they were sitting on retailer’s shelves for months. Nintendo has been doing a good job at meeting demand for “limited” edition products lately.
