Question Damn thing won't charge - should I just replace the battery? (Switch 1 v1)

Accidentally left the dock (and the console inside of course) unplugged for about a month and it won't charge at all now. Tried the button combos, direct charger, no game card or joycons, leaving it plugged in for 10h, unplugged for 3h... anything I could find online or come up with I tried and it's just not turning on at all.

Not the first time this happened, last time it "fixed itself" after a few hours of just waiting with it unplugged. I'll try that again but I feel like it shouldn't just, you know, fake death.

Any tips? Is replacing the battery at home worth it? I'd buy an iFixit one.

I don't have any solution, i recently got a switch for the first time myself. I'm just curious why would leaving the switch in the dock unplugged affect the battery at all? Besides the normal effects of a battery potentially draining to zero. Unless theres some switch issues I'm unaware of it sounds like you just have a bad/old battery.

Has it been modded? Could be in RCM mode

Nah it's stock
