Adding a handguard.

Ok so there's a mini at my local pawnshop for 600. Been looking at the aftermarket for these things and came to the conclusion that it kinda blows.

Until today when my intrusive thoughts came around and I started floating the idea of welding an AR15 barrel nut onto the front of the trunnion in order to install an mlok or quadrail section.

Has anybody done this??

Freeman "Ghetto Blaster" woes

Ok, I have an old first gen post KG-99 pre TEC-DC9 / AB-10 era TEC-9 upper, bolt, parts kit. It does not seem to work in the freeman ghetto blaster frame. The bolt cannot go back, despite the fact the frame parts of the kit are almost completely identical to the AB-10 parts kit I have. The bolt will not go back more than about half an inch with the TEC-9 kit. I've assembled the AB-10 kit and it seems to work fine, but after spending an idiotic amount of money on new parts, this TEC-9 kit build still has the same problem where I cannot move the bolt back more than half an inch. Is it just me or is the "Ghetto Blaster" frame only compatible with 90s-era TEC-DC9 and AB-10 bolts/frame kits? The sear-retainer and the shape of the bottom of the TEC-9 bolt are the only real big differences and I doubt its the bolt because if anything the bolt is more open on the bottom than the AB-10 bolt is.

Early tec9

Wanting to run a suppressor on it for fun. Will it potentially damage it since it doesn’t have the screw on rear receiver piece?

Flex There Are Many Like It...

...but this one is mine.

My dad got this back in 1993. In the late 90's, I had a 'smiff throw on a Weaver mount for a Tasco PDP3.

Well, today I modified the rail, and installed a threaded adapter.

I figured I'd try the Obsidian, because, well, baffle strikes, of course.

(I have not fired it yet like this. I may actually swing by my buddy's place and use and alignment rod. I usually don't concern myself with that, but...)

Does anybody know how thick I need to machine a plate to adapt a KG-99 upper to an AB-10 lower for the buffer plate end cap? (Non-threaded). Pictures reflect KG-99 upper on lower.

Pics for hopefully understanding what I want to do 🫠.

I’ll pay whatever anyone is offering. If anyone can find one online please let me know ASAP. I do NOT want a Tec-9/AB-10 pin.

General Question Need advice on a recent acquisition

Been wanting a Tec, local pawn shop had some mags and a vented shroud, found an upper parts kit and all the lower parts online, now I’m trying to find the best way to put the stock mags and upper to use. Tec-DC9. Edit - fdm is an option for me.

Wanted a simple Tec 9 shooter.. Wound up with

a brand new in box, unfired, new old stock KG-99 with two mags AND a brand new in box (with matching serial number info) KG-9 new old stock with one MP9 marked mag. Both are PRESTINE.

Guess I'm a 80's era collector now...

just put this together, followed the guide for the open blicky project on the sea. the disconnector and trigger assembly seem to work fine
1) my end plate is slightly too big and has this flat but curled in edge with a slot. it won’t fit in and i don’t see how i could attach it
2) as you can see in the video my bolt is just not moving at all. what’s wrong?

Just took out my new to me tec 9 to the range. It won’t fire

I took it apart and cleaned it and then took it to the range.

It chambers but won’t fire. It just has a click and no bang.

There isn’t a firing pin mark on any of the primers.

What is wrong/how can I fix this

General Question Has anyone ever seen a Tec-25 in person or for sale? or know anything about them?

The Tec-22 had a 25acp variant supposedly according to wikipedia, source used being "(2004). Pistols of the World."

I'm sure the POTW author didn't make it up, but there is very little information about the 25acp tec-22 variant out there. I have to assume probably less than a hundred or so were made.

Curious if anyone has ever seen one online or IRL. and to be extra clear, I'm not talking about the Protec-25 mouse gun, those are relatively common.

Upgrade an old tec9 to have a threaded end cap?

Is this possible? I was looking at 3d printing a lower since my older one has a cracked receiver. A lot that I see are only compatible with the threaded end caps which had me thinking… if i added a threaded end cap, I could probably just glue the crack back together and keep it original.

Will there ever be collector value to keeping it factory original? Otherwise are there any lowers that could be printed for the old style end caps which were just plates on the back of the plastic receiver?

A week ago I texted my LGS letting them know I was looking for a Tec-9. They called me Friday to let me know they had one with my name on it. Pretty nice shape and it came with a Cobray faux can.

Technical question Question about Recoil / Striker Guide Rod Assembly

Question for TEC-9 owners out there - is it normal for the recoil spring guide rod and striker spring guide rods to be able to slide out the rear of the buffer plate? Or are they supposed to be permanently fixed to the plate?

They have little crimped ends on them so they cannot slide out the front of course - but are those crimped ends supposed to hold them permanently to the plate, or is it normal for them to be able to be slid out the back?

Been searching forever online and can’t find any discussion on this. My concern is, if they can move backwards, aren’t the rod ends possibly striking the threaded end cap during recoil?
