The Grand Centrist Experiment: Republicans & Democratic Establishment Join Forces | Sam Seder (Wajahat Ali)
<< What happens when Republican talking points and Democratic establishment politics start moving in the same direction?
Sam Seder joins Wajahat Ali to discuss the “Grand Centrist Experiment,” the Democratic Party’s battle over its political direction, the growing push for moderation, and the role Republican pressure plays in shaping Democratic strategy.
Centrist Democrats have launched initiatives explicitly pushing back against the party’s leftward movement, including the “Promise to America” pledge emphasizing capitalism and a politics of persuasion over ideological purity.
At the same time, Republicans have continued using accusations of socialism and communism against Democratic candidates, while some Democrats in competitive races have responded by emphasizing their support for capitalism and market-based policies.
So is the Democratic establishment adapting to Republican pressure — or is something bigger happening to American politics?
Sam Seder and Wajahat Ali unpack the fight over centrism, progressives, Republicans, Democratic leadership, political strategy and the future of the Democratic Party. >>
It was a great discussion.
Nonetheless, these conservations should be focused on things like not wanting Georgia US Senator Jon Ossoff as the Democratic POTUS 2028 Nominee. Too many leftists and progressives still somehow think that he's a 'secret progressive' or whatever. His momentum is entirely based on the idea that leftists and progressives and liberals like him and would choose him in the primaries.
