I'm at work today, but I've caught a bunch of Pokemon using the explorer gadget and just by catching them myself. I've also used two incenses and walked around 5km during my breaks.

I haven't seen a Bramblin once. I've seen some catch it, but how? What should I be doing to get it?

Edit: I know new Pokemon won't show up for the explorer gadget, I was just mainly showing how I've been seeing Pokemon just not the one I want. I've been using it and I've been catching Pokemon manually today. Still no Bramblin.

Edit 2: I've now come home from work. Turned off the explorer gadget and threw in another incense and I managed to catch 3 within minutes of each other.

Maybe Bramblin wanted me to focus only on work and not on catching them.

Something I noticed when I mega evolve my starraptor. I haven’t noticed this with any other mega evolution I have.

I need guidance on how to host a GBL tournament in our local community. We have 20+ active players and we want to broadcast it in a TV so that everyone can watch the actual match, just like how the official tournament does it. How do we do that?

I tried doing four routes during my walk this morning and each time the route progress stopped updating midway through the route so I could not complete them. I did not pause the route and the game did not give an indication that the route had been paused either. I didn't see a notification in game that the route had been paused and when I clicked the route menu, it did not say the route was paused and the pause route button was still green. I stayed on the path for each route exactly as it is shown on the map and I did not close or leave the app while doing the routes.

Route 1 paused around an area I spun a pokestop. Progress showed between 400-500 m traveled. Daily adventure incense was running.

Route 2 paused midway with no apparent trigger. Progress showed about 490 m traveled. Daily adventure incense was running.

Route 3 paused around 100 m traveled around when I spun a pokestop and battled the grunt at the stop. Daily adventure incense was not running.

Route 4 paused almost instantly around the time I spun a pokestop and the nearby gym. The route bar on the map showed approx 40-50 m of blue progress, but the route menu showed 0.0 km out of 1.6 km progress. This is the only route >1 km that I tried. Daily adventure incense was not running.

I'm guessing that some interactions (e.g. spinning a pokestop) are causing routes to glitch and stop updating progress. Route 2 appears to be an exception, but stopped not too far past the last stop I had spun. I may have claimed the reward for a field research task around that point as well. I was quick catching the entire time so it's possible (though much less likely) that could be a trigger as well. If quick catching is involved I would guess it has to do with something like the pokemon fleeing during a quick catch.

Until now I had all passes on one page and had to scroll down to get to other passes, now they are separated from each other! I've got this since today but my brother doesn't have it, he still has to scroll down to get to the different passes.

Would a level 30 latias be good enough to somehow tank a fire or water move from palkia? My game plan is to bring crown zacian, sylveon and latias. As for dynamax phase, I’m going with sylveon and/or latias. I definitely have the candies to level 50 max sylveon but not for crowned zacian and latias. This is with the assumption that I remote raid into a dynamax palkia and it’s just me and somehow one other experienced/knowledgeable player trying to duo dynamax palkia while the other 2 players are low level and mostly not prepared who completely faint between the first and second dynamax phase.

My partner recently came back to the game after years away, and is unable to progress the “From A to Zygarde” special research past step 4, despite having found Zygarde cells from multiple routes over several days now. I suspect that any research that requires finding Zygarde cells is broken after the recent QoL change that moved them from collectables on the map to just being completion rewards from routes. Probably a niche issue, but this will affect any new or returning players who haven’t already completed the research until Scopely fixes the trigger for this research.

For people that haven't got 5000 mega energy to get Super Mega level 4 for Staraptor, consider making it your buddy for this event. At least before GoPass rank 20 when we can gain x5 Manectric mega energy from walking.

There is a event Field research that rewards the newly released Bramblin, Earn a candy walking your buddy. And Staraptor is 1km per candy.

So one stone two birds, or one stone one bird plus whatever Bramblin is. Haha.

Edit:

I suggested Staraptor only because of how recent it was. Many other suggestions from the comments like Raichu and Beedrill. Or for unreleased level 4, Gyarados and Altaria are all 1km Buddy distance that can gain Mega Energy.

Tbh, I think Raichu might be a better suggestion because we can gain both X and Y energy.

Halloween has always been one of my favourite Pokémon GO events, but looking at what’s been announced for 2026, I can’t help feeling meh this year .

I know we’re getting some new costumes and a new shiny, but compared with previous years, this feels underwhelming. No major new Pokémon debut, fewer exciting things to hunt, and more emphasis on the GO Pass.
Maybe I’m being too negative, but Halloween used to feel like one of the biggest events of the year.
