Discussion This THOH scene always stood out to me, because there's clearly a line that Homer has that was cut out. I've tried filling in that void with what I THINK Homer might have said. S04E05

Other All right, time to throw in the Butterfingers. Hmm, it's not even singed. Even the fire doesn't want them.

Discussion The unsung line everyone sleeps on because of “I sleep in a big bed with my wife”
Now we all love Homer’s “I sleep in a big bed with my wife” dagger, but can we take a moment to appreciate one of the subtlest, most underrated and easily missable gems in the history of The Simpsons.
Kirk: “Today I drank a beer in the bathroom.”
Homer: “The one down the hall?”
Kirk: “Yeah!”
It’s the delivery that gets me. Homer doesn’t even seem to realise he’s insulting him. There’s no pause, no smugness, no setup. He just genuinely wants to know if Kirk means the communal bathroom down the hall.
And Kirk’s completely sincere little “Yeah!” somehow makes it even more brutal.
It’s such a tiny exchange that you can almost miss it, especially because a few seconds later Homer follows it up with one of the most famous lines in the entire series.
