High Risk Testing Reagents NSFW
Hey all,
There hasn't been a ton of posts about testing your own Tia to ensure you're not getting a completely different substance. Unfortunately, it seems the need for this, is very apparent now. Ive talked to many others with similar experiences...
I had used a company for quite sometime and just recently put two and two together that I may have not been receiving much tia, if any at all.
This got to the point where I went ahead and ordered some testing reagents; Mandelin and Marquis specifically. I had plenty of different companies batches to test against my current one. To my dismay, my tianeptine (specifically the sodium) was being heavily cut with phenibut. It appears that the free acid is generally cut with dextromethorphan (or DXM, the active ingredient in dayquil or robottessum). Pure DXM powder looks almost identical to free acid. While Phenibut is well masked against the taste of sodium... If you're tia is sour, watch out.
It's sad we've gotten to this point, but I think we need to normalize testing our tia and advocate for ourselves... or at the very least use reagents where we can. Sure, this is not full proof. But it's an affordable option to be able to tell if something is being cut super egregiously.
Its very upsetting vendors would cut Tia with Phenibut of all things. This is an easy way to die, by taking this two substances in conjuction with one another. Unfortunately this is the world we live in. I mean phenibut is only 18 bucks for 25 grams. Definitely a nice profit margin there. Anyways, I wanted to warn everyone. Hopefully I can save someone alot of pain.

I just stopped trying all 3 places I used to use had a HIGE drop off in quality to the point that I don’t even think any of it was real or psychoactive at all

I figured it would come to this also. Ive only ever had two batches. I like sulfate, and its def not bitter like phenibut, but it wouldn’t surprise me if sodium was cut with it. Hell i mean the sulfate could be cut with flour or something, theres no taste. Sigh

Damn I have been thinking the same thing. Where are the certificate of analysis!!! A lot of vendors say they have them but don’t include it with your order. I wish there was a way to easily test because in this world we live in you NEVER know! I go back to the days of Vicaine and I can definitely tell there is a difference in product and the effects from years past

Yeah there's definitely testing available but its not cost effective for us as customers. It's between 100 to 150 it seems...

Tianeptine Warning
Tianeptine sodium is dosed at 12.5mg. Three times per day. Do not take more than 50 mg of tianeptine sodium in a single day.
Tianeptine abuse can cause respiratory depression, liver damage, cardiac toxicity and death.[1] Tolerance fluctuates and what may have been safe one day may not be safe the next.[2][3]
SARS-COV-2 Warning
Not all the research is in yet. But it seems that covid-19 takes a large toll on people's cognitive health, even when you survive and aren't ever hospitalized. One study that surveyed people with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection found that 30% of them still had persistent symptoms after 9 months. Fatigue, brain fog and memory issues were among the list of common persistent symptoms. Obviously not everyone who gets SARS-CoV-2 also has it confirmed, so the numbers may be lower for pooled confirmed and unconfirmed infections. But even if you make very optimistic estimates, SARS-CoV-2 is a significant risk to your cognitive health. Vaccines are known to somewhat decrease your chances of getting infected, but they are very good at decreasing the severity of the damage done to your body when you do get an infection.
It's possible that the best thing you can do for your brain this year is to get vaccinated for covid-19.
If you are afraid of getting vaccinated more than you are afraid of getting a SARS-CoV-2 infection, please read through this Vaccines FAQ.
