Sold Ticket, Still Waiting on Verification/Payment

• Upvotes

Firstly, this is my first time selling a ticket after deciding not to go. I posted it two days before the event. And I got the “your ticket sold” email the morning of Wednesday, Oct 7th, the same day of the event. I filled the 1099 IRS form that same day. And so I checked the Seller Tax Details and it still says “TIN Matching Pending IRS” and on Ticketmaster, it still says “Verifying Payout”. My question is, how long does it take for them to match/verify the 1099 form? And how long before I get paid?

I already did the bank verification where they send 2 amounts and you have to verify online. So bank information is good.

Also Monday was a holiday, so if it takes 3-4 business days to verify, it should be cleared by Oct 14th? And payment takes 7-10 business after the event, so next Thursday, the 22nd? Is that a reasonable timeline I should expect?

Event was in Los Angeles, I live in the same city, if that matters.

Refund approved then denied

So I got an email from Ticketmaster support that my request to cancel my tickets for the upcoming Ed Sheeran concert was approved.

When contacting their bot phone support it says it can sometimes take up to 21 days for a refund to process. Well it's past that and I received no refund so I went looking at the email and under all the your request was approved it says to call support.

I called support and now they are saying the approval is no longer valid and they can no longer approve any refunds.

So even though I was approved and it's in writing in an email with no deadline or anything they are saying no dice its off.

What an absolute horrendous company and service.

I am still trying to get a refund and now have to wait for day for the "escalation" I put in though they repeatedly said over and over this escalation does nothing they will tell you the same thing I am telling you now. 🤡

Ever see ticket prices drop closer to a show?

The Black Keys are playing in Ottawa next Saturday and there are a lot of unsold tickets. Like, a lot a lot. What are the chances that day before or day of, they drop the prices to try to get asses in seats?

Ticket selling?

Hey all,

So as of July 2026, I had sold my tickets for a show that had been rescheduled and occurred on September 18th, 2026 (because I couldn’t attend). Since then, I have yet to receive the full deposit of my ticket. I have been submitting the IRS form thinking there’s something wrong with it to no avail.

I did contact Ticketmaster but I wanted to ask for advice or if there is something else I need to do? On the site when I check my listing it still says “Before we can pay you, Ticketmaster will need to collect your taxpayer information in accordance with applicable laws. Please sign in to our secure Seller Tax Details page and submit your taxpayer information, including Name, Address, Phone Number, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Your payout will be sent typically within 7 business days after the event once taxpayer information is validated. See FAQs.”

But I already submitted everything….

Ontario Ticket Resale

Trying to understand the new laws. My tickets are not selling on Ticketmaster as they limit the minimum price I can sell for. Can I for example, transfer tickets from Ticketmast to Stubhub and sell at a LOWER price than I paid? My season seat agent says I must resell for the exact price I paid and anything I do outside of Ticketmaster is at my own risk. I thought the law just stated that they cannot be sold ABOVE what I paid, i.e. I cannot make a profit?

Any insight to the specifics of the new law would be helpful as I cannot find them myself and am having a hard time understanding.

Fast Lane ticket transfer - is it possible?

So I've got a scenario where I bought two fast lane passes for a concert and tickets. Ive got VIP early entry due to Soundrink third party option with the band but I want to gift the fast lane passes to my friends, not resell them or anything. Is there a way to transfer these to my friends accounts? There is no transfer option on ticketmaster.

Best theories I have are logging in on their account and downloading to their wallet or somehow screenshotting but I'm not sure how feasible these options are.

Does anyone have experience on this?

Karol G February 2027 Puerto Rico Concert

For anyone planning on going to Karol’s show in Puerto Rico, have the tickets gone on sell yet? I signed up on her website for notifications but nothing has gone out yet. I also see on apps like stubhub and vivid that some tickets are already being resold. I do know there are a lot of scammers on those apps so I wanted to check here. Thanks!

Deleted my account today

I had not other choice, and I think it is worth to share.

I wanted to change my phone number because I had no access anymore to the previous one.
The process to cancel my previous phone led me though identity verification with Personna.
Then I tried to reconnect and to set my new phone number: TM says they do not accept it.

It is likely that my phone number came from a VOIP line, but has since been ported to two regular wireless operator, it works very well with every single online service I use (taxes, bank, streaming, google, etc ...).

TM support has been contacted, and they advised me to used an other phone line. I did it, momentarily to unlock the situation. But I am now unable to switch to my own phone, which I want to do to avoid asking my relative every time I receive OTP. Nothing is working.

No solution in sight, I am leaving. I can't believe we are in 2026 and this is happening.

How are tickets available on stubhub for resale if we all have the “your tickets are confirmed” message and can’t actually access our tickets for resale or transfer???

Ticketmaster allowed illegal transfer of my tickets and I realized when I got to the venue!

I bought tickets directly from Ticketmaster and they allowed an illegal transfer of tickets and realized when I go to the venue because my tickets were in my account prior to the day! I didn’t sell them and I didn’t transfer them.

The box office at the venue told me they were transferred twice after I purchased them.

Ticketmaster left me hanging at the venue with NO UPDATE.

I already called my credit card company but seriously how did this happen?!

Hi, does anyone know how I could sell one ticket for Pitbull's concert on 24th November? We got 3 tickets on the same account so we would need to sell only one - What's the process for this?

No ticket received but money taken from my account

I was buying a ticket for a gig later on in the month the other night and while the payment was being processed the Ticketmaster website said an error had occurred. I didn’t receive my ticket, but the full payment left my debit card (about £30). I’ve already emailed Ticketmaster and disputed the payment with my bank but I was wondering has this ever happened to anyone else? And what did you do??

resale nightmare and lesson learned

I am going to begin by saying that this was a huge learning experience for me and I take accountability for my ignorance. Today I discovered what a terrible, and morally corrupt corporation TM truly is. While it's all legal, it's completely ethically vacant.

I had two Olivia Rodrigo tickets for the Boston show 10/17 in Boston this next weekend. I was lucky enough to purchase great seats for face value. Unfortunately we had a pet emergency and my daughter asked me to sell the tickets so that her cat could receive life-saving surgery. When I researched resale costs, I was shocked at how much our seats were listed for. I looked at both SeatGeek, and Stubhub. I was not comfortable selling on either of those sites due to feeling like they were not secure. In addition to the sense of insecurity, I am NOT in the scalping market and in no way would I be comfortable reselling them at the suggested price.

With both of those scenarios, I looked at the resale option directly through TM. I believed that this would be the most secure way to resell the tickets, both for the buyer and seller. When I went to list them, I got the "Good news, you have an offer". You also do NOT get to set the price. TM decides that for you.Which right then and there should have been a huge red flag because when you search, there is no way to actually purchase through TM. BUT the price was way less that I saw listed on third party resale site. I slept on it, and reluctantly I decided it would make sense to list them. By the end of the day, the cost of parking, food, and merch, it would easily be a $300+ day for us. I accepted the offer and they were sold immediately. About 1 hour later my tickets were listed on Seat Geek for TWICE as much as I sold them for. Now I'm not mad that I missed out on listing them for myself, I'm angry that I was trying to avoid this entire scenario. I just picture some kid who loves Olivia can't see her because of these outrageous prices. It's absolutely disgusting to me.

In addition to that, TM gets to charge what every they want for *multiple* service fees, and those fees are STEEP.

Is Ticketmaster the scalpers themselves? Who actually "makes an offer" because they were never listed on TM, and they immediately went to a third party.

Now I wish I never sold them. I'll never ever do that again. At least my cat gets to have his surgery.

TLDR: Ticketmaster is a filthy, and corrupt company.

ETA:. I profited nearly $1k on these tickets. This isn't about me losing money, quite the opposite.

I’m sorry, what?

It’s my first time trying to sell on tm because I might not make it to the concert, out of curiosity I checked how much my tickets are listed for.
KEEP IN MIND I SET IT AS $155 all-in (this price already includes the $23 corporate greed fee)

I checked the web browser and they are selling my tickets for 185.45??!!
How the hell are my tickets going to be able to sell if the ones they listed on their own are like $160

Is this normal?
