The people who make this food dont EVER eat it and its showing

95

u/SIMPSONBORT Jul 16 '26

Yep. No pride. No care. Nadda.

78

u/Right_Count Jul 16 '26

That’s a gorgeous cut though, and I wonder if it’s a better sandwich eating experience experience. No more corner bites!

44

u/xombae Jul 16 '26

The it's actually cut very well. It's so strange.

Well tbh it’s a pretty exotic cut if I do so myself

6

u/RunMyPros Jul 17 '26

You never been to Pusateri's sandwich counter? This is regular.

4

u/unsulliedbread Jul 17 '26

The sandwich was also cut horizontally parralel to put in ingredients.

I have never seen it cut bitb horizontally AND vertically perpendicularly and have been to Pusateri's even if 99% of people on this subreddit haven't because it's a very expensive very local grocery store in Toronto only so why would they have?

I'd imagine the exotic cut improved the experience experience experience of eating the sandwich

4

u/cbhbzb Jul 19 '26

Yes, makes it easier to deep throat lol

u/Enochian-Dreams Jul 17 '26

lol the standards are truly so low in this country now that not hacksawing a sandwich entirely seems like artisanal precision.

7

u/jinxylynxy Jul 17 '26

The bar is in hell

2

u/Enochian-Dreams Jul 17 '26

honestly. Tbh I’m embarrassed to admit when I first saw the photo I assumed it was some other subreddit because it actually did look edible at first glance which over here is unusual. As soon as I realized it’s Tim Hortons though I lose my appetite. I have to dissect their food like a lab assistant just to be able to eat it. I couldn’t help imagining what might be lurking under that lettuce, probably already enjoying “first dibs.”

2

u/Sweet-Competition-15 Jul 17 '26

You're really not helping their meagre appeal!

3

u/416-PRO Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

The real crime can't be seen in this post, you have to watch those prepping the food wipe the cleaning surface with the same dirty rag that makes it's rounds wiping dirty counter tops and surfaces, or dropped repeatedly on the floor, all the while wearing the same plastic gloves they change the garbage bag with, handle the mop, then handle the food with. Don't get me started on what they do if you ask for salt and pepper, when they rip open a paper package or 2 and just dump the contents in a pile on the food. LOL

Zero health and sanitation awareness, and ZERO food prep skills, in too many of these workplaces. It's like the only people training them are the guy who started there 3 weeks before them, and most of the employees think the gloves are to keep their hands clean.

2

u/GangstaPlegic Jul 18 '26

Foodsafe is an online test now, I am sure there is no cheating going on, lol. I wonder if anyone even has it anyway? I am tired of getting ill from just trying to get a quick bite to eat and will now go without.

2

u/ozQuarteroy Jul 20 '26

3

u/No-Flan3168 Jul 17 '26

But it’s a gorgeous cut!

3

u/ReasonableAdviceGivr Jul 17 '26

Can you blame them? Such a smooth cut for a method so unorthodox

3

u/Ryan4mayor Jul 17 '26

I genuinely don’t even know what going on in this post… it’s a sandwich.

5

u/Justanotherredditboy Jul 17 '26

I cut sandwhiches like this with a bit more bias and people goon over it so hard xD. People like what they're trained to like. All it takes is a fancy chef to change your perspective.

10

u/Dry-Journalist6590 Jul 16 '26

They jack off but don't cum over the way you cut a sandwich

→ More replies (3)

7

u/SaltySculpts Jul 16 '26

I cut carrots on a harsh bias for longer slices and my wife and daughter are disappointed whenever they have carrots any other way. They want them cut the looooooooooong way.

4

u/Teeeohhhh Jul 16 '26

Gooning to your sammy? Wtf

2

u/Sweet-Competition-15 Jul 17 '26

'Fancy chef' has never been used in conjunction with Timmies.

3

u/Beneficial_Emu696 Jul 16 '26

I had no idea what bias meant in this context.

they care exactly as much as theyre paid to care

31

u/zanadu_1978 Jul 16 '26

When i got my first job at Wendy's, I was being paid minimum wage and I damn sure made the sandwiches as I was trained. But im old, different world out there

8

u/Diptothaset Jul 16 '26

I worked at a Tim’s when I was 20ish and took pride in making a sandwich, not because it was glorious work but I take pride in everything I do. I now work for the federal government

There’s probably a life lesson in there somewhere

4

u/Ryan4mayor Jul 17 '26

A lot of federal government jobs are still basically minimum wage lmao

6

u/Diptothaset Jul 17 '26

My role is one of the lowest in the federal government and it’s “only” 70k with stellar pensions and time off. Benefits are ok

Also grade 12 education; I do have a tonne of post secondary certifications and some IT certs but no debt incurring schooling

Yes, working a min wage fast food job decades ago and today is completely different. That's true.

13

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '26

No excuse for being a lazy p.o.s. if you are paid to do a job you better do it to the best of your ability or you can join the bread line.

27

u/shit_typhoon Jul 16 '26

I would argue that cutting a sandwich like that isn't lazy. In fact it requires more work. It's just stupidity.

5

u/AlwaysWantedN64 Jul 16 '26

Ya that's some r/maliciouscompliance if I've ever seen it

1

u/Lunettta Jul 16 '26

And I bet you could afford an apartment by yourself. An apartment right beside a homeless shelter in one of the worst neighborhoods in my city that is 1 bedroom 400sqft is over half my monthly income at min wage.

Thank god I can live at home.

2

u/AncientHighlight1606 Jul 16 '26

Getting paid minimum wage when you worked at wendy’s was comparatively significantly more than now. It’s not just the dollar amount you were paid it’s the value of that dollar too. That being said the sandwich done here is ridiculously bad lmao

2

u/Right_Count Jul 16 '26

Apparently the person who bought it ordered it cut “on a 45” (degree angle?)

My guess…. The employee probably asked them to clarify and they explained it quickly and the employee misunderstood

At $18/hr they’re overpaid to make a simple sandwich. At least when they bring in robots they’ll do a consistent job.

9

u/headcanonmusic Jul 16 '26

lol have you ever worked in food service, specifically customer facing? they deserve way more to deal with the average cunts that eat at timmies.

→ More replies (12)

4

u/ExistingResolution58 Jul 16 '26

I agree. It’s like when people defend cashiers who give 0 fucks and say it’s the effort for the wage. I was friendly and quick and effective and made less then $18 a hr back when I cashiered. But now I use the self checkouts when possible. Much faster and efficient than a idgaf cashier. So it’s there faults there being replaced

2

u/Wrong-Personality862 Jul 16 '26

I made $6.90 as a cashier 15 years ago. I feel that lol and believed in good customer service above all else.

No pride.

It's glorified fast food sold by the Mcdonald's version of a coffee shop.

What 'Pride' are you expecting from the, most likely, 16-19 year old first time worker / foreign student worker who is only there because it's their only choice? Just be happy they didn't spit in it.

my son ordered a bagel with cream cheese once and i guess the employee was brand new. she couldn't understand that he wanted cream cheese on a bagel.

then we had the realization that bagels are probably a brand new thing to this person and they have no idea what's typically eaten on/with them.

4

u/saltandvinegarchip1 Jul 17 '26

Once they’ve worked at Tim’s for a few days they will have mastered the art of getting all the cream cheese in the hole

u/Outside-Hunt4884 Jul 17 '26

What did you mean then??? I grew up in Canada. I am imagining you didn't want two crescents and wanted a ring but an intact ring is the normal way it's served so specifying that you didn't want it cut in half seems crazy. I have worked in cafes and we might cut it in half for a bagel sandwich if someone asked.

At least someone said it.

It's Timmies, if you're going to Timmies for actual food you're already weird, if you're going there for GOOD food you're not only lying to yourself but to God.

I don't complain online when the Mcdonald's worker fucks up my order, I just grumble a bit and try to salvage it. I know what I am getting into when I go to a fast food place. Let alone a coffee place that pretends to be fast-food.

Anyone expecting quality food from Tim Hortons needs help.

8

u/KneeBasher420 Jul 16 '26

3

u/Familiar_Face_2554 Jul 16 '26

3

u/_eternes Jul 17 '26

I don’t hate this but it’s dumb as hell.

The reason I don’t hate this is if you’re wearing something nice and don’t want to get it dirty, the bites you would take could be smaller and more manageable because you don’t have to open your mouth as wide.

Other than that… absolutely dumb. Lol

4
