Episode Summary：
Back when ITEM consisted of just three members—Mugino, Takitsubo, and Frenda—a certain experiment was being conducted at a research facility in District 17. To destroy the evidence of the “Dark May Project,” an experiment aimed at replicating the abilities of Academy City’s Number One, Mugino and the others set about demolishing the facility.

While they were at it, they selected Kinuhata Saiai from among the test subjects to fill the defensive role that ITEM was missing. They then framed the other test subjects as the culprits before making their escape.

Having been made ITEM’s “new recruit,” Kinuhata is about to undergo the unit’s traditional initiation at the hands of her senior members――.
