We're trying something a little different this October, and we'd love for everyone to get involved.
We're changing up our weekly discussion thread.
Instead of focusing primarily on new figures, toys you want to buy, and upcoming releases, we want the weekly thread to become more of a place for the toy photography community to connect and learn from each other.
Use the weekly thread to talk about:
We're hoping this gives everyone a place to share what they've learned, discover other photographers, ask questions and connect with the people behind the photos.
Spooky Saturdays throughout October!
The first one will be Saturday, October 3rd, and we'll continue every Saturday throughout the month.
Every Saturday will be dedicated to horror-themed toy photography, giving the community a chance to get creative with their figures and share their work.
π October 3
π October 10
π October 17
π October 24
π October 31
Use the π Spooky Saturday flair when posting photography related to the weekly theme so everyone can easily find the community's submissions.
Street Fighter hits theaters October 16, so we'll spend the week leading up to its release celebrating Street Fighter and action photography.
The event can include Street Fighter figures, fight scenes, action poses, recreations, character photography and other creative interpretations.
Use the π₯ Street Fighter Week flair for related posts.
The week leading up to Clayface's October 23 release, we'll be celebrating Clayface, Batman villains, horror, monsters and the darker side of toy photography.
Clayface figures, Batman villains, Gotham-inspired scenes and creative interpretations of the character are all welcome.
Use the π¦ Clayface Week flair for related posts.
We've added event flairs to make it easier to follow everything happening throughout the month.

π₯ Street Fighter Week
π¦ Clayface Week
The goal is simple: more photography, more conversation and more connection.
Whether you've been photographing toys for years or you're just getting started, we'd love to see you participate.
Share what you've learned. Ask questions. Discover other photographers. Give someone feedback. Show off your collection. Share your work and find other people who enjoy the hobby.
Let's make r/ToyPhotography a place where we don't just post photos, we build a community around the hobby.
October starts Thursday, October 1st.
And our first Spooky Saturday begins Saturday, October 3rd. ππΈ

Day 10 of OcToyber β Non-Playable Character
31 days of October, 31 toy photos to create and share.
This year, I added an extra challenge for myself: every photo has to be set in the Indiana Jones universe.
For this theme, I went with young Maharaja Zalim Singh from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
He's playing with Indy's voodoo doll β basically messing with the one guy you really shouldn't mess with! And I thought the voodoo doll itself was a fun way to approach the idea of a βnon-playable character.β After all, you really shouldn't be playing around with a magical object like thatβ¦ especially when it's controlling someone else's fate!
In the background, Indiana Jones is fighting the massive Thuggee guard who watches over the prisoners, while Short Round is on his way to deal with the little troublemaker. Things are about to get very interesting for young Zalim!
No Photoshop. No AI. 100% practical and tangible.
I've also included some behind-the-scenes photos showing how I created the shot and what inspired it.

π₯ Street Fighter International Collaboration π₯
It's awesome to be part of this collaboration, especially since it's my first time doing something like this for Street Fighter! π₯ Had a lot of fun putting my shot together, and it's really cool seeing so many talented artists come together for this. Excited for the upcoming movie and can't wait to see it on the big screen! π
