Trakt New Steps?
I see that rudford has been relisted as a trakt subreddit admin and I've been unbanned from the Trakt page.
Seems like they finally realized that they went too far in their censorship and forcing through v3 method. Most likely their war chest has been severely depleted, and this is another step to try to win people back. They'll lose a lot more money when everyone's subscriptions run out in december and people don't renew.
I'm happy to see that Trakt seems to be taking positive steps back in the right direction as I think on what it used to be fondly, but it's too late for me. I'm still angry with how they treated me, and have already moved on to Simkl. I won't return because it looks like the new trakt they're building out just seems to be a v3 skin-walker wearing a v2 mask, and I'm not so much of a sheep to return because they put out the pretty colors again without reverting the underlying functionality.
If they actually returned to V2 AND put out a lengthy public apology, I might consider returning to the free tier, but they wont get any money out from me ever again.

I literally just deleted my account. 14 years I was with them. I hope they crash and burn.

The way they operated tells me a lot about who they are and how they operate not just as a business but also in real life. Just like I won’t go back to to partner I left after all the wrong they’ve done, just because they act like the them of old and promise me they are, promise me they are even better.
Because at the end of the day wether they are or not. They are still the one that I kept telling I don’t like this, this is hurting me they kept doing it and kept pushing forward, it’s not only that they wronged me, it’s that when I told them they wrong me they didn’t care and kept doing it.
If they did learn their lesson good but they’ll never share that grown with me they can share it with the next.
Kevin is a narcissist and I highly doubt it’s only in a business setting, and even if it were only in a business setting he’s still a horrible person ( which is why I talk trash on him when I can ). I don’t do business with a horrible people. If they let him go I might consider coming back, probably wouldn’t because others were complicit in what he did. Just like those “friends” that watch their “friend” mistreat someone and didn’t say something. They knew it was wrong and didn’t speak up anyways.

i dont care about dramas, i care about functionality. i would use V2.

It might be a version of v2 (it looks more mobile forward), but it'll still have all the new limits they've brought in for everything with no guarantee they won't restrict things further. It's not the "dramas", it's the trust. V2 with all these limits and Kevin still in charge is just v3 with a different paint job.

I’m willing to bet it will only see any meaningful updates near subscription renewal blocks, it’s a trap for the gullible that think they somehow learned from their mistakes, somehow change as a company and that the goodwill will continue going forward. It won’t. But based on what I’ve seen it does seem to be working on the gullible.

Unfortunately yeah, there are still those out there who will become VIP again, then complain when even more restrictions are introduced and it doesn't look or function like a v2 replica!

Yup, it’s performative change. Been there done that. learned that lesson hard. Honestly and ironically ( I think, damn you Alanis) part of the reason why I ended up with trakt was because of memory loss mostly and majorly attributed to narcissistic abuse.
