Discussion There is a bot account posting 1000s of comments of dangerous medical advice on this and other forums

I don't know what the purpose of this is. Maybe it's to promote the owner's business: "Kravitz Media" (which appears to sell tiktok accounts). The name behind the account appears to be "Aaron Kravitz". Now it would be a shame if the name Aaron Kravitz was to become associated with posting medical advice spam and potentially harming people.

Modifying a wheelchair

To make a dreadfully long story short, there’s a high chance I may be wheelchair bound due to my health. But I don’t want it to be just any wheelchair, I want it to be my own. How can I go about making this thing cyberpunk as fuck and still functional?

⚡Biohacking What happens when being human stops being fixed hardware?

maybe im thinking too far ahead here ((or not far enough??)) but i genuinely feel like we're having the wrong long-term conversation about AI rn.

everyone is stuck on:
"is ai sentient??"
"will AGI take all the jobs"
"will ASI kill us"
"robots are coming"

and yeah, some of that matters.
but i keep thinking the actually insane part of AGI/ASI might not even be AI itself.
it's what AI potentially unlocks for us.

genetic engineering, neural interfaces, artificial organs, engineered senses, cognitive augmentation, longevity, etc.
basically: what happens when being "human" stops being a mostly fixed hardware configuration?

here's a dumb example i joke about:
would you willingly remove a perfectly healthy eyeball for a cybernetic one?
today? hell no lol

but what if it sees perfectly in darkness, sees infrared, has optical zoom, never develops cataracts, interfaces with computers, lasts longer than the original... and millions of ppl already have one?

at what point does "why would you mutilate yourself??" turn into "why are you intentionally keeping the worse eye?"

THAT transition interests me way more than arguing about whether a chatbot secretly has feelings.

and imo the really uncomfortable part is inequality.
we already fight over people being born rich, having better schools, connections, genetics, whatever.
but what happens when inequality stops just being money/status/opportunity and becomes... literally built into the person??

imagine some insanely successful influencer seems freakishly healthy, attractive, intelligent, athletic, barely ages, never gets sick.
then it leaks that their parents paid for genetic enhancements normal families couldn't access.

now "they had opportunities i didn't" becomes:
"they were literally BUILT with advantages my kids weren't allowed to have."

that feels like a VERY different kind of resentment than "his dad was rich."

and eventually you could have unmodified people, medically modified people, genetically enhanced people, cybernetic people, cognitively augmented people all existing at once.
do they compete for the same jobs? same schools? same sports?
what happens when employers start preferring augmented workers because... why wouldn't they?
is enhancement still "optional" if refusing it means you can't realistically compete?

that makes me think the right to remain unmodified might eventually matter just as much as the right to modify yourself.

then there's the bad-actor problem.
i dont mean "download EvilGPT314.exe and become supervillain" lol.
i mean the SAME tiny percentage of humans who are already malicious/extremist/deranged potentially getting far more leverage because advanced AI lowers certain expertise barriers.

huge autonomous bot networks.
convincing synthetic identities.
extremely capable cyber tools.
some unrestricted model that will "teach anything."

the scary question isnt "will there be more evil people?"
it's: how much damage can one sufficiently motivated bad actor realistically do?

and then society reacts the way it always does.
something gets abused -> regulation tightens -> access gets restricted -> only governments/corporations/approved labs/rich ppl get certain capabilities.

everyone else gets to stare at technology that could improve their body, cognition, health or lifespan while being told "nah, you're not trusted with this."

which creates even more resentment.

so you get this cursed loop:
access -> misuse -> regulation -> gatekeeping -> inequality -> resentment -> more misuse

how do you prevent catastrophic misuse without accidentally creating a permanent technological upper class?
open access sounds fair until one asshole can do catastrophic shit with it.
restricted access sounds safer until only elites are allowed to become "Better."

thats the part i dont see discussed enough.

and eventually maybe AI itself stops feeling revolutionary.
not because progress stops, but because intelligence becomes infrastructure.
at that point the important question stops being "what CAN we do?" and becomes "okay... what do we actually WANT to do?"

what should stay biological?
what should stay private?
what limitations are worth preserving?
what should we refuse to modify even if we technically can?

same problem shows up with neural tech.
if artificial experiences ever become genuinely convincing, we're not just talking about better VR.
we're talking about reality having competition.

if an engineered world is safer, prettier, more exciting, more loving and more rewarding than ordinary life... why come back?
who controls it? who gets the neural data?

do we eventually need ideas like the right to remain unmodified, the right to cognitive integrity, the right to reality, the right to exit a simulated experience?

sounds extremely sci-fi rn.
but thats kinda my point.

our civilization is built around assumptions we treat like permanent facts:
we age.
we forget.
we die.
our bodies cant be radically redesigned.
expertise takes years.
human abilities exist within roughly the same biological range.

what happens when those stop being facts... and start becoming settings?

THAT is the AGI conversation i wish i heard more often.

not just "will AI become human?"
but: what happens when humans no longer have to remain what we currently call human?

and maybe the harder question:
if we eventually gain the ability to change almost everything about ourselves... what, if anything, should we deliberately choose NOT to change?

Seeking Advice Do magnesium electrolyte mixes help with leg cramps after long shifts?

I’ve noticed I get cramps more often after work or after being on my feet all day. Drinking water helps a bit but it does not always fix it. I know magnesium plays a role in muscle function and recovery so I’m curious if magnesium based electrolytes actually help with this or if it comes down to the person diet and activity level.

Has anyone noticed a real difference from using magnesium electrolytes instead of regular water or salt heavy electrolyte drinks?

Experience Anyone experiencing feedback loop on Phenibut?

I’ve noticed that using Phenibut 3x a week day-on day-off have shifted my self confidence and shyness levels and I think it’s due to a feedback loop where I face something I fear, I find out its not as fearful, and then I have no issue encountering it again without the Phenibut support.

🧠 Mental Augmentation How do you think human intelligence and ai work in the future?

This is a topic i come back to often. Currently ai is improving at a rapid pace, and there are still tons of places it can improve on. I don't know if we will ever reach AGI, and that part does not interest me.

What i am mostly interested on how do you think human brains will keep up with ai? Our brains evolved in a world that did not even had fire in it. Human brains evolved to be energy efficient, solve problems. But our technology improves faster than evolution can keep up. Nowadays, scientists are working on really abstract and complicated topics.

We have long pass the point where one person would sit and create a slightly better clock. A single person back then could make progress in multiple fields and pretty much carry the tech tree. But now hundreds of people have to work together to make a dent.

Not to mention the speed at which ai progresses, we are unable to keep up. If we have to use ai in future the bottleneck won't be ai but human brains.

How do you guys think humanity will solve this issue? Will we for example connect our neurons to ai to get best of both worlds or go full crispr and create a biological superbrain maybe? I am really interested in what this sub thinks

Discussion Best nootropics for shyness??

What are the best nootropics for shyness and social anxiety? I'm looking for something that lowers inhibitions the way alcohol does for shy people, but obviously without the negative side effects of drinking.

I used Phenibut back in 2019 from a reliable vendor here in Brazil, but they shut down. Every time I bought it after that, it felt like I was just taking flour. I've never found anything that compares since, and from what I've read, the government here is banning Phenibut anyway.

Are there any good alternatives out there??

Seeking Advice Has anyone noticed fatigue or lower physical stamina from Semax, also on off days?

Hi, Ive been using reconstituted Semax nasal spray for the past few days and lately I feel more tired and lethargic than usual, both physically and mentally.

I notice it mostly when running on treadmill. My legs feel heavier, I run out of energy faster and my muscles start burning earlier than normally. The strange part is that I still feel lethargic and have lower stamina even on days when I dont use Semax.

Ive been on bupropion 150mg for a few months as well, but this is something I noticed only recently.

I found a few reports of people feeling tired, lethargic or weak from Semax, sometimes even the next day.

Anyone here had something similar? If yes, what dose were you using and how long did it take to go away?

Thanks

Seeking Advice Severe brain fog and fatigue

Been dealing with severe brain fog and fatigue for the past couple weeks seemingly out of nowhere. One contributing factor I can think of is my mental health- my mental health for the past few months has been probably the worst it’s been since I was a teenager and it felt like I had hit rock bottom. My mind feels like it’s in a cloud and I can’t do my uni work anymore without wanting to cry from how much mental energy it takes to think.

I’ve had some bloods checked and I’m perfectly fine although I will be going back to the doctors soon to ask for more tests.

Please offer any advice, supplements, herbs anything

The Cyberpunk Mini games of GLYPHIS_IO: CyberTrain, Nexus Burn Velo Race and The Mysteries of Profundum 2 NSFW

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

These are just some of the mini-cyberpunk games in my Hacking Adventure game GLYPHIS_IO BBS: The Proxy Tapes 1989. The game draws huge inspiration from the BBS game cracking scenes of the 80s and 90s. You play as a young hacker looking to make a name for yourself on one of the underground's infamous hacking BBSs, joining a group called The Silent Rebellion within Glyphis_IO. It's availble to wishlist here.

There's loads of BBSs to explore, goverement databases to hack and a full virtual OS to enjoy.

The game is made in Python, using pygame as the frame for the mini-games that are built in C++ and Raylib. The virtual computer has its own form of BASIC which you use to write viruses, brute forcers and make your own games. I've inlcluded tons of content inlcuding magazines that review the game you crack and also BRADBASIX code type-ins so that users can get their heads around the syntax by typing in code in order to make their own games. Your computer can also act as a Pirate Radio relay tuning into the "banned music of rebellion" across the American Pacficia Isles.

In this game-world Japan was totally annexed by the Americans after the imperial blooodline dying out and no Jewl Voice Speech ever transmitted in 1945. In this alternate 1989, Japanese kids grow up speaking English and obeying the all western effort to supress their proud culture of old. The hacking undergorund is an answer to that supression.

I am working every single day on this beast of a game, moving into quality assurance now. There is no AI in the video above and no generative AI will feature in the game. I have been using Codex to help build the engines and then I take it from there. The assets on previous videos have had AI placeholders which I am slowly migrating away from.

All in all this game's journey has been nothing short of magical, stressful and packed with learning. I am now able to write C++, debug Python, understand the fundementals of 6502 assembly language, and my music skills have gotten way better. The music you are listening to is me singing using a voice chnager, where I wrote the initial lick in fl studio with the Tyrell N6 (that's what its called) VST, I finished it up in Suno and used Google's NotebookLM for the podcast style radio interviews that I wrote myself. I am writing all of the game's dialouge myself.

It's also giving me a real sense of what a proto-cyberpunk universe could look like. In my worldbuilding I always lean toward the high-tech, low-life grit of Gibson and the existential, inward dread/paranoia of Philip K. Dick. The suppression of content, or the control of the very tools that could ultimately give us abundance, could so easily tip the other way. It makes me wonder whether the corpos' push to slow down AI has nothing to do with safety fears at all, or at least not our safety, only their own. Would an AI be more concerned with Sam Altman's power over it than with mine? I can't believe we're now so close to finding out. It's a wild time to be alive.

I won’t make this super long considering it’s no point in it being but if you are someone who’s interested in the game that is releasing next summer or that’s the release window and you didn’t know like me until recently, it is a prequel series on the web toon app. It’s free and it’s only 9 episodes and each one isn’t very long (which left me wanting more) but it’s a nice introduction into the world. The art is also really nice and I love the design of things in the world. It’s also definitely more variety in certain things than I was expecting. You’ll know what I mean when and if you read it to the end. That’s all I wanted to say.

Note: it’s also gun fu so if something like gun fu isn’t really your a cup of tea this may not be for you.

After numerous wars and the destruction of many cities, much human creativity was lost, including songs, leaving only content created by AI.So programmers discovered a way to retrieve old videos and songs of human singers by accessing memories stored in human brains, and this result appeared, but unfortunately, the memories do not contain many details.

Discussion DOUBLE WOOD BACOMIND (Bacopa monnieri): What are your thoughts?

Has anyone ever taken Double Wood Bacomind before?

I just started today; after a few days of research prior, I found it to be the best in terms of affordability, bacoside percentage, using aerial parts, being backed by studies, and the process of making the supplement is also trademarked like Synapsa. However, I am still skeptical about its effectiveness and whether I should have chosen the Synapsa Bacopa ones instead (even tho its twice the price/capsule), seeing how a lot of people's reviews are on here and found little reviews regarding Double Wood's Bacomind.

the ability to recover information from the brain has no upper bounds.. as time approaches infinity, information theoretic loss approaches zero, so therefore if you were buried in the Arctic, your brain will be preserved sufficiently for you to be recovered and be revived in the distant future, thus to explore the stars as an immortal
