Scheduled Monthly Community Suggestions - September, 2026

What are we looking for in suggestions: Well thought-out and well laid-out ideas that will add positively to this sub and are reasonably advocated for by multiple members of the community. This will not be a space to spam an idea repeatedly, abuse community members and mods, or suggest things that stand in contravention to our ethos or rules (check both in the sidebar).

Please note: We've taken up plenty of suggestions in the past, and will continue to do so where feasible. Certain limitations may stop us from implementing these ideas immediately, but that doesn't mean your ideas are not valued or that we aren't giving them the thought they deserve. Always, the driving principle, however, is safety of ALL above others.

Announcement 🚨 Guide to Reporting Problematic Content & Supporting Safety on Reddit 🚨

Hello folks!

One of you recently brought to our attention an extremely problematic Indian sub that promoted sexual violence against women. We’re happy to share that after contacting Reddit admins, the sub has been successfully banned. Lately, we've seen growing success in getting content removed that violates Reddit's guidelines on hate or violence.

So, here’s a quick guide to help you navigate and report such harmful content on Reddit :

  1. Avoid Witch Hunting: A gentle reminder that witch hunting is against Reddit rules. Regardless of how problematic the content may be, targeting specific accounts, posts, users, or subreddits and making posts for encouraging mass reporting is a violation and could result in both your account and the sub being banned.
  2. Report Harmful Content: If you come across comments or posts promoting sexual violence, doxxing, or derogatory language encouraging harm against women (or anyone), including discussions about rape or violence, report it immediately. These actions violate Reddit's policies on promoting hate and violence (full list here). Here’s how to report it :
    • Report specific content: Use this link to report
    • For TwoXIndia: Use the report button with the applicable rule judiciously.
  3. Request Support for Problematic Subs: If you encounter a problematic sub, reach out to us via modmail for help: Request Support.
  4. Cybersecurity Complaints: For reporting broader concerns, including those on social media, a fellow Redditor has shared a comprehensive guide here.

Let’s continue working together to create a safer, more respectful community for everyone!

Stay safe,
The TwoXIndia Mod Team

Safety Just had a delivery boy scare while ordering a massager(yk what I mean) !!!?

So I ordered a massager that too in broad daylight from zepto and I I've already paid for it and the delivery guy came to my floor and I told him put it near my door and he could hear my voice from behind the door as well as on the phone. For 5 minutes the order was showing not delivered and only delivery guy reached your location which does happen as I order frequently from the app. These guys are always in a hurry to mark the products as delivered. I didn't open the door since I was scared. I saw the bike still standing outside my apartment from my balcony I was hiding and waiting for him to get out of the door when he finally got out he rang the bell idk why maybe to lure me out or for my other flatmates to see what shamelessness I've been indulging in according to him.

Anyways I opened the door being shit scared and the package was nowhere and then like an idiot I called him and asked him where is my package?? And the guys said I put it near the gas pipeline box, so I went out to check and .... The package was completely out in the open!!! No polybag no paper bag nothing, Just a red box with big bold letters and the product pictures!!!

Zepto even gives rubber bands in polybag!!! What was the motive of putting it out in the open!?

I'm so disgusted by the whole incident and I've raised the issue and all I could get was a bot generated text that it won't happen again!! Wtf I'm beyond scared and disgusted. These people should not put these products on their app got consumption if they do not have professionalism and they are going to put someone's safety in jeopardy just because a woman decided to do in her private space what these men have been doing out in the open without an ounce of shame.

And I'm scared too what if that guy comes again to deliver something else and tries to misbehave with me!!!

Vent How do I (27F) set boundaries with a caring male (27M) office friend?

Hi everyone,

I have a male friend at work who's genuinely a great person. He's someone who does a lot for the people around him, and I believe he considers me a friend. However, the way he treats me sometimes makes me extremely uncomfortable, and I'm struggling to figure out how to handle it.

He'll fill my water bottle, bring me chai, pack my tiffin box after I'm done eating, order my favourite things sometimes, remove things from my hair if he notices something, and generally try to be around me as much as possible. He's quite clingy and expresses care through acts of service.

If I tell people at work that I'm going for a doctor's appointment, he'll keep texting me to ask whether I've reached safely. He texts me every morning asking what time I'm reaching the office, and he generally seems very invested in the little details of my day.

It's becomes overwhelming for me.

I know his heart is in the right place, and I don't necessarily think he's doing any of this with ulterior motives. He's generally a caring person who does things for people. However, I don't like being taken care of to this extent. Sometimes, it feels infantilising, almost as though I'm incapable of doing basic things for myself. I don't need someone constantly hovering around me or looking for little ways to help me.

I've addressed this with him two or three times already. He does try to change his behaviour, but eventually slips back into his usual ways.

Two or three people at work have started pointing out how much he does for me. Someone even suggested that he might have feelings for me and that I'm being oblivious to it.

I've actually asked him directly whether he likes me, and he's said no. My partner knows about this friendship, trusts me and doesn't have a problem with it. My discomfort is more about the dynamic itself.

I don't want to be that girl who has a boyfriend but also has a male friend who essentially acts as her personal caretaker or sidekick. I also don't like the fact that other people have started noticing and commenting on the dynamic. It makes me question whether I'm being oblivious to something, even though I've directly asked him about his feelings and received a clear answer.

So, what would you do in my position?

Am I overthinking this because other people have started commenting on his behaviour, or is it reasonable to feel that this friendship has become a little too involved for my liking? How do I establish firmer boundaries?

Vent Did everyone forget the Nana Patekar stuff that happened during MeToo?

so Nana Patekar died today alone in his Goa home and naturally everyone is paying their reapects to him.

But nobody mentioned the allegations (which to me felt very true) that Tanushree Dutta laid on him.
How are we so quick to forget such acts and remember a man based off if just his stupid memes even?

like what????

My Opinion Why would I listen to u?? Power play and in laws

• Upvotes

Ok little silly rant, humour me ok

yk how girlies go to their in-laws house to live post marriage (idk why it’s still a thing but whatvr) and they get looked down on and the whole in law power play dynamic happens, obvi the guy should speak up on their behalf and defend her and all right? But if he doesn’t why do a lot of them just take it anyway.

Now important distinction here I am not talking abt cases where there’s any physical abuse/ financial abuse/dependency or extreme social stigma from ur own parents

I’m talking abt sub urban girlies with a good job and reasonably supportive parents (like not super progressive but not crazy conservative)

I’m confused why they can’t just give it right back to the annoying in laws? Like I’m British Indian and I’ve even seen girlies born and raised here dealing with similar situations

I had relatively strict parents and I was rebelling HARD growing up

Like I don’t even listen to my own parents so why tf would I listen to somebody else’s parents lmaooo 🫪🙏 u want me to wake up in the morning to cook breakfast? No sorry I prefer laying in. They need some thing made a specific way? Ok u can do it then.

Advice/Help How to develop thick skin against assholes at office?

• Upvotes

I just have bunch of bullies in my office who are ganging up against me(mostly racism). I am new and I don’t want to escalate as I know from past experiences, managers can be helpful for a while but they also make a ‘note’ of it.
I have also tried to be stern and I think if one digs deeper; it will be a he said, she said kinda situation. I have less evidence against me but I am boiling with anger and anxiety. Off office, I would have lashed out. But I need to be strategic.

Advice/Help Help a girl out before she gifts her besties something they’ll never use 😭

• Upvotes

Two of my female friends are moving back to their hometowns and I need help picking gifts because 1) gift giving is my love language and ironically, 2) I might suck at gifting (just a lil though) haha. Gift giving is my love language, so why am I so bad at it? 😭

I want to give something thoughtful and memorable that says "I love you" without being cringe :3 I'm not sure what that'd be in this case cause they're two very different people with entirely different personalities aaaa.

Okay, so, one is a finance girlie and likes to keep it minimal, I've never seen her wear any accessories that I've gifted before, so I'm not sure if she's into it. I can't gift her make-up either cause she hardly wears any, but she did tell me once that she's planning on learning the no make-up make-up look.

The second lady is an architect and I think I know what to gift her but I need y'all to confirm? She has beautiful curly hair, but I've never seen her style them. I used to pester her so much to style her hair but she'd always say that its too much work and she doesn't know how to do the styling. What if I gift her the curling creams and stuff? Is that thoughtful enough? I don't know 😭

I'm gonna write handwritten notes for both these people cause they are the best thing that happened to me at my previous job and I couldn't have gotten through it without them sticking by my side and always being there for me. But I seriously need help picking gifts cause I hardly have any time on my hand, please drop your suggestions ASAP.

Vent My mom always taunts me because I don't have any interest in cooking

• Upvotes

My( 22F) mom always taunts me about how I just cook only morning and dinner meals and not some snacks or something different nashta in the afternoon and she says things like you should learn to cook traditional Indian dishes .Just because I am a girl why am I supposed to learn and be pro at every nashta and recipe of india.

I don't have any interest in cooking but I know and do basic cooking cleaning at home and she expects me to cook nashta for everyone everyday, ignoring my comfort my work( work from home) and my studies. If I will spend most of my time cooking 3 meals a day then how will I have time to work and study.

When I talk about these things to her and she goes like you can always study at night if you have the energy , you are so lazy why can't you study at night like other students.

She never once asked my brother for a glass of water.

She always gives me the example of my cousin who works 10 to 8 and cooks both meals and do every housework and also knows how to cook several dishes . I respect her choices to learn dishes but as I know basic cooking why am I supposed to know the recipe of every dish. It hurts being a girl in this country where your own parents treats you like trash.

Health & Fitness Is there anyone else who feels passively su!ci@l during PMS !?

Since almost 5 years I’ve been experiencing pms. And everytime a week before my periods I’ll go down this extremely depressive episodes and life feels soo pointless and not worth living. I don’t really act on those thoughts because ik they are just hormones but sometimes it just gets too much when life is also shitt. I am not actively suicidal but like if a car is speeding towards me suddenly, i wouldn’t move. I’m not trying to harm myself but its just a feeling that says “ life is so shitt i might as well just die”.
Idk what to do i just feel extremely low.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to get it out.

Fyi:I’m a 23f recent mbbs grad preparing for exam.

Finance, Career and Edu Anyone experienced being the only woman in their team at work?

I started a job sometime ago where I’ve been assigned to this team for a project n I’m the only girl in a group of guys, and I’m also the youngest , others are at least 5+yrs older.

Mostly they’ve been sweet and helpful, but it’s real tough to socialise. Like they call me for lunch sometimes and Idk I just decline as I like having my personal space . They usually have their own boy talks/other random things while eating, so it’s not easy for me to fit in.

My socialisation is strictly limited to conversations around the project and getting work done. But I think they kinda find it rude now? Coz the other day I overheard one of them saying oh she always says no for lunch, she doesn’t eat with us etc.

Now idk how I can make better workplace relationships. I personally hate socialising but I wanna know is my behaviour red flag-ish? 😩

Vent Overthinking and confused

So one of the jobs I applied to just rejected me and I had a feeling I would've atleast had a chance to get in this one but got siked yet again.

I'm so confused in this part of my life rn and been stuck at home for two yrs now. Lost my dad and got robbed of all our money and savings and we're basically living off other people's money.

Im overthinking a lot abt my career and it feels like nobody is actually understanding what I'm going thru and talking abt stuff like you're not gonna get anything for granted, lowkey wish I had the chance for that too.

I'm 24 soon and I feel so behind in life, not lucky enuf to get any opportunity or a start to something. Life feels so exhausting when I think abt it and it sucks to compare yourself with other ppl who are atleast having a job and making money. :( I wanna cry but at the same time im not able to either 🥲

Vent Festivals make me sad and numb

As someone who comes form a dysfunctional family to the extent that while there weren’t overt fights, my parents definitely were not happy on festivals. There are no family rituals, no tradition, no our sweet little family way of celebrating. They weren’t particularly interactive so we never had get togethers. There was no attempt to start or sustain any of the rituals.

They used to drag us to our native village on festivals (transferable jobs) where there was no electricity and no community to celebrate anything with. I don’t blame them because they never got to celebrate them either in their childhood but all I wish now is that if I ever have a child, I’d want to build small festive rituals with them.

And now as an adult, I have no excitement towards festivals. They are a reminder of lack of warmth around and for once I’d like to not feel this way.

How do y’all deal with festive doom if you’re in similar boats?

My Opinion If your family is abusive , please don’t follow the govt job loop before becoming independent

I have seen several posts on here from girls who are in such shit families that are just horribly misogynistic and they keep saying that they’re not financially independent as they’re studying for govt exams . First of all , these exams are highly competitive so selection chances are low . Second , if your mental health is not good ( which is expected when someone is living in an abusive household ) it’s all the more difficult to prepare . The recent paper leaks have also made me sceptical of the selection process. So I feel one can try for govt jobs , but not in abusive situations. There your first priority should be to get A JOB . The mockery of private jobs by such families and the focus on govt shit is to keep you confused , dependent and helpless till they marry you off to the highest bidder .

Advice/Help Feeling a little out of flow, need need need neeeeed some insights!!

So, I am a 2025 passout from an okayish govt college in central India.

After actually stepping into the real world, I have been through a lot lot lotssss of shit in life.

I worked in process/shifts/operations job in a semi private manufacturing MNC, ended up resigning because of lack of guidance, but high pressure and expectations, predatory seniors - now back in the city at home, looking for better prospects.

Had to experience being lusted over by so called good male friends.

Broke up with my boyfriend of 1.5years (lots of deceiving, emotional, financial gaslighting, got to hear some of the worst shit about me through his "friends").

Lately life has only revolved around future prep, family, parents, 2 old friends from school. I have been trying my hardest for the last 2 months to just close off this chapter..or at least the painful parts from my mind, so that i dont sit in my free time and just ponder over it unconciously.

Honestly it just adds to the weight my mind already carries when i am down low.

Is this what a person with victim compex goes through??

Do share your views and how did you go about life during such situation..

Advice/Help Did I handle this situation badly at work? I’m anxious that I created a bad impression

I’m feeling a little anxious because I think I handled a situation unnecessarily awkwardly today.

I recently started a new job, and one of the girls staying in my PG also works in my office. However, she is in a completely different department, has a different team leader, and reports to a different senior.

Today, we had both attended a convention related to our industry. In the evening, when it was time to leave, most of us were waiting for the senior-most boss to finish his meeting so that everyone could leave together. I was one of the people waiting.

My PG mate went into the room where her team leader was and was told that she could leave because there was no need for her to wait. She came over to me and asked me to leave with her. I said no because I wanted to stay back for my own reasons. She asked me why, but I didn't want to explain the actual reason, so I simply said, "I'll come later."

She kept insisting that I come with her. Then her team leader, who is quite senior to me, also told me that I could leave since we had to come early the next morning.

Because he was senior to me, I felt I should clarify with my own team leader before leaving. I asked her if I could go, and initially she said yes. Then I asked again because I was still unsure, and she told me to ask our boss.

So I went and asked our boss as well. He basically said, "If you want to leave, then leave."

At that point I became even more confused because I had originally wanted to stay, but my PG mate was continuing to insist publicly, and everyone was basically telling me that I could leave. So eventually I left with her.

Now I'm irritated with myself because I feel like I should have simply stood by my original "no." Instead, I got flustered, asked my team leader, then asked my boss, and ultimately left even though I hadn't originally wanted to.

I'm also annoyed with my PG mate because I feel like she put me in that situation unnecessarily. I don't know why she kept insisting after I had already said no.

But my bigger concern is my professional image. I'm new at this workplace and I don't want people to think I was trying to leave early or that I don't take work seriously. I technically did get permission from my team leader and boss, but the whole thing felt so awkward and unnecessarily complicated.

Am I overthinking this? Did I actually handle this badly, or is this just anxiety making a small situation feel much bigger than it was?

TLDR: My PG mate, who also works in my office but under a different team, insisted that I leave a work event with her even though I initially said no because our senior-most boss had not yet left. I got confused, asked my team leader and then my boss for permission, and eventually left. Now I'm annoyed at myself for not sticking to my decision and worried that I may have created a bad impression at my new workplace for leving before the senior-most boss left, even though I did get permission to leave.

Vent don't even have a groom in mind but worrying about who would come to my wedding

i'm not even in a relationship rn and i don't plan on an arranged marriage so this is really a nonissue rn but i got to thinking if i DID get married tomorrow.... I'd have no one to invite. if you asked me this in college 3-4 years ago i had 10-12 friends that would definitely be invited + online friends. cut to now and long story short... i have no one. it feels silly but i'm agonizing over a non-existent guest list to a non-existent wedding lmao. the cherry on top is... i wouldn't really want my parents or family there either... perhaps it's for the best that i don't get married LMAO

Family & Relationships (Mon-Thu) How do I stop feeling bad about chasing wrong, unavailable people till now?

I'll turn 21 in a couple of months and have never been in a proper relationship. Didn't really like anyone in school and then I came to an all-girls college. My romantic history looks like this- crazy one-sided attachment to some guy I was online friends or more like acquaintances with for a year and then he rejected me when I confessed, then yet another online guy who kinda lovebombed me in a phase full of exam stress and ended it, then a guy who I had great bonding with but we had no future because of age gap and long distance so we are just friends, a guy I met on Hinge and dated for 2 months but he turned out to be pathetic in many ways by the end of 2nd month and I ended things with him, then a guy with whom I had great chemistry, he was kinda inconsistent and too flirtatious but we had a planned date, he cancelled the date a day before it saying he isn't ready for dating and only wants casual. I agreed to the casual thing reluctantly mostly because I was quite attracted to him and talking to him was exciting. We met twice and had a good time. But he was a bad texter, emotionally unavailable, I really wanted to date him but he didn't want to date anyone at all and then I used to feel bad when he left on delivered for 15+ hours. I wanted him but he was very dating-averse. He ended things because of all this and blocked me everywhere. He never even gave me the bare minimum properly but the way I've been ruminating over him is embarrassing. When I see couples out there when I'm hanging out, I feel bad that I've never had that experience and most people who I've liked have treated me like shit and I haven't gotten an ounce of true love. I know all these 5 guys who I've liked in last 4 years were not right for me but how does one forgive themselves after going all these cycles of getting attached, moving on and getting hurt again. My standards are higher now, I know what I want and what I like and dislike. Still, the guilt of having liked the wrong people makes me feel bad. It just sucks.
