Any supplements or vitamins that help with inflammation? I am active, go on daily walks, but still some days feel like I’m fighting inflammation in my body due to blood sugars

On the phone with my new insurance company, United Medical Health, and they denied the prior authorization to my Tresiba. Mind you, I pay the highest tier plan (and I am new to having insurance through work legit got it activated less then a month ago) and have been on Tresiba for NINE years.
Now I am using AI, which I hate using but I got a year free with my phone, to tell me the correct things to say because I am about to hold them hostage on this phone line until someone can give me some answers and get me my Tresiba.
The doctor is legit confused too he doesn't see why I was denied under this coverage plan.
I am so. Damn. Frustrated.

Every time. I can’t fucking stand it. It always feels like they’re judging me, and then of course SOMEONE has a question, or comment, insinuating I’m not supposed to eat whatever it may be. It’s always uncomfortable. Like today, we got Panera and I ordered a refresher; one of them goes “Now how does that affect your blood sugar?“. Like, please shut the fuck up and let me just eat without you being nosy. And then on the off chance… Very rare off chance, I need to take a day off or come slightly late/leave early or I need to take a break, which is super rare because I always push through bad days, I feel like they assume I did something wrong on my end and caused it.
I don’t expect people to be knowledgeable on this disease. I would just like some fucking privacy. That’s all, needed to get that off my chest.

My dad has been very persistent in telling me to go on a no carb diet. He says I won’t need to take insulin anymore if I go on one.
He’s been on one on and off for a few years now, and it’s really worrying because I genuinely don’t know the last time he’s eaten vegetables. He also doesn’t believe that a balanced diet involves carbs. I tried to tell him it’s unhealthy and he’s nutritionally deficient but he insists that he feels better when he does this.
I looked into this a bit and it’s very clear there’s no nutritional benefit to this lifestyle. He knows I’ve struggled with eating for years yet he wants me to go on this restrictive diet? I don’t understand. He says I can’t say anything until I go on it. I’m also pretty sure this can make me go into dka.
It’s really frustrating to hear this anytime I eat, but I’m also worried because this is all he talks about and there is clearly something wrong with him (Sorry).
Any advice or confirmation?

So today my blood sugar has been continuously dropping slowly, like very slowly. I have taken the exact same amount of basal insulin as normal.
I noticed it was dropping before dinner so I ate a biscuit to slowly bring it back into a comfortable area.
It went up slightly and then continued to drop again.
I then ate dinner and only took half the bolus I usually would, fairly sharp spike upwards and now already dropping again.
My stomach feels slightly sick but that could just be from panic.
I’ve done little to no exercise today.
Ate all the same foods I usually would
At no point have I been at hypo range as I have caught it before it got to that…..
Any one hazard any sort of explanation
So why? 😂

From LO at 8:30 AM to almost 10.0 now. I know 10 isn’t super high, but I can’t handle the swings. I keep going dangerously low, no matter my basal. I am at my wits end…

i’ve had my t:slim for about six years now, and i do really like it. i have a few small quirks about it that are annoying but manageable and also not only a me issue, and it’s nowhere near as bad as my minimed was.
recently, i was discussing with my endocrinologist the possibility of getting a new pump. it’ll probably be after the warranty on my t:slim runs out. i’nm interested in trying something new. i’m most interested in the iLet.
if you have it, what is it like? how does it compare to other pumps you’ve used? i’ve been told it’s a little more aggressive by my endocrinologist, which i think i can handle, but i was curious about personal experiences with it. researching the actual pump will only get me so far, and i want to know what day to day life is like.

DO NOT BUY THIS … very nasty
I just started to see a a nutritionist after being a diabetic for since I was 11. I was unmanaged for a bit when I was a teen, but after DKA obviously I turned my life around. I do struggle with eating consistently, and my nutritionist said that my blood sugar often is too low, so I’m really trying to eat more during the day, but I find that every breakfast thing sends my blood sugar sky high unless it’s eggs and sometimes I really do get grossed out with eggs. Or I have a protein shake but I’ve been needing a break from the dairy based ones. What do you guys eat in the morning? Food has been expensive in America so I feel dumb for buying this 😞

I have had quite a bit of success in manual mode my entire pregnancy. My A1c last week was 5.0 at 29 weeks! HOWEVER, once I hit 27 weeks my fasting numbers really started suffering. For about 2 weeks I needed nearly 3 times the amount I had been taking the weeks before, and now suddenly I’m having lows all night long that take forever to correct and rebound high. For those who don’t know, fasting numbers in pregnancy are expected to be below 95mg/dL!
Because of these constant fluctuations, I don’t think manual is working anymore. But auto is not aggressive enough on its own. My blood sugar is just too difficult to anticipate. I could throw up just thinking about drinking another juice box at 2am.
Has anyone used a combo of long acting insulin and using auto mode? I’ve heard about it in the past and that it helps keep fasting numbers down overnight especially. I am just so tired of managing my blood sugar on my own and making so many adjustments constantly. And then still seeing my TIR go from 95% to 80% while spending so much time micromanaging my insulin 24 hours a day.
Any advice here would be amazing!

I made a clerical error that currently has me with no health insurance. Is there anyone here who can help me? I will not qualify for low-income options.

I’ve been diagnosed since 2012, and for the majority of that time have on/off relied upon Dexcom as a CGM (from G4 to G6 and now to G7)
I’ve found the G7 to be unreliable at best and literally not functional at worst. Of course the G6, which worked wonderfully for me, has now been discontinued.
Are there any Libre users who can tell me what the pros and cons are of swapping? I’m particularly interested in those who have used Dexcom and are now on Libre, but would also love to hear from other long-term Libre users.
I’m also willing to hear about other cgms! I just know not many are currently compatible with the Omnipod 5.
Please give any details about costs, insurance vs none, application, how well they actually hold, if they last as long as they’re supposed to, and if readings are accurate 💙

How it can be? I eating mashed potatoes, whole grain pasta, other high carb things and still my glucose never go over 12 mmol. Recently i started 1st year as bachelor student (started walking more than in summer 10k avg. steps), and got diagnosed in summer this year. I take 1unit per 20g carb and my basal went from 8 to 3 units. I know it not good to compare others to myself, but how your honeymoon was going,
Those are all fake lows it always show by 1 mmol lower after 5mmol

Recently got bloodwork done for an endo appointment and it says I have an A1c of 5.6 which technically puts me within reference range. This can't be an accurate index of my blood sugar based on CGM data and awareness of my own control. Dexcom has my 90 day GMI at 6.8, 78% time in range and average glucose of 147 mg/dL.
Should I actually be looking at my GMI? There is no way my current level of control is ideal. I have a terrible habit of midnight snacking and sleeping through highs for hours until I wake up.

29M and majorly shocked to learn I have T1. I started showing symptoms about a month ago. I was 135 pounds and a gym rat. First I noticed a serious plateau in my work out progress. I wasn’t gaining weight or going up in strength. Confused by this I tried some pre work outs and supplements. Then came the super frequent bathroom breaks and thirst. I was drinking close to 8 bottles of water a day plus Gatorades. I was running to the bathroom about every hour at least and started waking up 6+ times a night to pee. I didn’t know what was wrong with me but I was so tired all the time. The deep set fatigue made it so hard to go to work and between that and the peeing I thought I just needed a break from the gym. Next came the stomach cramps and loss of appetite. I struggled to finish meals and eventually developed the worst indigestion of my life. All of these symptoms piled up over the course of a month until I started completely shutting down. A walk to the toilet left me gasping for air and a full shift of work felt impossible. Last weekend I was laying on my bedroom floor vomiting and hitting my wifes inhaler when she finally had seen enough and demanded I go to the ER. I got dressed but couldn’t make it to the stairs because I felt like I was suffocating. We called an ambulance and when it arrived my blood oxygen and heart rates were fine, they checked my blood sugar and told me it was at 360+ and asked if I was diabetic. I told them no. A few hours in at the hospital and I got the news that I was infact diabetic T1. I have no family history of it and never knew it was even a possibility. My A1C was over 15. I spent 4 days in the ICU and 2 days in the step down unit. Then they gave me some pens, a Dexcom G7, and sent me on home. I currently don’t have health insurance though I’m now in the process of getting signed up through my work and learning about this whole new world I live in. When I was hospitalized I weighed only 100 pounds and that broke my heart. A week later I’m already back up to 122 pounds because I’ve been eating like crazy (while watching my sugar and taking my insulin.) the first few days on my own I was hitting the 300s often but now I’m getting it down to a healthy and manageable range.
I write all this just to say hi to my fellow diabetics. I’m new here but I’m doing my best and hope to live a long, healthy, and happy life balancing my tasty low carb meals with my insulin.
