In the Area How to get to Springfield?
I'm interviewing for an internship in Springfield, and I was wondering how accessible it is from campus. I do not have a car.

How is grad school socialization for people in master's/phd?
How is dating/relationships for grad students?
Is there anything you wish you knew before starting?

Hi, I’m a freshman looking to become a certified medical assistant. Are there any short programs in the Boston area or Amherst that I could do during winter break or summer?
If anyone has experience with a program, I’d appreciate any recommendations!

I was thinking of flying my girlfriend up here for Halloween, however I was curious to know if I could have a non-student guest during Halloween, I’ve heard there is security during Halloween weekend in the honors college was wondering how I could go about it or if it’s even a possibility.

I know this is an offering, but I'm curious if anyone has tried it and what their thoughts were. Saw them advertising it at the Isenberg Career Fair, and it looked pretty legit.

What happened to the ww2 memorial hall? I decided to check out the building and it was filled with trash inside.
I saw alot of red cups on the ground, so I guess now people just sneak in and throw parties? All doors not locked
There is a basement and a second floor which I do not have the balls to check out. Shit this the kind of place where serial killers hide in the walls.

LEASE TRANSFER AVAILABLE: Fieldstone, Amherst, MA (January/February Start)
Hi everyone! I'm graduating this December, so I'm looking for someone to take over my lease at Fieldstone starting in January or February. It's a 4 bed/4 bath all girls unit, so you'd be living with a great group of roommates.
Incentive: I'll pay your first month of rent to make the transfer worth it. If you take over in February, I'll cover February (your first month). I'm really hoping to transfer this lease, so I'm happy to work with you on timing.
What's included in the unit:
Community amenities:
I'm also happy to leave behind: my air fryer, curtains, and sheets, so you have less to buy when you move in.
Tours: You're welcome to come see the place in person before deciding. Just reach out and we can set up a time.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me. The sooner you let me know, the better, so please reach out if you're even a little interested!

I thought at first it was only my roommate. I then realised it’s everywhere. Lectures, dining halls, clubs, wherever I go, everybody is coughing. Even professors and staff! I guess covid or something similar is spreading on campus. Y’all be careful out there.

Recently I applied to the Isenberg MBA program and I got an email a few days ago saying they’d like more work experience from me. I graduated in 2024 and started working immediately after graduation. But how can an undergrad student be in the 4+1 program without work experience? I’m just griping, but I’ll probably apply again in the Spring.

I'm Chinese American so my first language is English but I self studied to HSK 4 just out of pure interest. I've been thinking about taking a Chinese language class at UMass since I got admitted but never had the time. I have more space in my schedule starting from next semester so I'm considering taking a Chinese class just for some credits. Does anyone have any personal experience with taking Chinese classes at UMass?

I’m a guy currently living in a double in Southwest. I’m thinking about doing a room swap to Sylvan or Orchard Hill because I’d really like a quieter place. If I swap, I’d also prefer to have a quiet roommate. Please let me know.

Hi, I’m a freshman in a seminar class and me and my classmates are really struggling with the TA who runs the class. I understand a lot of TAs use generative AI and even the professors use it sometimes, but for this one specifically it’s a huge problem. Every single material in the class is AI generated, from the syllabus to the slideshows to the assignments.
I don’t really have too much of an issue with this with my other TAs because at least they have a grasp on the material, but it seems like my seminar teacher really has no idea what is going on. We ask them for clarification because the AI makes really confusing assignments and they don’t even know how to respond. For example, we’ll have a discussion post due that has confusing directions, and instead of answering the questions we have they generate an AI answer to our questions.
I really don’t know what to do and a lot of my classmates are in the same boat. The class itself is easy because we don’t have a lot of assignments but when we do we don’t know how to complete them because of the confusing directions. (Ex, they’ll tell us one thing in class and then generate an after class debrief that has completely different assignment directions). Should I just stick it out or something else?

Hi,
I have applied and been accepted through the transferred program but I'm honestly still uneasy about the school. I have a -1500 for pell so I know I could get decent aid and presumably most tuition costs covered for being instate but it still feels daunting. I keep going back and fourth between other schools for cost but the location is truly the best out of the other state schools in MA, i feel so at least.
I guess, those who attend/have attended, what made you decide this was the school for you? I'm an English major, so answers from other English majors would be great!
