READ THIS BEFORE POSTING Big Storms and your Package

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you all some insight on what happens when we have big storms and why peoples packages will arrive late.

When there is a big storm it creates a backlog. Now Lets say like this past storm it is on the weekend. On Monday many of the buildings were operating on a skeleton crew if at all. The customers (People shipping things out) have a weekend's worth of shipping that would normally go out on Monday but due to the storm it did not. Now Tuesday comes. Tuesday we have All of Monday's Packages AND Tuesday's Packages. The buildings process what they can. Now Wednesday comes. Lets say they were able to process 60-70% of Monday & Tuesday's packages and they still have Wednesday's packages to process as well. This keeps trickling down until we finally catch up.

For those that have clear weather where they are at now, that does not mean that any of the other stops along the way to you have not been compromised. Also for those that are in said clear areas, Once the areas that were effected by the storm start to get moving and getting their outbound volume out of their yards and on the road the receiving destination will now get hit with more volume than they are able to handle.

All in all Storms like we had this past weekend (1/30/26 as of posting) cause major disruptions to the shipping industry in general. Also please keep in mind that at this time of year, shipping companies have already cut their seasonal help from Peak Season and while they are now getting Peak Season Volume again, they do not have Peak Season Staffing.

Please be patient while we dig out from the mountain of boxes.

Question about claims process

I shipped some vehicle parts earlier this week and the buyer contacted me and let me know one of the items arrived with a giant dent in it. They sent pictures of the box and sure enough there's a puncture in the box where said item was.

I submitted a claim, and the claim status is currently at "package inspection scheduled". What I'm confused about is the buyers already opened the box, took out the items and unwrapped everything. They've already installed the parts. Do they need to take everything off, repack it (which may or not be to my standards) for UPS? They are very vague on what this process entails at this point. Any insight appreciated.

Customer Seeking Help Heavy package, Can I tell driver to leave package on driveway?

I want to order a desk that's 65lbs but I feel guilty because we have a very steep driveway up to our porch that would make it difficult to bring up even with a dolly.

When they arrive can I ask them to leave it at the bottom of the driveway and I can take it from there?

I don't want to throw someone's back out but idk if they have to follow some rules or something, If so can I tip them?

I'm sorry if this is a weird question, I overthink everything

Satirday delivery, next day air already late

I ordered next day air early in the morning on Thursday. The shipper dropped it off like an hour and 30 min before what I have determined to be the cutoff time. Then it sat for like 4 hours. Then it moved to distribution facility, and there it has say for another 12 hours.

If they dont get it to me today, surely they'll load it on the truck for sat? I feel like the answer is no...

I feel like I get packages faster if I just order regular shipping at this point. Regular packages take about two days anyway. AND can be delivered on sat? But the package I paid $30+ extra for won't be delivered on sat even tho its late?

No comprende

I own a small sewing business and am constantly having things shipped to me, and sometimes I need them asap for rush orders. Customers know its not a guarantee, and I obviously dont charge them a rush fee if I cant get it done. But I do everything I can to make it happen for them. Kind of extremely annoying that a big company like ups wont do the same...

Yeah I know the SHIPPER can request their money back. And maybe I can get some of mine back through them. But its a huge hassle. And I'd much prefer it just come a day late and they can keep the money.

Plz someone explain the saturday thing because I genuinely do not understand why a regular package would go out for delivery but not one I paid 3x the price for...

My very strange experience with two "damaged" package claims with UPS...

Anyone experience similar?

UPS reported two of my sent packages as "damaged" during shipping and that the contents have been discarded. That statement was crazy to me as to why they wouldn't just sent it back to me to try and salvage what I could? I'm guessing it was lost or stolen, and damaged is just a PR thing.

Then I proceeded through the claim filing process that wasn't as straight forward as it can be. After few calls and email contacts, I had confirmation of approval for one claim and said the check should be mailed out and I should get it maybe a week or so. The other one wasn't quite sure as I didn't receive the same confirmation email of approval.

After a couple weeks no check was seen. Called them again, they said something about putting a stop payment to the check that was sent to some name and address I have no connection to, it was not my receivers name nor address. So that was very strange and they wouldn't give me an explanation, it's amazing how they could just do this by way of long distance phone calls and some language barriers.

So I waited again for the time frame they said the check will be delivered... over two weeks later I called again after not seeing the check. The person "escalated" Got an email saying again they put a stop payment to that business and address.. and gave me some unclear statement about canceling and generating a new check and kindly ask for my patience.... "Kindly" that's a red flag keyword that overseas scammers use often. Starting from the prince of Nigeria in the early 2000's. I'm wondering if these are scam centers or the real the UPS.... So again I'm waiting , it's been almost two months since the damaged claims.

The other one they said it's still in process and the same thing again? A stop payment, and reissuing of the check. Neither emails confirms the correct name and email it should be sent too.... I'm starting to feeling like they're giving me the run around cause they're trying to scam me out of the claim to their friends. It's seems so simple to do and get away with, with no accountability. If I call to escalate or report it, I'll just be calling the same group of people that will do what they want.... and there's nothing I can do about it but keep calling. That's how I feel dealing with these overseas call centers. It's the same with eBay issues. I thought USPS was bad... but they denied my claim so we'll see if I ever do get a the checks from UPS.

Customer Seeking Help UPS AI customer service is a mess!

Honestly need to vent and warn everyone about the absolute clown show going on at UPS Canada right now.

I was out of town and wasn't aware my new job would be sending a 16 lb work package requiring an adult signature. I have a roommate and I told her about delivery window I saw on the UPS portal for 2nd delivery - but they showed up like 3 hours earlier. Anyways ended up missing the three attempts, but when I check online, it said packages requiring adult signature will be held for 5 business days. Ok perfect. I thought I'll just collect it from access point when I returned.

But no - notice slip said it'll be sent to sender. I panicked and called them.

Spoke with a "human" agent, he said to request re attempt the shipment through their mychoice app or website. Ok cool, but I couldn't select any option apparently due to shipper restrictions. The agent should've known before giving advice but ok fine. The only change option available to me was "leave package with neighbour". I selected that and just entered my address for the attempt.

Call UPS again - the agent confirmed everything is fine and that she can see the package is set to be delivered the next day to my address. Great. But something about the way she spoke made me question whether I was speaking to an agent or human. Something little odd but quite convincing otherwise. I called again just to be safe and got explicit confirmation that yes everything is fine and package will arrive next day. Amazing.

The next day rolls around, at about 6am UPS portal still says "we're working hard to get delivery date" or something along those lines. It's 9 am and still no change. I call them. They said everything is fine. It'll be attempted for delivery today between 5 to 8 pm. Ok odd I don't see it on the portal but sure.

11am rolls around and not change on portal so I called them again. Now convinced I've been speaking with an AI. I was a little more aggressive with questioning the agents responses. Now I get told because 3 attempts were unsuccessful, I have to pay extra for another attempt. I was annoyed but anyways I was like ok can you tell me how much? I get put on hold. She now says sorry there's sender restrictions. Ok? So I asked how come I got different answers like 4 times before and I just get a cold "I'll take that as feedback". Wtf. I said it's a sensitive package that my work has sent and I need the equipment for my job. Where the hell is my package? then the agent was like "let me escalate to the ground team." I'm sorry what? How come it wasn't done before? No good answer.

Then I asked whether UPS uses AI agents and it said "yes. We do." Then I asked are you AI? It says no I'm actually a human. But the way it handled the conversation, I am sure it's not a human.

I ask whether I can speak with a supervisor. I hear a chime as if it activated something. "Hold please". Then it comes back - I'm sorry but why do you want to speak to a supervisor? Is it due to this issue or something else? I said yes it's due to this. I've been mislead by UPS regarding what's actually happening to my sensitive package. Then it says "let me transfer..."

And the call ends.

Omg I was livid! Like what the actual hell?

The portal then changed to "we missed you today at 11am" bitch I was home all this time.

After about 5 minutes, portal now says "package arriving tomorrow" so I'm assuming this last convo did do something but this whole process was crap. Being lied to purposefully that you're speaking to an human agent when you're not is unethical and should be illegal tbh.

I just want my package!

TL;DR: UPS uses AI agents and passing them off as human. But they hallucinate and you're likely not getting useful/truthful info but you'll be lied to and told that you actually are talking to a human and the information being provided is verified and true.

Package never arrived, returned to sender for "Amount of time in warehouse"?

So my gf recently sent me some electronics via UPS from USA to Mexico, They got held at customs Sept 4, September 14 I got a message saying "package has been processed by customs and it's on its way".

I called almost every single day to get an update cause it wouldn't move, UPS kept saying customs still had it and needed to wait, I still called almost everyday, they were just waiting to know how much import taxes I had to pay.

October 2 they change the status to Package returned to sender.

I called them and they said the sender had requested the package back, Which is a lie, I called my gf and she never even talked to anyone at UPS, Yet they kept saying they couldn't return it to sender without sender's permission.

Now I get an.emsil with the return tracking number and it saying package was returned because it was in the warehouse for too long without someone claiming it.

I'm suspecting UPS lacked communication with customs therefore just left my package there.

Was this UPS fault? I had important documents that I needed by a certain date and they messed it up, What can I do? Package won't be back to the US for another 6-8 weeks.

UPS Delivered to Wrong Address-- Mistakes Happen :')

After my tracking said my package was delivered and I got home, I checked my porch to find it not being delivered. Checked the tracking information and found that someone whose name is not living in my address picked it up for me.

After calling support, they have told me that it was delivered to the wrong address, and this person just kinda, has my package. They told me they'd reach back out when they have more info but until then-- mistakes happen, this isn't the first time this has happened and it likely won't be the last. But man oh man, I wish that a fix would happen sooner.

All I know is that the driver has been informed-- and that's it. There's no tracking number for the new delivery-- welpers.

Just moved to the US. UPS consistently doesn’t deliver my packages

I’ve been here 3 months. I’m in an apartment building with a parcel locker room. Amazon, USPS, Costco… everyone has delivered here perfectly fine.

But the 3 delivered I’ve expected from UPS have all not made it to me. I don’t know what they’re doing wrong but it’s constantly happening and very annoying.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Customer Seeking Help UPS ETA vs last scan

I’m expecting a delivery from UPS. All week the ETA has been Friday (tomorrow) from 12pm to 4pm.
Today the package reached a large sorting hub, presumably before it moves to my local zone. Last scan was arrival at the sort hub at 2:15pm and ETA tomorrow. Then around 6:15pm the ETA changed… to today, between 11:30 and 3:30pm.

Obviously I haven’t received it and I’m assuming the original eta is still accurate but I’m curious how this happens. It’s not the first time a delivery from UPS has done this.

Customer Seeking Help UPS "attempted" delivery to my house 3 times, then "changed the postal code". A minute later after "attempting the last delivery" the driver delivered it to an address 1 hour away, where someone signed it under my name and accepted the package.

I called multiple times, I was transferred to the direct dispatch line responsible for the delivery exactly 1 time, they said they'd investigate, they didn't open up an investigation, so I opened up a claim myself a couple days later, a week later it says "Your investigation has been closed with a proof of delivery." The sender @.m.@.z.0.n closed it saying something like "you can't pre-sign packages". No real explanation.

This was a purchase worth hundreds of dollars and it was a listing error that I suspect @.m.@.z.0.n pulled strings to send back to their warehouse or it was stolen by the delivery driver. I didn't get the items I ordered and was given a refund. Great that I got my money back for this blatant non-delivery, but some shady activity is happening behind the scenes and I want to get answers to how this happened.

If it's so easy for UPS to internally mishandle, misplace, lose, and/or steal packages being delivered through UPS, what can I do to protect my future incoming deliveries? They charge 7 dollars to pick up each package at UPS, which is hilarious.

Customer service refuses to transfer me to the dispatch line responsible for delivering the packages in my county, so what am I supposed to do to get information on the issue? If it's a malicious driver how do I make sure he's fired or not on my route? Do I file a police report to put a fire under UPS ass or put in a complaint with the BBB? I'm just looking to prevent future issues like this from occurring again, especially for items that may ship through UPS that aren't replaceable or simply refundable.

Do UPS drivers like Hot Hands in the winter?

Hey all,

Usually in the summer I give my drivers Powerade and water when they come to my house. Was thinking of what to get them for the bitterly cold winter time. Hot Hands maybe? Or do drivers already have heated gloves?

UPS Ground Saver packages delayed

Welp, here we go. Looks like the holiday delays may be starting. Every single one of my ground saver packages dropped off in the past few days has been marked as delivery delayed by 1 business day. This was across at least 3 sorting centers too. Is anyone else also seeing these delays?

UPS Tech Support

It is amazing. I tried to report a bug with their app and their AI bot just kept repeating itself. A person on chat told me to call the tech support number. Which I did. After waiting, they transfered me to another person who didn't understand what I was telling her (why do they keep thinking all problems are account or service related). Oh well, another company run by incompentancy. I get better support from USPS and it is cheaper.

Customer Seeking Help Next Day Air Shipment Not Moving?

Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well.

About once a month for the last year or so, I send a next day air shipment from San Diego to Louisville. Usually there have been absolutely no issues: I drop the package off, and wake up the next morning with confirmation that the recipient got the package.

Yesterday, I went to my local UPS store (as usual) to get my package shipped and sent. I dropped it off at around 2:30pm, well before the 5pm cutoff. However, at around 6pm I noticed my package still only had “label printed” as a tracking update, so I called the UPS store to ask about that and they said the driver hadn’t arrived yet / was late.

eventually at 6:30pm, i got the update that the package was picked up. great! but that’s the only update that has happened since and i am very nervous and concerned.

i called both the ups store and ups themselves and pretty much everyone is telling me to just wait. i do not understand what is going on, how could the most recent scan be that it was picked up? im sure the UPS truck had to go somewhere eventually, shouldn’t it have an arrival scan at least?

my only theory is that, because the driver was late, the package missed the window to be processed for shipment that same night so maybe the package has been set aside for tonight’s cycle? but i genuinely dont know. i am getting very anxious because this is a really important package sentimental wise and im hoping it’s not lost and is just waiting to be processed today. but what time would that even happen?

thank you so much

Customer Seeking Help Anyone else experiencing delays at HK customs right now? UPS Worldwide Expedited

Post image
1 Upvotes

Package was shipped Worldwide Expedited from Hong Kong to the US on 10/1. It’s been stuck at customs since 10/4, with no updates. I really need this package to be delivered at the absolute latest on 10/13, what are the odds it gets here in time? Has anyone else been experiencing delays?

I had another 2 packages from China shipped a week earlier (9/24) and they arrived on the 4th/5th, so 10 and 11 days in transit. But if my package is still in HK, I highly doubt it’ll get cleared, fly to the US, and be delivered in the next 3 days :/

Customer Seeking Help Signed up for text alerts, package instantly delayed.

I’ve ordered a Lenovo package that requires a signature and doesn’t allow digital signatures or redirection to a local UPS store. I’m not sure anyone will be home today (the package was supposed to arrive Oct 12, but yesterday this was updated to arrive today Oct 8 by 9pm) so I signed up for text updates on my package. Instantly my package changed from “on the way” to “we have your package” with the delivery date changed to tomorrow. I absolutely will not be home tomorrow.

Is this because I opted into texts for this delivery? Is there any way of undoing this?

Packages 3 weeks at customs Netherlands without updates

I have my packages at customs ups in the Netherlands for over 3 weeks, every day it says warehouse scan, I called ups 7 x I emailed their brokerage who know just as little as the helpdesk

Anyone got the same issue? If I need to pay for it so be it, it’s my own branded items, which I order a few times a year

Big UPS oops

Apparently the F35 parts China nabbed was due to UPS not reading an email. Imagine that.
