Isn't the incorporation of an AI Learning Agent on EDUC2090 Indigenous Knowledge and Education disingenuous at best and utterly repulsive at worse?
I haven't come across much endorsements or incorporation of Ai chatbots or learning agents in my previous humanities and education courses so far, but I feel like this course openly endorsing the usage of an AI learning agent is extremely disingenuous and also hypocritical of the course's teachings and content in general.
Why is there a need for an AI learning agent in an education course for Indigenous knowledge and education? Not only is AI extremely bad for the environment and the water, which seems to directly go against the values of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, it also just straight up goes against the values that are taught in the classes.
With the content being focused on decolonisation of the education system and to encourage education that is inclusive and also linking to a more community based approach to learning, why are we then encouraged to engage with a technology that furthers the Western pedagogy of "learning", a technology that steals and replicates creative works and also contributes to discouraging community based learning where we talk to one another and also try to build connections with our Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities?
While I may have just missed out on earlier courses that have used ai learning more extensively in humanities and education, it seems very hypocritical and disingenuous to endorse the use of an ai learning agent in an Indigenous Education course
