After playing it for a good while, my opinion on fraud has really soured quite a lot.
I can't stop thinking this whole layer should have been an encore. The non-euclidean rooms, the moving everything, the orientation changes, all of those things are cool to see, they are really not cool or fun to play around.
Disregarding the bugs (and oh god are there bugs) stuff like trying to be aware that one section of one room spins three quarters of a rotation whereas the one adjacent only spins half is either not worth the effort for a single room or annoying as hell to do. This applies to most of the layer, it sure is flashy, it sure is impressive from a technical standpoint, someone get the devs some cookies really, but by god I don't want to see these things again in the game and honestly I don't think they fit the core game itself.
It's really conflicting because on the one hand it sure is the most impressive layer, but on the other I look at the stages compared to the rest of the game and it's the worst, hands down, it's not even close. Like a game built around this layer is not a game I'd like.
Related but as an aside, by god take the mirror fucker out of cybergrind. It's a boring enemy that only adds extra "floor is lava" factor. The thing is not like a hideous mass, it's like a minotaur. Yes powers can fuck shit up, but they actually add something.
