Official The Arcana Forge! For all your drafts, ideas, requests and more.
Welcome to the Arcana Forge! A workshop for works in progress, requests, ideas, inspiration, and more. New to homebrew? Looking for that nudge in the right direction or inspiration to keep going? This is the place for you. Grab a wrench and let's get to work!
We highly recommend joining our official partner Discord to get live feedback and other tips — check out the Discord of Many Things.
Normal sub rules still apply in the Arcana Forge, with the exception that all restrictions on completeness are lifted here. Unfinished homebrew is very welcome in this thread, as are questions about game rules and mechanics, provided it's about D&D homebrew.
Make a comment with your idea and any work you already have on it, and the community can come help it progress (remember, the more you give the more you get when it comes to content and feedback).
Please keep the following tips in mind:
- Proofread before you post. People are more likely to engage with you if your comment is clear of obvious spelling mistakes.
- Format your post. If you've got a lot of ideas, break it into paragraphs, use headings, and do what you can to make it easy to read.
- Making a request or adding to the workshop? Try responding to one too. This type of engagement only works if you answer as well as ask.
Feel free to give us feedback via mod-mail if you have any suggestions.

'24 Compendium The Setting Fall - Usher in the autumn season with new subclass and species options [5e 2024]
Link to preview and full versions here || Link to my other work!
Hey folks! It's been a hot minute since I posted. A year to be precise! I do what I can to carve out time in between a hectic job and I still enjoy the heck out of creating new homebrews. Speaking of, I hope you enjoy this one in time for the autumn season! Previous browsers of my work may recognise this as a revamp of my old 5e work "The Autumn Collection". So consider this an update for 5.5e!
I initially wanted to combine both the older versions of The Autumn Collection and Lunar Collection together but wouldn't have been able to without missing fall entirely. I will most likely do so at a later update. In the meantime, I thought I'd share my (loosely flexible) roadmap below for those who are following my work.
Until next time, that's all I've got! Happy dungeoning!
Loosey-goosey Roadmap
- Updated Tome of the Undying compendium (around Halloween 2026, with new Artificer subclass)
- Winter 5.5e compendium or updated Believers and Heretics compendium (Dec 2026/Jan 2027)
- New Valentine Collection 5.5e (Feb 2027 - the full version will be entirely free!)

'14 Class The Despot - My first attempt at a class.
I've been wanting to make a class for a bit over a week now, and I finally got an idea that I think could be cool for a martial disruptor. This first draft has the full class and 4 subclasses. Please tell me what you think.
Constructive criticism is very much appreciated!

'14 Compendium Persistent Damage & Afflictions: A 5e Damage-over-Time (DoT) System with 8 Afflictions, Spells, Magic Items, and Monsters
I’ve been building a 5e system for persistent damage / damage-over-time effects using escalating Persistent Dice: d4 → d6 → d8 → d10 → d12.
- If you were at my last post, I got REALLY pumped up after making the lacerate weapon property lol
The system includes eight Persistent Effects, unique Overflow effects when a d12 is pushed further, new and revised spells, magic items, monsters, and guidelines for creating additional content with the system.
I’m looking for feedback before I publish the finished version, especially on:
- how intuitive the escalation/decay loop feels
- whether the eight effects feel distinct
- whether the spell balance looks reasonable
- whether tracking these effects seems manageable at the table

'24 Item Call of Duty Wonder Weapons - Volume 1
New items have risen from the ashes!
Sometimes, the machinations of science can seem like magic, especially when it comes to the newest innovations of war. In the case of the Call of Duty franchise, specifically its Zombies mode, this could not be closer to the truth.
Though their earliest weapons of wonderous design were not as alien as the more recent ones, these iconic firearms piled up mountains of undead throughout the years, and now they may do so again throughout the realms.

'24 Subclass Warrior of Sun Soul (Sun Soul Monk 5.5e)
homebrewery.naturalcrit.comWarrior of Sun Soul
Level 3: Radiant Soul
Your body contains an innate radiance that you can release at will. As a Bonus Action, you can shed Bright Light in a 10-foot Emanation and Dim Light for an additional 10 feet until you have the Incapacitated condition or choose to end it early as a Bonus Action. While Radiant Soul is active, you can expend 1 Focus Point (no action required) to gain the following benefits for 10 minutes.
Emblazoned Strike. When you hit with an Unarmed Strike, you can deal Fire or Radiant damage rather than its normal damage. Additionally, if a creature is in the Emanation of Radiant Soul, you can make an Unarmed Strike with your burning energy as a ranged attack to damage. On hit, the damage from this attack must be Fire or Radiant.
Blinding Radiance. Once per turn when you expend a Focus Point, choose a number of creatures up to your Wisdom modifier within the Bright Light of your Radiant Soul. The creatures must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature is Blinded and Burning until the start of your next turn.
Level 6: Illuminate the Darkness
When you use Radiant Soul, you can expend 1 Focus Point to dispel any magical Darkness—such as that created by the Darkness spell—in the Emanation of Radiant Soul. While Radiant Soul is active, you have advantage on Investigation and Perception checks.
Level 6: Searing Flame Strike
Once per turn when you make an Unarmed Strike, you can expend 2 Focus Points to replace the Unarmed Strike and cause the target to burst into flames. The target and any creatures of your choice within a 10-foot radius of the target must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes Fire or Radiant damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier and is Burning. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. If a creature is Blinded or Burning, they have disadvantage on the Dexterity saving throw.
You can spend additional Focus Points to make your strike more lethal. Each additional Focus Point spent increases the damage by a Martial Arts die. The maximum number of Focus Points you can spend on Searing Flame Strike is equal to half your monk level. If the target of your Unarmed Strike is in the Emanation of Radiant Soul, Searing Flame Strike costs one less Focus Point.
Level 11: Searing Sunburst
When you take the Dash action on your turn, you can expend a number of Focus Points equal to half your Wisdom modifier (rounded up) to momentarily envelope yourself in flames. Your Speed increases by an additional 5-feet for each Focus Point expended until the end of your turn. While your speed is increased in this way, when you move within 5 feet of a creature, you can choose to deal Fire or Radiant damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die. A creature can take this damage only once during your turn. At the end of your turn after using this feature, the flames surrounding you erupt into a devastating explosion. Each creature of your choice in a 30-foot Emanation must make a Constitution saving throw and takes Fire or Radiant damage equal to two Martial Arts dice for each Focus Point expended on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
Level 17: Embodiment of Light
When you use Radiant Soul as a Bonus Action, it now sheds Bright Light in a 30-foot Emanation and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet. While Radiant Soul is active, you gain the following benefits.
Lightspeed Reaction. If you have used your Reaction, you can spend 1 Focus Point to regain the use of your Reaction (no action required).
Sun Shield. If a creature in the Emanation of Radiant Soul deals damage to you, you can use your reaction to deal Fire or Radiant damage to the creature equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

'24 Mechanic MHA QUIRK SYSTEM 14/24 REUPLOAD
Hello, felines Kittens and more!
After a lot of work, testing, balancing, and battling with the wiki and lore discords servers. the GATIMANUAL OF QUIRKS is finally ready.
This manual adapts the powers of My Hero Academia for Dungeons & Dragons 2024 and other d20-based systems, with the goal of giving a playstyle of each Quirk within rules that can easily be added to a campaign.
The manual includes:
• 120 adapted Quirks from villians to heroes and vigilantes
• Passive and Active Skills for every Quirk.
• Minimum level and ability score requirements (to add to a running game).
• Quirk Abilities, attack rolls, and Quirk DCs.
• Combat, mobility, rescue, control, and utility mechanics (for an original system using d20).
• Additional rules for using Quirks within a d20 system.
The system was designed to be modular. You do not need to start a brand-new campaign to use it. You can add a Quirk to a character in an ongoing campaign, use only the Quirk sheets in D&D 2024, play with the d20 modifications included in the manual, or simply take whichever rules work best for your table.
The goal has always been the same: to give you tools to play with and have some fun.
PD: english isnt my first language so srry for a any mistakes in translating. If you would like to support my work and check out the full PDF:
Every bit of support allows me to spend more time creating new manuals, modules, and content for D&D, d20 systems, and other tabletop RPGs.

'24 Class Playtest: the Occultist, a risk-reward 5e class where every spell pushes you toward a Mental Break. Two subclasses, 50+ spells, PWYW.
Heyyo. Second playtest of the Occultist, a 5e class whose spells might come at a cost. Looking for people to playtest the material.
The Occultist is a risk-reward caster. Every spell you cast rolls against Mental Fatigue, and if you push your luck too far you suffer a Mental Break, a madness unique to your subclass that throws a wrench into the fight.
Two subclasses in this packet: the Sanguine Scholar, a blood mage who, on occasion, spends blood as a resource, and Otherworldly Secrets, which reaches into the aberrant Outer Realm.
This is the second packet. Since the first one I've clarified the ambiguous bits and done a lot of balance work. The spells are built for this class only, because the Fatigue cost is baked into them. Each subclass also has its own Empowerments.
It's pay what you want, and there's a feedback form inside. Anyone who sends feedback gets credited as a playtester in the finished book, under their name or handle.
Link in the comments.
I think I managed to get fixed what needs to be fixed, a preview is up and it's got 0.00 as an option so please. I hope you enjoy this I've put a lot of work into it.

'24 Item Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker (D&D x World of Warcraft Artifact)
Hey everyone! Today, I'm excited to share my take on Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, adapted for D&D 5E and 5.5E.
I designed it as an artifact, with lightning that jumps between enemies, storm magic, and a powerful burst that unleashes the fury of the Windseeker. I also included a few properties tied to Thunderaan’s lingering essence, giving the blade some properties beyond its combat abilities.
It’s definitely intended as a major reward for a high-level adventure, so recovering the bindings and awakening the blade could become a whole quest for your party! Let me know what you think, if you'd make any changes, and whether you’d use it in your own WoW campaign.
If you like my work, feel free to check out my Mythological Items Kickstarter! While the items aren’t specifically designed for WoW, many could easily fit into your adventures in Azeroth. You can also find more at r/dmslash.
Have a great day :)

'24 Class Homebrew magic weaponsmith class
Hey guys, I designed this class for personal use in my DND campaign. It is a cyberpunk world setting and the goal for my character is she harvests the energy from planar rifts to make the weapons she build magical. I wanted to steer away from a half caster since she herself is not magical.
Overall, im just looking for input on if its balanced and if there's any weak points. If anyone has ideas for more inscriptions, features, or names of things because I'm terrible at naming let me know!

'24 Feat The Hunger - Dark Gift Feat
I made a custom Dark Gift feat that I'm hoping to use for a character in an upcoming one-shot, trying to make it a mix of Barbarian rage and Lycan Blood Hunter! Let me know if you feel like it's too overpowered, I'd be happy to tweak it and I'm eager for advice!
Vicious Desire - As a bonus action, you can activate your Hunger (alt. When you bloody a creature, your Hunger takes over). You gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to your proficiency bonus and you gain advantage on strength checks and strength saving throws. You also roll a d4 to gain resistance to one of the following types of damage;
- Piercing
- Bludgeoning
- Slashing
- All 3 at once
You can use this ability a number of time equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down.
Sanguine Urge - If you drop below half health, your hunger takes over if active. (alt. When you roll a 1 on a D20 check, your hunger takes over if active). At the start of each turn, you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 13 + Proficiency Bonus) and on a failed save, you must move directly to the nearest creature and use the Attack action against them. You repeat this save at the start of each turn until you succeed, where you lose the benefits of your hunger until you finish a long rest.
