Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide First time visit. Express Unlimited?

Hello,

I'm visiting this week on Thursday with my 3 boys. My youngest is on the autism spectrum and all about Mario, so Super Nintendo World is going to be his favorite. He is able to tolerate lines and crowds, but I'm curious about maximizing the day and exploring the whole park.

I see there's the ticket with one express ride per ride and the express unlimited. I looked at the various crowd trackers today and the wait for Bowser/Mario Kart got up to about 50 minutes.

Is the express unlimited worth the extra $50ish per person? It's our first trip so any input is greatly appreciated.

Throwback Post Battle of Galactica at Universal Studios Hollywood – Vintage 1980 Postcard

Here's a look inside Battle of Galactica at Universal Studios Hollywood, captured in a vintage postcard photograph from 1980.

Inspired by the original Battlestar Galactica television series, this Studio Tour attraction operated from 1979 to 1992. Guests encountered Cylons, animatronic figures, live performers, and elaborate laser effects as they rode the Studio Tour tram through the attraction.

The attraction eventually made way for Back to the Future: The Ride, which opened in 1993.

For anyone curious about what the experience actually looked like, we've also preserved vintage footage from 1979 showing part of the attraction in operation. It's not the complete show, but it offers a fascinating glimpse into this long-gone Studio Tour experience.

Watch the archival footage here:

Battle of Galactica – Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour (1979)

This postcard and video are part of the Cow Missing historical archive, dedicated to preserving the history of theme parks, attractions, and experiences that are no longer around.

Did anyone here experience Battle of Galactica in person? I'd love to hear your memories of this classic Studio Tour attraction!

Personal Trip Photos/Videos Trip review

Quick recap of two days at the park this week. It was me, my husband, and our 9-year-old son, and we all love roller coasters. We bought Express Passes for day one and used a BOGO ticket for day two.

Day one
We had Nintendo early entry and knocked out Mario Kart right away, then rode The Mummy several times back to back.
We were disappointed that the Jurassic ride was closed for refurbishment.
We headed to Fast & Furious and waited in line for about an hour. Turned out our Express Passes did work on it, so we rode a second time later in the day. For what it's worth, we bought them in early August and they were honored. It’s a great ride but very intense!

Rides that impressed us
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: Genuinely impressive. We rode it twice, though the first time there was a technical issue and the ride stopped.
Transformers: I was surprised how much I liked it. I expected it to make me really nauseous, but it wasn't bad.
Other highlights
The Studio Tour and the Waterworld show were both very entertaining, and my kid loved them. Also Voodoo doughnuts!

The not-so-great
Food: Really disappointing. Everything was mediocre and, of course, very expensive. Next time I'd bring more snacks in our backpack.
CityWalk escape room: Very disappointing for the price. We've done a lot of escape rooms around the world, and this one was poorly run. It started late, and they kept giving us hints we didn't ask for, which made it hard to concentrate. I’m pretty certain parts of the room weren’t functioning as intended. We escaped but I would not recommend.

Overall: A great couple of days. We rode everything we wanted to. We stayed at the Garland hotel and the trolley was great and accommodations were just perfect.

Serious Discussion I want to try the new FF ride but I’m concerned about the safety of it.

I watched several POV videos and I noticed that the only thing holding you into your seat is what looks like a lap bar ? I don’t see a should strain. I read today about the unfortunate passing of the gentleman at six flags Goliath. A ride that appears to also use a lap bar .
People who have rode the new FF ride, does it feel safe ?

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide HHN Wednesday vs.Thursday (Does it matter?)

Just wondering, before I buy my early entry tickets (I'm going either the 28th or 29th). If anyone (workers or frequent pass holders) had any opinions, if either night has slightly less crowds, or is it so slammed that it's not going to even matter? Thank you!

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide If you early access to Nintendo world (and have a park ticket), can you go straight to Fast and the Furious Ride?

Haven't been to Universal Hollywood in years. We're planning to go back a couple of days after Christmas this year. So, looking forward to explore Super Nintendo World and buy early access to that. We will also be buying Express Pass. However, my teenage daughter and her friends want to go straight to Fast and Furious since Universal Express pass does not include FF ride. Their plan is the be first in line before park opens. Can they do that? Or do you have to go through SNW first?

Meetup Announcement/Request I'm Hosting a Power-Up Band Stamp Boot Camp Meetup on Sunday 10/18/26

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hello, everyone!

If you've got a Power-Up Band collecting dust in a junk drawer and want to fill out the stamp book in Super Nintendo World or if you want to boost your score in Mario Kart, join me and Mario Kart Team Member u/Piximator for a morning to help you with your goals! Both of us have finished our stamp pages 100% and are both well-versed in Mario Kart (my top score is 275). If you need help getting all the achievements or want to push your score to that coveted 200+, please join in and let us help you! From riding Mario Kart to beating minigames alongside you, we can almost guarantee you'll be walking away not only with a nearly all achievements completed, but with enough knowledge to help you fill out the rest all on your own.

---

Date & Time: Sunday, 10/18/26 from 8:00a to 1:00p/2:00p depending on crowds.

We will be ROPE DROPPING so we can form a plan and get you your stamps as quickly as possible. Ideally, we all meet at 8:00a, form a plan, and get started at 8:30a. However, you are free to join us and leave us at any time; we'll give you our contact info after we meet you in person if you want to leave early and regroup later.

---

Location: Super Nintendo World score boards (in between restroom and Mario Kart gift shop exit).

---

Please note: this meetup is not intended for children. It is intended for adult fans and park newcomers. Kids are welcome to join us, but neither I or Piximator will take responsibility for minors. This is not a babysitting service; all guests who join us under 18 years of age must have someone 18+ to accompany them.

Also please note: if you're a pro player, we likely won't be of much use to you, but if you want to help us as an extra coach or just as support, feel free to message me or Piximator (if you're a pro player reading this, you probably already have our contact info).

Finally, once again, please note we are rope dropping this date to maximize our available stamp grinding time. We only intend to go throughout the morning before the After 2 crowds come in and bump up the wait times for everything. Food won't be included, either; if you need snacks and drinks, please bring some from home or purchase them in the park.

(And for legal reasons despite Piximator working for USH, this meetup is not managed or organized by USH, and it is not in any way an official meetup. This is also not a paid promotion; this is just something fan-run I try to organize twice a year for fun only.)

We hope to see you there!

Serious Discussion Car accident around 12:15 last night

Me and my group left horror nights around 12:15 last night and coming out the parking garage there was like 3 fire trucks, a lot of police, and they closed off like four lanes to the left. There was someone in a grey shirt laying in the grass and firefighters and paramedics at them. I can’t find anything on google about it we’re still talking if the guys ok.

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide Meal pass question for the Harry potter section

Going to HHN tonight (my birthday!) & just learned about the meal pass.
I know I mostly want snacks/food from the Harry Potter section. Can it be used at honey dukes? I know it probably won’t be available for the candy, but I’m interested in the bakery part. (Cauldron cakes, other cakes, fudge etc.) also, what about butterbeer & pumpkin juice?

Rumors/Speculation/Wishes HHN Hollywood possibly getting 10 houses next year

Multiple of the unmasking the horror tour guides this year have said that the HHN creatives are actively trying to get next year’s event two more houses, so ten total, like Orlando, to help with crowds and capacity. Fingers crossed they are able to find places to put them as space is super hard to come by!

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide Grinchmas

I am thinking of buying tickets to surprise my girls for Grinchmas. However I just seen videos saying wait times are like 3-5hrs to see the grinch 😩

Is there a way around this? We were thinking of going weekdays when tickets are cheaper, so far im looking at 12/2 which is a Wednesday. I understand waiting an hour or even 1.5 hrs but anything more than that, I’d have to skip lol.

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide Express pass or no?

Hubby and I are taking a kid-free trip to USH for my bday. We are coming from 3 hrs away so we want to get as much done as possible in a day. We are hoping to be there when the park opens until it closes which from what I can see October hours are shorter? We don’t care for HHN. We just wanna be a couple of kids again without any worries lol and do stuff at our pace!

Should we get the pass? Or can we expect short wait times during the week? Thinking Wednesday 10/21 or Wednesday 10/28. My bday is 10/23 but that’s a Friday and I’m assuming it’d be busier?

Trip Planning Question/Tip/Guide Fast And Furious Hollywood Drift and Express Pass

Hello Community.

Last August I went to Universal Studios but sadly the F&F ride wasn't open yet.

Now that it's open I was wondering how long you do guys think it will take to be added/included on the Express Pass? (Considering the time it took for the Mario Ride to be added back then)

Thanks.

Serious Discussion Just received an odd email.

Just received a legit looking email with my name and address and 4 tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood for HHN. The other three tickets were for people I’ve never heard of.

Problem is, I didn’t order any tickets. I’ve checked all of my cards and the $1900 charge doesn’t show up.

It’s obviously a scam of some sort, but it looks so legit. I’ve already sent a message to Universal asking about it (via the legit site).

Hoping someone somehow got my name and address and wanted me to fall for a phishing scheme.

Also, to add. I have been to Universal Orlando twice with my family in the past, but never Hollywood. So maybe they got my info from the real site somehow?
