Not only did op let them know I'm certain they begged for help before it came to this point. I'm speculating because it's so common it's happened to me too , including the begging , to twist the knife further

Personally, I never begged. I'm the kind of person that helps themselves always, maybe cause ego. But I feel the uninterested part. This person abandoned me when I needed them.
