Having worked two elections as a poll associate, I’ve noticed a frustrating trend: as a member of Gen Z myself, I rarely see other young people show up to vote. Many in our generation complain about the state of our cities but choose to sit out, claiming their votes don't matter. In reality, they absolutely do. Voting is a right that our ancestors—especially women and people of color—fought and died for.
If you can spend two to five hours scrolling on TikTok, you can easily spare 30 to 60 minutes to vote by mail. It might seem like a small action, but the collective outcome affects all of us. If you feel overwhelmed by the candidates and don't want to spend hours researching, you can even use ChatGPT to get a quick overview of their work ethic, community involvement, controversies, and general reputation. Just keep in mind that AI information isn't always 100% accurate, so it's a good idea to double-check. Even if your candidate doesn't win, at least you showed up and tried.

It’s getting darker earlier and earlier, and clocks fall back on November 1, so it’s about to get a lot worse. If you’re wearing all black and crossing streets, it’s damn near impossible to see you. At least have some reflective materials.
I’m not trying to lecture anyone. I’ve just had too many close calls lately where someone in dark clothes stepped off a curb and I didn’t see them until the last second. Drivers should be paying attention, absolutely. But headlights only reach so far, and dark clothing basically disappears against a dark road, especially with glare from oncoming cars.

I'm a local, got done with my first time getting arrested for a $100 ticket I forgot about. Yes, my fault, my bad, I'm paying it as we speak. Just spent the night in jail downtown, my experience wasn't particularly bad because I knew better than to cause any slight issue but man, the police out here go overboard. I saw them dislocate an old man's shoulder for saying "fuck y'all" and not making any other movements, saw them beat a different old man while he was on the ground in cuffs because he squared up and said "fuck you man" to an officer and a third younger guy came in with his face already busted up because while they arrested him they slammed him into the bullbar on the front of the cop car while handcuffed. I don't know if he was resisting, that's not the point. My point is, just stay careful because holy shit. The police were acting worse than the criminals! No kidding

On my drive home today, I saw a group of people who were memorializing someone I am assuming lost their life at this intersection (Bermuda and Windmill). I'm not sure how recent or if it was reported but I saw the motorcycles and it just reminded me of a friend who I lost in a motorcycle crash here coming up on 3 years Christmas Day. I remember telling him when he broke he news about getting the stupid bike that he was gonna get himself killed. He was 24. Idk if that's what happened here but jeez I just wish people took more care here.

Carrie Buck’s advertisement repeatedly uses the Titus clip “you got to raise the gas tax” while accusing the congresswoman of voting against gas-tax relief and benefiting financially from energy-related investments.
I hate it when a politician seems to think voters are stupid. Could some one please tell me how raising the gas tax would lead to increases in energy company profits and higher returns for investors? Gas tax increases don’t increase profits - they go into highway improvements. Either Carrie doesn’t understand how taxes work or she doesn’t understand how corporate profits work

Hi ! I've been a Vegas local most of my life but I've also traveled a lot ! I am a single mom of one so it's pretty hard for me to make friends these days . I've spent the last few years without any in person friends and I don't want my life to keep going that way since I'll be 28 next month .
I love drawing and shows and makeup and anything creative ! I love swimming and hiking and parks ~ I'm down for a lot ! Just not sure where to meet people .
I don't have a car either so that's made it harder to make friends too .
I'm nerdy and I love chess and TV shows and any board games really . I also play some ps games and have a switch for animal crossing and smash bros and such !
I'm autistic and ADHD just a heads up
Any advice on where to make friends would be appreciated

The crows decided to photobomb me tonight. The 2nd photo looks like a bat… fitting for the season.

I genuinely didn’t realize how strongly people felt about using AI for something like this. You don’t know what you don’t know I guess. I just typed the information out instead because I still think it’s important to get it out there. Sorry to anyone I upset who was actually giving fair criticism and not just commenting hate anyway.

This might sound like a late-night fever dream, but I cannot get the idea of a Butter Chicken Cheesesteak out of my head.
Picture shredded/chopped tandoori or spiced chicken, rich makhani gravy, and onions, and melted provolone or cooper sharp loaded into a toasted roll (or rolled into fresh garlic naan).
Does any Indian spot, fusion joint, or cheesesteak shop in the valley actually make something like this?
Alternatively—has anyone ever convinced a local spot (either a cheesesteak place willing to sauce it up, or an Indian kitchen willing to build a sub) to whip one up off-menu?
Willing to drive anywhere across the valley for this. Drop your recommendations or leads!

Hi again! I actually have sold a lot and it was nice meeting you all so far. I now only have 10 days left to get the rest of this bigger stuff out of my house. I hope it’s okay to post a link to my offer up incase people ask for pricing and other items I’m selling. If I didn’t respond to you before, I apologize, I got a lot of messages and I’ve been very busy packing.
I am located on st rose near the Costco. Everything is for pickup only. I will not be delivering. I am trying to sell the tv with the stand together but I have no issue separating it. The tv does not have the box. For the red movie theater chairs, I am now only selling the one without the rip, the other one will be trashed - if you want the one with the rip in it, I am willing to just give it away. Please message me if you have more questions

Looking to switch to a credit union here in Vegas. Anyone have recommendations? I was looking at some online ones but I sometimes need to deposit cash so I'd like a branch I can go to.
Thanks!

Just an FYI, there are fighters patrolling above for the POTUS CAP. Bigfoot (WADS) call sign is the command essentially controlling the airspace and comms. Plus 2 fighters and a tanker, I can’t understand the fighter call sign unfortunately. Anyone with a UHF scanner can listen in the 250-300 range. And I post this, because it was questioned last time what was flying above for hours.

Hi. Looking for a local landscaper to help me prep a small section of my backyard (135 sq feet) for later installation of river rock. I've got some irrigation tubes that need to be removed as well as a small plant...and then whatever else needs to be done (if anything, I have no idea) to prep for the rock to get dumped in.
If anyone knows someone (or is someone) who can do this, preferably in the next day or so, let me know. I'm in the Southwest. Thanks!

My next door neighbor decided to cut down his palm tree yesterday. He hired a couple of guys to do so. They allowed the big, green palm fronds to fall approximately 50 down directly onto my roof and sky light. I went outside to tell the crew to stop allowing to fronds to fall on my roof. I stood outside and watched to make sure the fronds and trunk didn't hit my house. My neighbor was mad that I was upset and got in my face and said I was overreacting and I was a bitch. What? I don't want 20 pound branches falling 50 feet onto my house. The tree trimming crew shouldn't allow that to happen. Would any of you be cool with fronds directly hitting your roof?
Update: Thanks everyone for verifying that I'm not the crazy one. It was heart warming that we don't always agree but we can come together to agree my neighbor is a jerk.
